A Christmas Message From
Fr. Jack
CALENDAR RAFFLE WINNERS!!!
See next week’s bulletin for a full listing of raffle
winners.
C
hristmas is that very special time of year
when we thank God for all the ways we
are blessed. Know that the staff and I appreciate
the spirit of volunteerism, the love and the
support that we feel every day here at Nativity
Parish.
The Parish Office will close at Noon on Monday, December
24th and all day on Tuesday, December 25th and January 1st.
God’s Blessing in this Christmas Season and good
health and much happiness throughout 2013!
NATIVITY PARISH FAMILY TREE
The Faces Of Stewardship
Something new this Christmas season!!
Nativity Parish will have its very own
“Parish Family Tree” through the
Christmas Season. Each family is invited to
bring in a family ornament from their home
to place upon our Parish Family Tree. No
heirlooms or extremely valuable baubles
please!
Love and Prayers,
2013 NATIVITY PARISH RAFFLE CALENDARS!
Calendars are on sale in the Narthex every weekend from now
until December 31st. You can also pick them up in the Parish
Office weekdays during office hours.
After Epiphany (January 6th), the family claims their ornament
and packs it away until next year. If an ornament is not claimed,
it will be packed with our tree and used to adorn our Parish
Tree every year. So, to claim or not to claim is the question.
Cost - $20.00. Please support Nativity Parish!
$CRIP
Please sign the Parish Tinsel Book as a contributor to the beauty
of our parish. When you sign the “Tinsel Book” please include
your name and a description of your ornament. Family names
will be published in the New York Times and Church Bulletin.
Get your Christmas shopping done at church. We have gift cards
to fit everyone.... quick and easy for you, with benefits for your
parish. New this month: Seroogy's...a sweet treat sure to please!
We now have $25 BP Gas cards!!! Plenty of stock on hand, so
fill out your $CRIP form and take your order home with you.
Dedicated $CRIP volunteers are in the narthex after all Masses
to provide just what you need. $CRIP can also be purchased at
the Parish Office during the week from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Call the Parish Office at 499-5156 if you have any questions and
to check availability.
END OF YEAR CHURCH CONTRIBUTIONS
Deadline – 12:00 Noon – December 31, 2012
Contributions accepted only until the deadline if you
want them credited to this calendar year. We accept
credit card payments and offer on-line giving. If you have
questions, please call Vicki at (490-1352 ext 203).
WE’RE LOOKING FOR $CRIP VOLUNTEERS!
Would you like to sell $CRIP before and after
the weekend Masses? Perhaps you had a
change in your life & would like to help the
Parish (new to the area, new to the parish,
retired from work, looking for something
more to do to help the Parish). You can sell
$CRIP at the Mass you attend. It is very easy
and what a wonderful way to help Nativity Parish. Call Luanne at
499-4513 for details. Please consider!
ONLINE GIVING
If you pay your contributions by automatic
transfer, please check your bank or charge
card statements. We have had parishioners
call the office saying their deductions are
not being taken out. If you find you have
a problem, please contact Vicki at the
Parish Office at 490-1352 ext. 203.

The prophet Isaiah foretold the coming
of Jesus, the Messiah, “But a shoot shall
bud from the stump of Jesse, and from
his roots a bud shall blossom”. Jesse
was the father of the great King David of
the Old Testament and is often looked
upon as the first person in the genealogy
of Jesus. This year the Worship
Commission chose to display this image
in front of the Ambo (lectern) in church.
have been practicing in preparation of Christmas. They will be
playing before both Masses on Sundays, December 23rd and
30th. The group players are Emily Schultz, John Fischer,
Tommy Richmond, Brad Weis, Brian Hanes, Jamie Whalen and
Daniel Jablonski.

The following choirs and musicians are scheduled
to lead song for Christmas:

SACRAMENT OF ANOINTING OF THE SICK
will take place on Sunday, December 30th following the 8:30
AM Mass (9:30—10:00 AM). This sacrament will be offered
every fifth Sunday of the Month, following the 8:30 AM
Mass (9:30—10:00 AM) unless otherwise indicated. The
following are the future fifth Sundays in 2013: March 31st
(no anointing due to Easter.) However, March 17th is the
substituted date; June 30th; September 29th; December
29th. The Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament that is offered to
anyone in need of Christ’s healing touch such as those who are
in need of physical, emotional, or spiritual healing. Think of
friends and loved ones who may want to receive this sacrament
and invite them to this Mass.
CRECHE—Nativity Scene
A little history of our Nativity Set at the rear of church: This
beautiful Fontanini set was given to our parish eleven years ago
by St. Mary’s Hospital (Hospital Partners Women’s Group) and
the Three Kings were purchased by the Nativity Women’s
Guild. Again we are truly blessed to own such a treasure, given
that we are The Nativity of Our Lord Parish.
OUR LARGEST CHRISTMAS TREE
CHRISTMAS MASS SIGN-UP SHEETS
is absolutely beautiful this year. With the help of Jerry Wyand
who coordinated the KC Christmas Tree Sale, this 24’ Fraser
Fir, the three trees in the Narthex and the one behind the Crèche
at the rear of church, were donated by the
Knights of Columbus. Thank you
Knights for helping us celebrate our
parish’s feast day: CHRISTMAS.
Sign-up sheets are located in the Sacristy and Usher’s Room for
Liturgical Ministers wising to serve. Please sign-up today!

THE CHRISTMAS SEASON CAN BE PAINFUL
Are available at the entrances to Church. We would like to
extend a thank you to Lyndahl Funeral Home and Blaney Funeral
Home for providing Nativity with these calendars.
The joy of Christmas can turn into a time of painful loneliness
and emptiness for those who have suffered a loss or who are
going through a difficult time. But help is available. Our
Stephen Ministers are ready to provide confidential, one-to-one,
Christian care. They will listen, care, encourage, pray with and
for you, and support you through the holidays and as long as
your need persists. If you or someone you know is hurting, find
out more about Stephen Ministry by talking with one of our
Stephen Leaders: Laurie Prellwitz, 494-8399; or Laurie
Johnson, 490-1352, ext 209.
