Introduction
This catalogue of manufacturers and exporters of medical devices contains information of companies associated in the Association of
Manufacturers and Suppliers of Medical Devices and their product range.
A production of medical devices has a long tradition in the Czech Republic. Since 20th of the 20th century surgical instruments,
x-rays, and other orthopaedic and rehabilitation devices have been manufactured in our country.
A qualitative development started in 50th of the last century with electronics development. A production of ECG machines, sterilizers,
ventilators, anaesthetic devices, laboratory devices and other products has started. As early as in those years our industry reached
outstanding successes in the world. In 1958 we were awarded a gold medal for a cardiology defibrillator at the world exhibition in
Brussels. Another world success was reached with a polarograph invention for which professor Heyrovsky was awarded the Nobel Prize.
Engineering and electrical products have gradually been supplemented with products from plastics. Professor Wichterle has registered
an invention of hydro gel contact lenses. Industry has started to produce disposable syringes and needles.
Health care area continued its development and started to supply complicated technical systems such as central sterilizers, dental
units, x-ray units, cobalt irradiator, lithotriptor etc.
In 90th of the last century a transformation of the industry into market economy conditions took place in the Czech Republic. Today,
the sector of medical devices represents a wide complex of various entrepreneurial subjects comprising of production, designer,
business, and distribution companies. The Czech medical devices industry meets majority of key needs of health care facilities.
Companies are able to supply products from surgical instruments, various types of hospital beds, sterilizers including central sterilisation,
ventilators, anaesthetic devices, x-rays including panoramic x-rays, dental technique, ambulances, mobile hospitals, orthopaedic and
rehabilitation devices, kitchen and laundry equipment, technical gases and their distribution, and other assortment. The medical
devices industry in the Czech Republic is able to deliver complex supplies from a design to the equipment with technology products.
Our goal is to implement best solution from the viewpoint of technical excellence, quality and cost effectiveness. A complex program
meeting individual requirements of our customers from counselling , training to servicing is guaranteed.
All our companies use quality assurance system ISO. Their products have CE mark.
The aim of the catalogue is to inform health care workers of the possible product range for equipping their workplaces. More detailed
information of individual companies together with prices of products can be obtained on given contact addresses.

History
End of 19th century – History of ABNER a.s. dates back to 1880 when there was
silversmith workshop established and began manufacture of trays, powder compacts,
cigarette cases, boxes and cutlery. In the later period developing of production is firmly
attached to the name BIBUS.
• 1981 – beginning of production of stainless steel equipment for hospital catering
– stainless steel tray systems and transport trolleys.
• 1993 – ABNER Ltd. was established.
• 1994 – extension of pressure cartridges production.
• 1997 – company certified according to ISO 9002/1994 by BVQI.
• 1999 – transformation from limited company to joint-stock company ABNER a.s.
• 2010 – beginning of production of insulated tray system with active heating.
Products
Our production programme is focused on catering equipment made of stainless steel –
wide range of transport and manipulation trolleys, trolleys with heating or cooling, etc.
Our products ensure modern way of distribution and transport of meals in kitchens,
canteens, hospitals, nursery homes, homes for the elderly.
Isothermal tray system THERMOLINE®
The THERMOLINE® tray system was specially developed for cook & serve catering. Great
attention has been given to the new requirements in the field of hygiene. The result is a
user-friendly system which maintains an optimum temperature. The heating system of
the THERMOLINE® system has been adjusted to a food temperature of 65° to 75°C. Each
heating zone is regulated individually by means of a temperature sensor. This automatic
heating system guarantees an even target temperature of all foods using the lowest power
consumption. The heating module is covered with a lid made of polypropylene with PUR
foam core. In this way an optimum insulation for hot foods is achieved and heat transfer
to cold foods is prevented. Both the heating module and the lid are fully dishwasher proof.
Variations of tablet THERMOLINE® :
- tablet THERMOLINE® A1 – active heating of plate with main meal only
- tablet THERMOLINE® A2 – active heating of plate main meal and bowl with soup
- tablet TERMOLINE® Passive – neutral version where pre-heated china ware is being used only
Active-Tray isothermal tray system
In the Active-Tray distribution system, hot meals are heated individually and covered
with insulated domes. This provides a thermal separation between hot and cold components
and allows individual meals to be heated as required, e.g. only the porridge for breakfast
or only the soup for supper.The Active-Tray system can be used with traditional ward
trolleys but also with a docking station and transfer cart. During regeneration, the
heating system does not heat the entire ward trolley, but channels the energy directly
to the hot meals of each individual tray.

Tradition with the ALPA trade mark
The history of the ALPA company is the history of a steady
and prosperous company. The popularity of ALPA products
has lasted for decades. After the second world war when
the production was based in Brno the company moved
to the town of Velké Meziříčí. In 1994 the company was
privatised and up to the present date it is a modern and
forward thinking company. The main assets the ALPA brand
takes pride in are the ownership of the Czech trade mark and
almost 100 years lasting satisfaction of their customers. In
2004 the company has been awarded with the ISO 9001 and
ISO 14001 certificates.
At present the ALPA company manufactures cosmetics,
especially the ALPA embrocation and products designated
for massage – emulsions, gels and creams based on ALPA
embrocation, foot treatment products, hair products and
baby and infant lotions and powders. All the products are
presented on the company web sites www.alpa.cz.
Taking into account the very good acceptance of these
products, the company management decided to commence
production of a certain type of gel as a medical device using
the relax-el® trade name. This is made in three differing
types – containing menthol, clove extract and chestnut
extract. The intended function of relax-el® applied on the
skin is supported by the effect of agents contained in the
relax-el® medical device.
At the beginning of 2006 this medical device has been
approved and registered by the Czech Ministry of Health
(under its original name ALPAGEL) and the ALPA company
endeavours to supply the market place with the highest
quality standard of these products.

a) Integrated cardiovascular laboratory serves for the early detection of cardiovascular risk-based peripheral perfusion and pulse wave

- a portable diagnostic unit used as a wireless peripheral for a notebook, serviced by an assistant
- portable ultrasound (notebook)
b) Integrated evaluation laboratory for physiotherapy serves for screening and early detection of risks related to the cardiovascular
system and overall health status in relation to training and therapy. The laboratory is based on peripheral and organ perfusion + pulse
wave screening and consists of:
- a portable diagnostic unit used in a cardiovascular lab
- an optical system for detecting organ perfusion
c) Telemedical solution serves for remote expert advice and remote monitoring
The solution is designed for use by the patient in a natural environment outside the hospital or in remote areas. The modular

It was established in Brno in 1990. The owner is Mr.
Alois Audy. The strategic orientation of the company

Beznoska Co. Ltd. has been formed by privatization process of part of Poldi Steelworks in 1992. This unit has been producing
surgical instruments and implants for traumatology and orthopedics all ready since 1969.
Since 1995 the company has been certified in accordance with ISO 9001 standards and since 2003 with ISO 13485:2003.
IN the second case Beznoska was successfully certified by a Norwegian company “DNV”. Since 1998 our company has been
authorized to use the mark of conformity “CE” in accordance with the European directive 93/42/EEC for the whole product’s
assortment. This authorization has been awarded by “Notified Body” (NB 0434).
Nowadays more than 3.000 surgical instruments and implants are included in the production assortment. There are instruments,

The audit (TÜV) for obtaining the ISO 9001, EN 46001 and first CE Mark certificate
was successfully conducted in 1996. Since 2004 the company is certificated and
meets the requirements of EN ISO 13485 standard. The credo of the company has

relies on the digiMED system – a digital baropodometry
(pedography) system that enables the exact measurement

ERILENS finalized new design and development of 2 new types of crutches in

SED
SED is a system for automated calculation, evaluation and archiving of
organ and effective doses obtained by a patient during diagnostic and
intervention examinations employing ionising radiation exposure for
medical purposes.
Data
Data of individual examinations are sent to the system by means of DICOM
files, usually originating from the hospital’s PACS system. The SED system
also allows capture of the examination data directly from the individual
devices. Optional connection to the hospital’s information management
system such as RIS is also available.
Calculation
SED provides automated dose calculation for the following essential
modalities:

• computed tomography
• angiography

DRL
SED also performs automated calculation of the values of local radiological
levels from the collected and evaluated data. This allows to directly
compare performance of the individual devices against the national
radiological standards or to monitor temporal changes of these values.

• on-line dose indication – SED system provides web interface that allows
to easily read patient’s obtained effective and organ doses within
minutes after the examination in question took place.
• statistics – the web interface works with a whole range of statistical
data regarding the number of examinations, dose averages for each

doses related to the operating personnel. This analysis can contribute
to detection of discrepancies and thus to reduction of the radiation

The company Ing. Marek Motyčka - Klášterní officína was established in 2000. In
the beginning was mainly the cultivation of medicinal herbs. Then, the company

aim is rediscovering forgotten recipes and financial support restoration of an
important cultural and spiritual center of the Benedictine monastery in Rajhrad

Benedictine order is the oldest organized religious communities in Western
Europe, which was founded in the year 529 by the St. Benedict. The first mention
of the Benedictine monastery in Rajhrad u Brna dates from 1045. Hitherto, the
only remaining nestarším a Benedictine monastery in Moravia.
In 1465 the vineyards were founded and subsequently Cellars. From the 14th
century. in the monastery begins to boil beer. The monks take care of the “Garden
of Eden” with the planting of medicinal plants, which the brothers received the
manufacture of medicinal liquors, elixirs, tinctures, salves and herbal teas.
Centuries of experience with natural resources and have given rise to a harmonized
proven recipes that are beneficial to humans today’s “hectic rush”

The company MEDIPO - ZT, s.r.o. (Ltd.) was founded in 1996. In the field
of medical technology, which is the priority, the company provides for the
development, production, and service of its own products.
The MEDILIT lithotriptor is a powerful device especially designed for noninvasive removal of concrements in the kidneys and the urinary and bile ducts
using a focused shock wave. It can also be used in the urological surgery, the
therapy of Peyronie’s disease and in the treatment of various orthopaedic
conditions.
The machine is operated from the control room and the entire therapy process
is computer-controlled.
The staff is thus protected not only from the x-ray radiation but also from
the acoustic manifestations of the shock wave. The table top is motor-driven
and can be positioned multidirectionally in all three axes (x,y,z). It can be
tilted to the Trendelenburg position to facilitate the determination of the
optimum point of entry of the shock wave into the patient’s body. An x-ray
and ultrasound (optional) direction systems are available for concrement
localization. Both systems can operate in conjunction, which considerably
reduces radiation burden in continuous monitoring of the quality of
localization and of the therapeutic effect.
Paediatric vaginoscope MT 1000 with cold light source MT 2002 is designed for
easy gynecological examination of children and adults. With the vaginoscope
it is possible to see the changes on the vaginal mucous membrane and on the
cervix, or an alien body and its positioning can be seen.
Rektoskope MT 1100 is designed for basic examination in the area of rectum.
Amnioskope MT1200 enables executing of an amnion, amniotic fluid and

doctors in urodynamics and ultrasonography gathered into specialized company.
A full range of devices for Czech and Slovak market was produced, the export

The company was founded in1990. Since the beginning of its existence it targeted
on highly professional and quality service in the production and deliveries of braces
designed for post-operative and conservative treatment of damaged joints and
ligaments.
During the production we are permanently cooperating with head doctors of clinic
departments and also with relevant institutions abroad. The range of products is
being constantly enlarged with new products. ORTEX products are also used for the
first treatment of injuries in emergency rooms of surgeries, orthopedic departments
and traumatology centers. The company is certified in the quality management
system in compliance with EN ISO 9001:2008 EN ISO 13485:2003.
The products are tested in clinics before their launching on the market. During
its existence the company became famous worldwide in its field. The products
correspond with all requirements of technical and hygienic norms and the materials

Ltd. is the export. We offer not only our own range of products for exportation, but

Our company Sicar spol. Ltd was estabilish in December 28th
1993 in Sibřina village situated on the east fringe of Prague. From
the start production , the company is manufacturer of sanitary
vehicles mainly . Since 2005, the company has its own production

BU Oxycellulose is a part of SBU Nitrocellulose, which can boast
more than 20 years of experience in dealing with oxidized cellulose
and production of semi-products intending for further finalization
of medical devices (powder form oxycellulose), but also with the
production of final medical devices (flat forms). This product line
is called OKCEL® and the whole portfolio of these products is
classified as class III medical devices. OKCEL® range products were
CE certified in 2010. All of the products are produced according to
ISO 13485:2003. OKCEL® is used directly by surgeons during various
invasive procedures for the control of hemostasis of capillary,
venous and arterial small diffuse bleeding. After application of
OKCEL®, it can be retained in the body because this product line
is fully biocompatible and after 21 days is fully absorbed, without
any residues. As the raw material used for manufacturing OKCEL®
is natural, vegetable origin, it does not cause allergic reactions. Due
to the low pH, OKCEL® has the antimicrobial effects which promote
the healing of operational and other injury of internal organs.
Our portfolio contains also Chitosan acetate, which is semi-finished
product of an animal origin. Chitosan acetate is mainly used for
acute bleeding in the non-sterile environment (car crash, natural
disasters or military conflicts).

The Laboratory and Medical Equipment Division of the
company TRYSTOM spol. s r.o., was established in 1993 by
privatization of Development Laboratories and Workshops
of the Palacky University in Olomouc with the intention
of developing and manufacturing equipment for dental
laboratories. The ensuing success in this field meant
that the division, and subsequently also the production
programme, gradually expanded. Currently, the division’s

The Textile Testing Institute with the seat in Brno is an organisation,
which directly follows up the tradition of textile testing in the Czech
Republic. It has been providing services in this line of business for more
than three decades and is one of the key institutions focusing on testing
and certification of textile products in the CZ. This is corroborated by the
fact that the TTI laboratory was the first body to be accredited to carry
out tests in the CZ in compliance with European standards as early as
1991.
Testing
The Accredited Testing Laboratory performs over 300 accredited
tests and uses hundreds of methods in compliance with national and
international standards. The laboratory is ready to test any type of
fabric in any form. We test materials, finished technical fabrics, such as
geotextiles, floor coverings and many other products.
Product Certification
May be voluntary, guaranteeing the product quality, or compulsory
in accordance with statutory provisions, where safety of products
is assessed. As the Notified Body No. 219 and Notified Body No.
1021 TTI may assess compliance of the products in question with
the European directives from the point of view of meeting safety
requirements. For some of these products, inspection of the quality
production management is required and it can be arranged through the
certification of the production management system.
System Certification
Is accredited for awarding certificates in compliance with the
requirements of ISO 9001:2001 for quality management system, system
of environmental management pursuant to ISO 14001, and furthermore
ISO 13485 for medical equipment. The certificates are internationally
recognised, because they are awarded within the IQNet international
network. Moreover, TTI provides certificates in the areas of standards
for ensuring occupational health and safety under the title of OHSAS
18001 and the system of critical points of the food industry - HACCP
and industrial laundries - RABC.
The Textile Testing Institute carries out its activities according to
the latest methods trying to keep up with world trends in testing,
metrology, standardization and certification as much as possible. We

Zes Brno has been involved in the development,
