In the Japanese language, the word kuro (blak) suggests
wisdom, experience and nobility. Kawai’s new BLAK series
embodies over eight decades of accumulated knowledge and
experience in crafting the world’s finest pianos. With regal
tone and noble presence, the RX BLAK Series captivates.

Artistic Distinction
The Kawai grand piano is made up of over nine thousand precision parts... wood, metal,
resin and many other materials. Just assembling them into the mere form of a grand piano
is, by itself, an immense undertaking. But the process of crafting them into a precision
instrument capable of translating the subtle expressions of the soul into the language of
music—creating an instrument that can truly sing—is an art.

Distinctive Touch
The M-3 (Millennium III) Ninja Action
Like the ancient warrior for which it is named, the Ninja action is swift, precise and powerful.
The intelligent application of strong, lightweight carbon fiber in Kawai ABS-Carbon action parts
makes this action distinctive. Carbon fiber helps to create an action that repeats 25% faster than
traditional wooden actions and is more sensitive to the player’s touch for greater expressiveness, especially for soft playing.
Phenolic Stablizers positioned on both sides of the hammer shanks provide greater directional
strength and precision, allowing the hammers to deliver maximum energy to the strings for
greater power.
Because ABS-Carbon is virtually impervious to shrinking and swelling due to climatic changes,
the action remains stable and more precise over time. Plus, the inherent strength of
ABS-Carbon allows the action to create more power with less effort.

Unleash your inner artistry.
Introducing the world’s most precise
piano action – Kawai’s acclaimed
M-3 Ninja Action featuring ABS-Carbon
technology and customized
Premium BLAK Sen-Yo hammers.
Tonal Distinction
Deep, resonant tone. Rich, singing character. Lush layers of expression.
These are the hallmarks of the Kawai RX BLAK Series Grand Pianos.
An essential element of a piano’s tone is the soundboard. Because it is made
of wood—a material that is as beautiful as it is unpredictable—the Acoustic
Resonant Solid Spruce soundboard in the RX BLAK Series is carefully selected
and seasoned. The result is a stable and long-lasting soundboard that offers a
powerful, singing tone.
Kawai’s Premium BLAK Sen-Yo hammers produce a vivid clarity, warmth and
dynamic range that is unsurpassed. In Japan, Sen-Yo means personalized.
Sen-Yo hammers are specially constructed for North America to deliver
exceptional tone that is rich and inviting.
