Prayer of Invocation/Confession
O God of all the prophets, You knew us
and chose us before You formed us in the
womb. We gather in this sacred space to
uplift and magnify Your name. How
wonderful Your mercies are toward us.
We shall not fear. We will put our trust
in
You,
and
You
alone.
Trials,
temptations, violence and suffering are
all around us. But, we shall not fear.
Today is brand new day. Have Your way
in our lives, O Lord. Fill us with faith
that speaks your word, hope that does
not disappoint, and love that bears all
things for Your sake, until that day
when we shall know You fully, even as
we are known by You. Amen.
Enter His Gates With Praise
OFFERTORY PRAYER
Heavenly Father, for the breath, beauty
and meaning of life, we thank You. For
Your gifts to our bodies, minds, souls,
we thank You. For the gifts of
forgiveness, new life and membership in
Your family, we thank You. With our
tithes, mission gifts and sacrificial
offerings, we are able to share in the
ministries of mercy and spread the
Good News. Bless these gifts of worship
and thank You for being a never-failing
God. Through Jesus Christ we pray.
Amen.
"Therefore, my beloved, be steadfast,
immovable, always excelling in the
work of the Lord, because you know
that in the Lord your labor is not in

My Precious New Prospect Members, Leaders, Ministries,
Family and Friends:
I cannot begin to find the words to express my deep gratitude for all of
the love, gifts, cards and expressions of kindness, shown to The First
Family: Thank you for the love shown to Dave and I during our
birthday celebrations; the precious Christmas gifts you gave and the
prayers you prayed for the first family. THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
THANK YOU!
Please accept the gratitude from our mouths and from our hearts.
"Thank You" is only a good place to start. When I think about the
things you have said and the conversations we have had...When I think
about you...my soul rejoices!
This is another VICTORIOUS YEAR of Overflowing JOY and LOVE!
The longer I serve as your pastor, the more spiritual gifts I discover
around me. The longer we are together, my gratitude for you deepens!
Thank you for loving us and keeping us in your prayers.
Psalms 16:8 – “I keep The Lord always before me; because The Lord is
at my right hand; I shall not be moved!"

WORDS FROM PASTOR J
Epiphany means "manifestation"... the manifestation of Christ to the nations. It
is celebrated on the 12th day of Christmas, January 6.
The Wise Men set out following what they knew: a star. There was one star
overlooking Bethlehem that dominated the sky. Yes it was a long trip to find the
new born king. The wise men asked questions, they looked for answers, and they
were forever changed by what they found. They found the Messiah, the greatest
gift that we have been given. And we will forever be changed by God's bright
shining Light! This year make every breathing moment a gift worth giving to the
King!

JANUARY 2016
Bereavement Support, a “Grief Toolbox” Tool
“Grief Toolbox” wants to start January 2016 by sharing information about a
Bereavement Support Session. It’s not easy talking about your feelings, and
emotions with people you don’t know so here are some of what you can expect at a
Bereavement Support Group Session.
 Confidentiality – Information shared remains within the group. Only what is
thought to be harmful to the participant or someone else is reported.
 Education – Participants are educated to the process of grief, given resources
and discussed, along with activities to cope with their unique loss.
 Scripture(s) and Prayer – Sessions begin and end with prayer. Scripture
references and reading are essential and emphasized.
 Not Isolated in Grief – Participants quickly learn that they are not alone in
their grief. Grief does not need to be suffered in silence and solitude (Hughes,
p.20).
 A Safe Place – Bereavement support groups allow participants to express
their pain, accept the loss, adjust to their loss and then in their own unique
time reinvest into relationships and activities. They learn patience with
themselves and others. As they verbalize they hear and understand
themselves and thus better help themselves (p. 20).
Prayer:
You give insight for living – Your instructions are perfect, reviving the soul. Your
decrees are trustworthy, making wise the simple. Your commandments are right,
bringing joy to the heart. Your commands are clear, giving insight for living.
Reverence for the LORD is pure, lasting forever. The laws of the LORD are true; each
one is fair. They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are
sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb. They are a warning to
your servant, a great reward for those who obey them. Psalm 19:7-11
