SCHOOL AGE ENRICHMENT
Counselors in Training (CIT) (6th through 8th
grade) The camp environment provides a unique
opportunity for youth to build leadership skills,
particularly in assisting counselors with younger
campers. The goal of the CIT program is to teach the
general skills of leadership that can be used at school,
home and community, not just at camp. The curriculum
includes working with younger kids at camp, but often
includes community components as well. This program
give kids age-appropriate challenges that build their
skills, confidence and capacity for working with people
of all ages.

Healthy Kids Day™ Healthy Kids Day™
With a focus on youth development, healthy living and
social responsibility, strengthening communities is our
cause. At the Y, we believe that lasting personal and
social change happens when we all work together.
Every day we work side-by-side with our neighbors to
make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or
background, has the opportunity to be healthy,
confident, connected and secure.
When you give to the Y, you are funding life-changing
programs that help millions of children, adults and
families in the United States and around the world to
learn, grow and thrive.
encourages families to make play dates every day as
a simple way to become healthier, more active and
connected. As a leading nonprofit strengthening
community through healthy living, the Y holds Healthy
Kids Day each year to engage families, encourage
healthy habits and provide opportunities to lead a
healthy lifestyle.
Togetherhood Together we can make a
difference. Imagine the impact we could have by
inviting our members to strengthen community
alongside us. Sharing a sense of purpose, making new
friends, feeling good that we’re making our
neighborhoods better-this is Togetherhood.
As part of the Y’s commitment to giving back and
supporting our neighbors, Togetherhood invites Y
members to identify and lead service projects that
make meaningful change in their communities.
Guided by a Y staff advisor, Togetherhood organizes
committees of members who bring their passion,
ideas and skills for helping others. The committee
then plans simple, fun and rewarding ways for other
members to get together and improve their
communities. In 2014, over 140 Y branches
successfully implemented the program. In 2015, the
program will be open to all Ys that would like to
participate.
Togetherhood invites YMCA members to extend the
impact of the Y by identifying and leading service
projects in their communities. The program addresses
the social isolation, disconnectedness and lack of
civic participation found in communities across the
U.S. By working together in small groups, Y members
forge new friendships and increase their own wellbeing while meeting local needs. More than 150
YMCAs are engaging thousands of members through
the program, continually planning new projects and
expanding to more neighborhoods.
Your support helps the Y deliver on our
commitment:
 To nurture the potential of youth through building
confidence at camp, academic enrichment in safe
afterschool programs, or foundational skills and
values in our child care programs
 To improve the nation’s health and well-being
through combating obesity and chronic disease by
providing the support and resources people need
to make positive change
 To offer programs and services to children, adults
and families who need financial assistance
Annual Support Campaign 2016
Together, we can create a better us! The Y is a
positive force in this community. Together, we
take on the challenges that shape Western Stark
County’s future. From tackling the achievement
gap to teaching healthy habits for a lifetime or
giving people the chance to strengthen our
community through volunteering; everything the
Y does is in service of building a better us. Every
day, our community faces new challenges that
create a greater need for the work we do. YMCA
donors, volunteers, members, and partners like
you make the difference. Your gift can help our
community and everyone in it shine.
