Strong winds and thunderstorms moving through the area April 26 had Cotton Electric crews on alert working to restore outages and replace broken poles
throughout the service territory. Fewer than 1,000 members were without power
due to substation outages and downed lines caused by broken poles. Approximately 15 distribution poles were damaged during the storm. The majority of outages
were located in the southern half of Stephens County. In most cases, power was
restored in less than two hours by the line crews. Repair work continues on damage
from this storm and another on April 29.
