decreases in cash for the same period of $9,633.89. Net cash flow of -$9,583.89
resulted in an ending cash balance of $2,918.85.
3. Contribution Analysis
Ms. Bova reviewed the current and projected numbers and thanked all who
participated in the fundraising silent auction at last night’s gala. Mr. Cohen asked for
the number of contributions made last year. Ms. Sterner responded that there were
50-60 donations. Mr. Zugger remarked that most contributions came from board and
committee members and not from the general membership.
4. Liberty and Freedom Clubs
The Liberty and Freedom Clubs were reviewed. Mr. Zugger thanked members who
donated PAC money and are wearing supporter ribbons, as well as those who
contributed to last night’s auction.
5. Campaign Contributions
The list of 2014 Campaign Contributions made to date was reviewed. Questions were
raised and Ms. Bova reviewed the process PRLA follows before deciding where to make
contributions. Members asked for a list of legislators who support PRLA’s issues and
efforts.
V.
NEW BUSINESS
A. Review of 2014 Fundraising Goals
The PAC/PEC strategy for 2014 was presented for review. Ms. Bova pointed out that a
customized letter to all big companies and franchises was mailed out in January. Ms. Bova
plans to follow up in April and again in July with any companies that have not responded to
the letter.
Discussion ensued regarding placing an automatic contribution amount on all membership
applications.
B. Chapter Challenge
Ms. Bova reviewed the 2014 Chapter Contributions showing totals of $5,245 donated to
PAC and $1,650 donated to PEC through this challenge.
C. PAC/PEC Committee Challenge
Committee agreed that focusing on a specific legislative issue around a giving campaign is
key to success. Mr. Hottenstein said every PAC/PEC committee member must make a
donation.
Two sample fundraising appeal letters, one tailored to lodging members and one to
restaurant members, were included in the meeting packet. Each member was encouraged
to send 1 letter out to a PRLA member or industry colleague because peer-to-peer outreach
will yield the best results.
2
D. 2014 East Golf Tournament
This year’s tournament will be held on Tuesday, June 24 at RiverCrest Golf Club & Preserve,

E. 2014 West Golf Tournament
