I can’t believe Soroptimist International of Corona is celebrating
11 years with our signature event, “Chocolate, Wine and
Jazz”! Each year the fundraiser has received more attention
and recently won an award from our international federation
of Soroptimist. There are many reasons why this event is
always so successful! The community has embraced this
unique project, and our business partners join us in sponsoring
not only because of the event itself but for the many great
projects we support within our community. None of this could
be accomplished without the wonderful dedicated members of
Soroptimist International of Corona who give their expertise,
creativity and professionalism to keep Chocolate, Wine & Jazz
new and fresh each year.
This is our second year with a new format and facility, thanks
to the brainstorming efforts of our membership. We hope you
love the changes, adore the new location, and as always, we
thank you for your continued support of our effort to improve
the lives of women and girls in our community and throughout
the world.
Salud!

STOP Trafficking
Soroptimist International is raising awareness about the devastating and
complex crime of sex trafficking, which largely affects women and girl children.
• 12.3 to 27 million human beings are enslaved around
the world. Seventy-nine percent are forced into sexual
servitude.
• 66 percent of human trafficking victims are women and
13 percent are girls.
• In the United States, the average age of entry into
prostitution is 12 to 14.
Too few people know that slavery still exists in the 21st Century. A first step in
ending slavery is to create awareness, so Soroptimist International of Corona
has made a stance that we will no longer stand for human trafficking. Our goal
is to raise awareness in our community about the signs of human trafficking.
We have partnered with the Riverside County Anti-Human Trafficking Task
Force (RCHAT) as a non-governmental organization (NGO) whose primary
objective is to develop resources to educate, prevent, intervene, and treat
victims of human trafficking. SI Corona has made the hearty commitment to
educate 50,000 people in Corona. We have obtained materials from the
National Human Trafficking Resource Center for distribution in local areas
where people may be at risk of exploitation.
If you think that you have come in contact with a victim of human trafficking, call
the National Human Trafficking Resource Center Hotline at 1-888-3737-888.
This hotline is coordinated with local law enforcement in Riverside County. For
questions, please email Shawn Dredla at [email protected] or read
more about trafficking at SoroptimistInternational.org and Soroptimist.org.
We are pleased to share with you a NEW initiative from
our Soroptimist International of the Americas. Our Corona
Club wants to involve our community to work alongside our
members in our mission to “Improve the lives of woman and
girls in our local community and throughout the world”.
The LIVE YOUR DREAM Campaign has developed into a
community that connects people online to do volunteer work
that helps women and girls to live their dreams. When you
join the Live Your Dream community, you join a group of
like-minded individuals who dream of making the world a
better place for women and girls.
We encourage you to visit our website
www.liveyourdream.org and JOIN to make a girl’s dream
transition to reality.

Cotswold™, a wonderful creamy blend of English Double Gloucester
with chives and onions all packed in a 7oz wedge. Slice and melt
on a burger or grate and put in your macaroni cheese for a delicious
taste. Wensleydale is the perfect cheese to eat with fruit. Creamy
with an open texture, Wensleydale is one of the oldest cheeses in
England, dating back to the 11th century Monks. We take plump
cranberries and add them into the cheese to create a great, sweet
and juicy cheese. Somerdale Wensleydale with Cranberry is free of
artificial sweeteners and made with only natural ingredients.
Somerdale Cheddar with Caramelized Onion brings the best of both
worlds, creamy English cheddar with a caramelized onion pickle. A
wonderful addition to any cheese board or deli sandwich, you will
be wowed by how it melts in your mouth!

Tom’s Farms
His parents said that Tom wanted to be a farmer from the day he was
born in Kansas City, Missouri. He moved west in the early 70’s and
leased land in Lake Elsinore, then soon moved to today’s idyllic spot
in Temescal Canyon, naming his place Tom’s Farms. The produce
was fresh and the people were friendly and Tom’s Farms became a
favorite destination.
Tom eventually bought the land, and the place grew and grew.
In 1977, a hamburger restaurant was added. Today Tom’s Farms
includes a variety of shops, restaurants, and attractions for family
entertainment. However, true to Tom’s original core values, the
produce is still fresh, the people are still genuine, and visitors are
always welcome. Tom wouldn’t like it any other way.

Somerdale Classic English Cheese
Based in the Somerset town of Wellington, Somerdale is one of
Britain’s leading exporters of British cheese and dairy products,
from some of the largest Cheddar makers down to small, traditional
farmstead dairies. Tonight, we hope to help you discover a little bit

that we can offer you:
Cotswold™, a wonderful creamy blend of English Double Gloucester

cranberries and add them into the cheese to create a great, sweet
and juicy cheese. Somerdale Wensleydale with Cranberry is free of
artificial sweeteners and made with only natural ingredients.
Somerdale Cheddar with Caramelized Onion brings the best of both

We hope you
love the changes, adore the new location, and as always, we
thank you for your continued support of our effort to improve
the lives of women and girls in our community and throughout
the world.
Salud!
