SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
ALL ABOUT?
MENTAL ILLNESS AFFECTS 1 IN 4 PEOPLE
IN HONOR OF OUR LOVING FRIEND
CHARLES “CHAS”
HARRISON KIRKWOOD
Charles “Chas” Harrison Kirkwood, 34, of
Norfolk, Virginia was born on September 8,
1977 and passed away at his home on Monday,
November 14, 2011. Chas graduated from
Maury High School in 1996 and completed
culinary training at the Culinary School of
the Rockies in Boulder, Colorado in 2001.
He was an exceptional chef with a passion
for gourmet food, which he most enjoyed
cooking for his friends and family. Chas was an
avid outdoorsman and enjoyed traveling and
exploring new countries. His favorite activities
were seeing and listening to music, golfing,
tele-skiing and surfing.
WE MISS YOU SO MUCH AND KNOW THAT YOU ARE
SMILING DOWN ON US EVERY DAY, ENCOURAGING US
TO LIVE LIFE WITH THE SAME PASSION AS YOU DID AND
REMINDING US NEVER TO STOP CHASING OUR DREAM
The 2nd Annual Chas Foundation Golf Classic
is dedicated to the memory of Charles “Chas”
Kirkwood with the goal of supporting those
who suffer from mental illness. Mental illness
affects 1 in 4 people, making it vital that we
draw awareness, erase the stigma, and push
for change in relation to how mental illness is
treated throughout our communities. Unlike
any other disisease, it is the only ilness without
a protocol for treatment. Below is a list of
milestones and current projects:
•
•
•
•
•
•
Implementation of speakers bureau

Chas Foundation to continue it’s growth and
