Heisey’s Early Patterns Fancy Loop No. 1205 • Heisey’s third major pattern, No. 1205, was introduced in September of 1896. • An early price list shows over 160 items in the 1205 pattern. The 1898 catalog shows 122 items, and 1902 showed 54 items. By 1905, only 5 items were available. • Much of the information written about Fancy Loop talks about a 1205 variant that has no loops. All of the Stems, the 2 oz. Bar Tumbler, 1205-1/2 8 oz. Tumbler, Mustard, both of the 10 inch Vases, and the Claret Jug have no loops. Heisey’s Early Patterns Fancy Loop No. 1205 • The small pieces of 1205 tend to have their loops facing up, while the larger pieces tend to have loops facing down. The 1205-1/2 Salt has loops facing down! • The bowls all tend to have loops in the bottom. Heisey’s Early Patterns Fancy Loop No. 1205 • The 1205 pattern is found mostly in Crystal, but many pieces were produced in Emerald. • Pieces in Emerald are considered rare and desirable by collectors. • Both Crystal and Emerald pieces were decorated with gold. Sometimes the gold is found on the rim, and sometimes on the loops. Heisey’s Early Patterns Fancy Loop No. 1205 • “For the most part, Fancy Loop was not marked, but the 8 oz. Tumbler has been seen with the Diamond H Trademark in the bottom.” John Martinez, The Heisey Herald, September, 2001 • “No piece of this pattern has been found with the Heisey trademark and more than likely all the molds were destroyed long before the factory ceased operations.” Loren Yeakley, Heisey News, April, 1972 • Fancy Loop was the first Heisey pattern to have a full line of stemware. • Also, it was first pattern to offer a Cologne, the first pattern to offer a vase, and the first to offer a punch bowl.
