A New Day
By Paula Merrill
I could argue that any season is a “new beginning,” even if
this season is when leaves die and we prepare ourselves
for the cold weather. We see that our babies are not really
babies as we watch them head to their first day of school
for the year.
“Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not. They are new every
morning; Great is Your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:2223, NKJV) Every day is a new day. A new start. A new
opportunity. A new chance to get involved, make a
difference, experience life, and find what God has planned
for you.
So go ahead. Get out of that comfort zone. Trust that the
direction you’re hearing God draw you to is the right one.
That while it may not be what you thought, planned,
expected or wanted to go with your journey, there is a
purpose. He is always compassionate and faithful, and will
always see you through.
that pop up, and for upcoming Christmas
events.
What will you with your new day?
Apple Fest is Coming!
The Hilton Apple Festival will be
here before we know it! Set for
the first weekend in October, the
3rd and 4th, we need to start
getting ourselves ready for our
chili and kid’s booths. We also
have the opportunity to earn an
extra $500 by setting up and
tearing down some booths for the
Apple Fest Committee.
Lots of help is needed to make
this fundraiser successful. We
will need help setting up booths in
the days prior to the Apple Fest,
tearing
down
the
booths
immediately following the Apple
Fest, and help at the booths
during the Apple Fest.
Pastor Myke will have a sign up
sheet out to sign up for times to
help setting up or tearing down. If
you would like to help at a booth
during the Apple Fest, talk to Pam
Merrill about helping at the kid’s
booth, or Matt or Josh Merrill
about helping at the chili booth.

UPCOMING
EVENTS
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the
dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your
mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

VBS Update // Thank You!!
Our 2015 VBS was held from August 1014 at Hilton United Methodist Church. This
was our first VBS on our own in 5 years,
and it went well!
This year’s theme was SonWest RoundUp, and we had 60 children participating
and about 30 staff members.
Some of the highlights of the week were
singing fun songs, learning about Moses
and Jesus, doing fun crafts, and the fire
drill during our closing ceremony! It was a
fun week!

a time to recognize the hard work that he puts into
preparing sermons each week, helping at special events,
supporting his family, friends, and congregation, and
much more.
We encourage you to invite Pastor Myke and Pam to
dinner in your home, provide them with a meal, give them
movie tickets, or anything else that you would like to do to
show your appreciation.
