INTRODUCING THE PANTANAL
Brazil’s Pantanal is to South America what the Serengeti is to East Africa: a wildlife-rich ecosystem that showcases an
abundance of animals and breathtaking scenery. As the world’s largest wetland, this wildlife-watcher’s paradise provides
an unparalleled experience—and the best viewing opportunities—of South America’s magnificent flora and fauna.
Jaguars are more easily seen in the Pantanal than anywhere else on the continent. Other mammals of note include giant
anteaters, tapirs, capybaras, five species of primates, elegant maned wolves, marsh deer, giant river otters, peccaries, and
coatimundis. Nearly 650 species of birds live in the Pantanal, including hyacinth macaws, cuckoos, Darwin’s rheas, and
toucans. Reptiles include caiman and anacondas, and there are numerous amphibians and colorful butterflies.
The Pantanal is a World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve and also South America’s primary wildlife sanctuary. It is a
biogeography mixing pot featuring marshlands, river deltas, lakes, grasslands, and forests.
The San Diego Zoo’s Pantanal tour offers a wondrous wilderness adventure with our travelers staying in comfortable and
contemporary hotels and eco-lodges. In addition, we will discover some of Brazil’s iconic cites, from Sao Paulo, its economic
hub, to the frontier town of Campo Grande. Pre-and-post tour extensions offer the opportunity to explore the worldrenowned Iguassu Falls and Brazil’s most popular city, Rio De Janeiro.

YOUR SAN DIEGO ZOO ESCORT ~ GEORGEANNE IRVINE
San Diego native Georgeanne Irvine has devoted more than three decades of her career to raising awareness about
animals and wildlife conservation. By day, she is associate director of communications for the development department of
the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park, where she has worked for 35 years. In her spare time “George” is the author of more than
20 children’s books, including the Zoo World series published by Simon & Schuster, plus numerous magazine, newspaper,
and web articles. George’s most recent work is the coffee table book, “The Katrina Dolphins: One-Way Ticket to Paradise,”
which is a true story about 8 dolphins from an oceanarium who were washed out to sea during Hurricane Katrina and
dramatically rescued.
George’s passions are travel, photography, storytelling, Broadway musicals, and, of course, animals and
conservation. Her worldwide adventures have taken her to some of the wildest places on Earth—from the jungles of Borneo
and South America to the forests and wetlands of India to the mountains of China as well as the savannas of Africa and
Australia’s Outback. She is looking forward to exploring the magnificent Pantanal with our WorldWild travelers and is
excited to see such a variety of South American species in their native habitat.

YOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1~FRIDAY~SEPTEMBER 19
SAN DIEGO/DALLAS/EN ROUTE
The excitement of your trip begins as your board your American Airlines overnight flight in Dallas. (Meals Aloft)
DAY 2~SATURDAY~SEPTEMBER 20
SÃO PAULO
Arrive at the Guarulhos International Airport this morning where your
Classic Escapes representative is waiting to greet you. En route to the hotel
enjoy a city tour.
São Paulo became an exciting city with the arrival of great waves of
immigrants at the end of the 19th century, followed by migrants from other
parts of Brazil in the early 20th century. They were attracted by the coffee
plantations and later by industry and the service sector. In this way, the city
grew and new traditions took root. Today, the capital of the State of São
Paulo is an important economic and financial hub, as well as one of the main
centers for the development of news trends, culture, and entertainment in
Brazil.
Learn about the history of São Paulo by visiting the area where the city was
founded, and enjoy the Ipiranga Museum with its fine paintings and
beautiful gardens. It also has important monuments and museums, such as
the Latin American Memorial, the Portuguese Language Museum, Muse de
Arte de Sao Paulo (located on Avenida Paulista), and high profile events
that include the International Art Biennial, the Brazilian F1 Grand Prix and the São Paulo Fashion Week.
Continue toward the Barrio de la Libertad, bastion of Japanese immigrants. When the tour passes by the Historic Center of
San Pablo, you will visit the Sé Cathedral, Pateo do Collegio (School Yard), Monastery of San Benito, Anhangabaú Valley,
Municipal Theatre, and the Plaza de La República.
You will also visit the famous Mercado
Municipal of São Paulo, a haven of gastronomy.
There are thousands of food items for sale,
everything from fresh tropical fruit to seafood,
sweets, and even exotic spices from all around
the world. Walk around and savor the
wonderful aromas and flavors from the various
stands.
L'Hotel Porto Bay is one of São Paulo's most
elegant boutique hotels, offering luxurious
accommodations and top-notch service. Rooms
are lavishly furnished with antique furniture,
top-quality linen, goose down pillows, and
bathrooms that feature bathtubs and l'Occitane
amenities.

DAYS 3/4 ~SUNDAY/MONDAY~SEPTEMBER 21/22
NORTHERN PANTANAL: PORTO JOFRE
Today you fly to Cuiabá, the capital city of the Brazilian
state of Mato Grosso, a city founded during the gold
rush of the early 18th century. Upon arrival you will
begin your drive on the Transpantaneira to your hotel in
Porto Jofre with several stops en route to watch wildlife
and enjoy the scenery. The Pantanal is the largest
contiguous wetland on the planet. Declared a World
Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, it is
South America's primary wildlife sanctuary. With a total
area of approximately 54,000 square miles and located in
the center of the continent, the Pantanal is a
biogeography mixing bowl containing elements of the
Amazon rain forest, the Caatinga, the Brazilian savannah, the Atlantic rain forest, and the Paraguayan Chaco. This area is
an unparalleled wildlife reserve of spectacular beauty, an ecological paradise containing hundreds of species of birds,
thousands of varieties of butterflies, myriad brightly colored flowers, and shoals of fish. Capuchin and howler monkeys,
capybaras, toucans, anacondas, caimans, and tapirs create an aquatic and sylvan
theater of sights and sounds. The endangered jaguar, and increasingly rare
hyacinth macaws and giant river otters, all make their home in the Pantanal.
Your days here will be spent exploring this magical place. Typical activities
include boat rides (both at sunrise and sunset), walks at first light, night trips,
piranha fishing, and jaguar spotting. The jaguar is the third largest, and
certainly one of the most elusive, of the world's big cats. Few people, even
veteran researchers, have had the privilege to encounter this top predator in the
wild. Porto Jofre happens to be one of the best places in the world to see wild
jaguars, and although we cannot guarantee a sighting, it is highly likely in this
part of the northern Pantanal.
Hotel Porto Jofre is a comfortable hotel located at the end of the
Transpantaneira, in a town also called Porto Jofre. This is the starting point for a
number of boat tours offered on Rio Cuiabá, Rio Tres Irmãos, Rio São Lourenco,
and Rio Piquiri. The hotel is equipped with 28 bungalow apartments with a
porch and a hammock each. All rooms have air conditioning, TV, minibar, and a
bathroom. There is also an air-conditioned restaurant offering regional cuisine, a
game room, TV room, souvenir shop, broadband Internet, and laundry facilities.

DAYS 5/6~TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY~SEPTEMBER 23/24
NORTHERN PANTANAL: LOWLANDS
Continue your exploration of this wondrous wilderness as you drive back along the Transpantaneira en route to your
next accommodation, Araras Eco Lodge. Your drive isn’t so much a transfer, it is more like a trip outing. You are
surrounded by the beauty of the Pantanal. Amazing flora creates the perfect setting while the curious fauna will keep
your eyes very busy. Keep your camera handy as
surprises may pop up anywhere along the way.
Over the next two days you will have the
opportunity to embark on quite a few different
activities. Jeep trips will be the main form of
sightseeing, taking you deep into the wetlands
where wildlife sightings are optimal. Night drives
give you the added bonus of experiencing the
nocturnal Pantanal. Horseback riding through the
pastures, woods and wetlands is another excellent
way to get back to nature. Or, take a canoe ride
along the river and become one with this untamed
natural gem as you paddle along. Other activities
include piranha fishing, bird-watching, and
hiking. There are several paths giving you close
contact with varied plant and wildlife.
If you did not have an opportunity to see the absolutely stunning hyacinth macaws in Porto Jofre, you will be very happy
to know that you are almost guaranteed a sighting here. As a guest at the Araras Eco Lodge, you are actively participating
in their environmental preservation programs. Back in 1993, there were 27 hyacinth macaws living near the Araras Eco
Lodge and its neighboring areas. Today, with the support of the lodge, their numbers have increased significantly.
Built in harmony with the environment, without renouncing comfort, the Araras Eco Lodge is reachable all year.
Constructed in regional rustic style, it offers 19 comfortable rooms with air conditioning, screened windows, ceiling fans,
private bathrooms (cold and hot shower), a swimming pool with an adjoining covered area for meals, large verandahs
with hammocks, reading room and conference hall, gift shop, bar, and restaurant. The excellent regional food consists of
dishes made from the tasty meat and fishes of the Pantanal, as well as organic salads, vegetables, and seasonal fruits.

DAY 7~THURSDAY~SEPTEMBER 25
CAMPO GRANDE
You now drive back to Cuiaba for your flight to Campo
Grande, the capital of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. The
city’s nickname is Cidade Morena because of the reddishbrown soil in the region. Upon arrival, you are transferred to
your hotel where the remainder of the day is spent at leisure.
This evening you will enjoy dinner and a lecture from
Patricia Medici, a conservation biologist who launched a
countrywide Lowland Tapir Conservation Initiative to
establish tapir research and conservation programs. Duties
permitting, Patricia might even join you at Fezanda Baía das
Pedra, as most of her work and research is concentrated there. Patricia’s work includes the promotion of lowland tapirs
as conservation ambassadors and, as well as getting local communities interested in habitat conservation that benefits
many other species of local wildlife.
The Novotel Campo Grande offers 88 spacious and
contemporary guestrooms, with all the modern amenities.
The combination of color and style will give you a unique
experience in comfort. Dine at Restaurante 365, where you
are sure to find quick and personal service with a choice of
an à la carte menu or buffet dining on the weekdays. Other
facilities include a bar, fitness center, outdoor swimming
pool, and tennis court.

DAYS
8/9/10~FRIDAY/SATURDAY/SUNDAY~SEPTEMBER 26/27/28
PANTANAL: FAZENDA BAÍA DAS PEDRAS
Get set for another exciting adventure as you take a 6-hour drive through the southern Pantanal to Fazenda Baía das
Pedras. The drive will give you a wonderful view of the
Pantanal. One can often spot tapirs, capybaras, flocks of birds,
and other animals while driving through this land. Over the
next three days you will be in the southern Pantanal. Made up
of diverse landscapes, such as marsh wetlands and lush rain
forest, these ever-changing habitats are home to an abundant
concentration of wildlife.
Fazenda Baía Grande is a working ranch with approximately
37,000 acres, a large number of cattle, and the most incredible
variety of birds and animals. This charming lodge is positioned
on the edge of the Vazante do Castelo, an incredible natural
open field area abounding with extraordinary wildlife. The
Fazenda was founded in 1940 by José Coelho Lima and his
wife, Cyra Gomes Coelho Lima. The couple inherited a small piece of land where they lived and worked with cattle. As
the years passed by they bought more land and formed Baía das Pedras, on 37,000 acres. The two freshwater lakes with
gravel rocks and sand located at the Fazenda, inspired the name Baía das Pedras, or “Bay of Rocks.”
Schedules, accommodations and prices are accurate at the time of writing. They are subject to change
Without losing the original style and the warm
atmosphere of homestays, Fazenda Baía das Pedras
has the capacity to host up to 13 guests in its
accommodations, which are divided in three triple
rooms (for the San Diego Zoo group the triples would be
used as doubles) and three double guestrooms. The
owner’s room is also supplied in the event our group
is larger. All the accommodations have private
bathrooms, air conditioning, and a ceiling fan. The
food served is varied and plentiful, with organic
meat featured prominently as well as plenty of
beans, rice, vegetables, and salads.
While here, relax and enjoy the landscape. You will also have the opportunity to get close to the natural life and culture of
the place through the activities the farm offers.
Optional Activities:
• Horseback riding – Pantaneiro horses, raised at the Fazenda, are excellent for
tours on the surrounding forests and the Drain of Castelo. This place has the
biggest concentration of trees and a lot of animals can find shelter and food. The
Pantaneiro horses are completely adaptable to the wetlands. If you are interested,
you can follow the cowboys when they are doing their daily work and witness
their talent for roping and handling cattle.
•
Canoeing – The Fazenda has handcrafted canoes made up of “ximbuva” wood
(Enterolobium contortisiliqum) by people from Corumba, South Mato Grosso.
The piranha fishing tours are on Guanandy Bay, Baía das Pedras Bay and Drain
of Castelo. Birds, caimans, and mammals go frequently to the bays, mainly in the
early hours of the day, and at sunset.
•
Trekking – Paths take visitors to special places like the macaw’s landing area.
The bee’s way and another path along the Drain of Castelo are perfect for
watching sunsets.
•
Spotlight – A tour done at night, in a four-wheel-drive vehicle, can illuminate
caimans and other nocturnal animals. It is a special way to watch and listen to
the sounds of the Pantanal.
• Photographic Trip – this unites two passions, photography and observation of wildlife and habitat.

waterfalls. The Falls are the largest sequence of waterfalls in the
world and have been listed as a World Heritage Site by
UNESCO. Iguassu Falls are formed by swirling water, creating
a unique spectacle. The National Park of Iguassu is set among
exotic subtropical forests and has been declared a Natural
Heritage of Humanity Site by UNESCO. Although the Falls are
certainly the star attraction here, the surrounding forest is
teeming with exotic animals, birds, and insects.

canyon below.
Enjoy a boat excursion that starts and finishes at the end of the
Lower Circuit, which is located in front of San Martin Island.
The ride is made with powerful motorboats that pass through the Lower Canyon of the Iguassu River and around the island
to the foot of the “Tres Mosqueteros” waterfall, where you can enjoy a spectacular and clear view of both Brazilian and
Argentinean sides as well as the Devil’s Throat Fall. Besides enjoying the beautiful panoramic views you get very close to the

the Brazilian side. At points along the walkway, there is

the dampness will be well worth the views. Lunch today
is included at a restaurant nearby.

unrivalled boat trip that will lead you on an exciting
adventure at Iguassu Falls, where you will enjoy its entire
splendor. The tour starts with a drive through the

On this full-day tour, you will see Rio’s highlights, including
Corcovado Mountain with the Christ the Redeemer statue and
Sugarloaf Mountain.
Start off your day by taking the cog train through the luxuriant Tijuca
Rain Forest to the top of Corcovado Mountain. Here, carved in
soapstone mosaic in the finest Art Nouveau style, stands one of the
city’s most recognizable landmarks, Christ the Redeemer: 125 feet tall
with arms outstretched as if blessing the city. The statue was voted as
one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. Enjoy the spectacular
views of Rio and the surrounding countryside.
Next stop is Sugarloaf where your climb to the top of the mountain is

RIO DE JANEIRO: POÇO DAS ANTAS BIOLOGICAL RESERVE
One of the best-known rain forest conservation efforts in Brazil, the Golden Lion Tamarin Conservation Project, is a mere
two-hour drive from the city of Rio de Janeiro. The
golden lion tamarin (Leontopithecus rosalia), a
strikingly beautiful squirrel-sized primate, exists
only in the lowland Atlantic rain forest of Rio de
Janeiro, and is one of the most endangered
primates on Earth. All of the approximately 1,000
remaining wild individuals are found in the Poço
das Antas Biological Reserve and the surrounding
private land.
Your tour of the reserve will include a visit to the
reintroduction area, where the golden lion
tamarins are being reintroduced to their natural
habitat. There will also be an opportunity to walk

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT BRAZIL
Participants
•
Participants must be able to climb in and out of motor coaches and motorboats unassisted.
•
Participants should also be able to stand and/or walk moderate distances at an easy pace for up to a few hours at
a time when visiting sites. Some of this walking may be on uneven ground or uphill, sometimes at higher
elevations and altitudes that many people are not used to.
•
Participants should generally be in good health and prepared to travel in locations without medical facilities.
General
•
True adventure in travel can sometimes be accompanied by unexpected changes in conditions, itineraries, and
occasionally your accommodations. Participants should travel with a spirit of adventure and flexibility.
Remember to pack your patience and sense of humor! Be willing to look past self-imposed ideals of Western
amenities and do not compare these new experiences with your life back home. Travel often includes visiting
destinations with modest infrastructures and a bending definition of comfort.
•
That being said, some locations are nestled in absolute luxury where pampering is the norm.
Air Schedules
Choosing the best possible air arrangements for our travelers is always a challenge. We work with many airlines that
offer the best level of service, routes, and value for our programs. While there may indeed be more direct routes
available with another airline, the cost of these flights may not be within the budget that allows us to give you the
best value possible. If you prefer to purchase your own international air, please feel free to choose the “land only”
rate for this program. The start city for this program is São Paulo, Brazil. The extension returns from Rio de Janeiro,
Brazil.
Upon registration, you must provide your full legal name as it appears on your passport. In the event an airline ticket is issued
with incorrect information you have provided, you will be responsible for charges associated with reissuing the ticket.

SINGLE SUPPLEMENT: The quoted rate is valid for the first two single rooms booked and are on a first-come, first-served basis. If more than two
single rooms are needed, an additional supplement will apply. Single accommodations are not guaranteed but will be provided at additional cost if
available (see reservation form for cost.) The single room supplement pays for privacy, not better accommodations. For passengers who are
traveling alone and wish to share a room with another tour member, we will do our best to provide a roommate. However, if this is not possible,
you will be required to pay the single room supplement prior to your departure from the USA.
GRATUITIES AND TAXES: Gratuities for baggage handling, service charges and taxes imposed by hotels, entrance fees to all points of interest as
outlined in the itinerary. Tips for drivers and naturalist are not included. Argentina’s “reciprocity fee” to enter the country (currently USD160) is
not included. U.S. airport taxes are included in air costs.
CANCELLATIONS, DEVIATIONS & CHANGES
TRIP INSURANCE: Because of the array on unforeseen circumstances that could delay or cancel a guest’s trip, we highly recommend that guests
purchase an optional insurance policy. Information will be sent to registrants.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations are only effective on receipt of written notification. The following per person fees are applicable on
this tour:
•
Up to 95 days prior to departure, less $250 handling fee.
•
74-60 days prior to departure, deposit is forfeited.
•
59-45 days prior to departure, less 50% of tour cost.
•
Less than 45 days prior to departure, refund is dependent on amount recoverable from overseas suppliers, and may be up to 100%.
These cancellation fees are also in addition to any imposed by airlines. WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU OBTAIN THE OPTIONAL
INSURANCE POLICY. INFORMATION WILL BE SENT TO YOU UPON RECEIPT OF RESERVATION FORM. INSURANCE PREMIUMS
ARE NOT REFUNDABLE.
These cancellation fees are also in addition to any fees imposed by airlines.
CHANGE FEES: Once you reserve your tour, changes are possible subject to availability of air or land space at the time of request. Should there be
any change in fees imposed by airlines or ground operators, or additional costs incurred due to availability of any space, this cost will be invoiced
to you.
SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS: We would be happy to make additional travel plans for you, including specially arranged pre- or post-tour
extensions different than those that may be offered in conjunction with this tour. A service charge of $150 per person (over and above the cost of the
services required) will be assessed.
Schedules, accommodations and prices are accurate at the time of writing. They are subject to change
DOCUMENTS
PASSPORT & VISAS: It is the traveler’s responsibility to ensure that passports and visas are valid for the countries visited and for the
applicable time period, as outlined by the U.S. Department of State (travel.state.gov) or by the passport holder’s country. Classic Escapes, their
staff and their agents, cannot be held liable for any visas, etc., not held by travelers, nor for the cost of obtaining visas.
PRE-DEPARTURE INFORMATION: Upon receipt of your registration and deposit, we will send a pre-departure packet to you. This packet
contains all the information you need to prepare for your tour, including the complete itinerary, packing checklist, required documents, and
insurance information.
FINAL DOCUMENTS: Final documents and tickets will be sent to you approximately two weeks prior to departure, provided all monies have
been paid in full.
TRANSPORTATION
OPTIONAL AIR TRANSPORTATION: Round-trip, economy-class flights via DELTA AIR LINES and/or other IATAN carriers are between SAN
DIEGO and the destination city noted in the itinerary. Rates are based on special promotional fares; cancellation fees apply once tickets are issued.
Departures from other cities in the USA are possible at additional cost; inquire at the time of reservation. Please note that these promotional fares
are subject to 10 passengers traveling together on the same airline route and itinerary. If this minimum is not met, the special group rates are
not applicable and it might become necessary to issue instant-purchase tickets earlier than when final payment is due in order to take
advantage of airfares that are similar to the group rates. Should this occur, you will be contacted with the details.
AIRLINE SEATING: For DELTA AIR LINES, we request seats together for the group. All planes are nonsmoking. We can request a seating
preference on your behalf, however, requested seats cannot be guaranteed. Requests should be made in writing no later than 60 days prior to
departure. Bulkhead and/or emergency row seats can only be requested at airport check-in on the day of departure. Boarding passes will only be
issued at the airport on the day of departure. You may inquire about seat changes during check-in, based on availability, and it is at the sole
discretion of airport staff.
FREQUENT FLYER MILEAGE: As mentioned, we work primarily with Delta Air Lines. For a list of the airline’s partners, visit
www.delta.com/.../earn-miles/earn-miles-with-partners/airlines.html. You may obtain frequent flyer mileage on any of these carriers. Present your
frequent flyer card for all flight check-ins and keep the boarding passes until you receive a statement with the mileage credit.
TRANSFERS: Round-trip airport transfers are included in the tour for those guests arriving on group flights. If travelers make their own air
arrangements, they will be subject to extra transfer fees.
TRIP DETAILS
ACCOMMODATIONS: You will marvel at the wonderful accommodations provided throughout your tour. All rooms have private bathroom
facilities and air conditioning and/or fans. All rates are based on double occupancy. Most rooms are twin-bedded, but king-size beds are
occasionally available and should be requested in advance. Accommodations listed in this itinerary are correct at time of writing but on rare
occasions may be substituted for a different property of comparable quality.
MEALS: All meals as specified in the itinerary. Please notify us if you have special dietary needs or requests, and we will do our best to
accommodate your needs.
INOCULATIONS: When it comes to vaccination and disease prevention, we suggest that travelers first review information provided by the U.S.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (www.cdc.gov/travel) and then discuss those details with their personal physicians.
WATER: It is always advisable to drink bottled and/or filtered water when traveling overseas. Safe drinking water will be provided to travelers
free of charge in the vehicles and during meals.
BAGGAGE: On average, international flights from the USA allow two pieces of checked luggage, each not exceeding 50 pounds; however we
always recommend that you check your airline’s policy just before departure, as luggage limitations are always subject to change. Despite this
weight allowance, we always suggest that guests travel light. Also, soft-sided duffel bags are ideal for this tour, as they stow best in vehicles and
airplanes with limited space.
Schedules, accommodations and prices are accurate at the time of writing. They are subject to change

cost to itself at any time cancel or terminate the guest’s booking and in particular without limiting the generality of the aforegoing it shall be
entitled to do so in the event of the illness or the illegal or incompatible behavior of the guest, who shall in such circumstances not be entitled to

on behalf of the other person included in such a booking, and in the event of the failure of any or all of the other persons so included to make

PHOTOGRAPHY: The Company reserves the right without further notice to make use of any photograph or film taken on the tour by our
photographers without payment or permission. We guarantee that no photographs of a compromising nature will be used.
CHANGES TO SCHEDULES: Although every effort is made to adhere to schedules, it should be borne in mind that the Company reserves the
right, and in fact is obliged, to occasionally change routes and hotels as dictated by changing conditions.
REFUNDS: While the Company uses its best endeavors to ensure that all anticipated accommodation is available as planned, there shall be no
claim of any nature whatsoever against the Company for a refund, either in the whole or part, if any accommodation or excursion is
unavailable and a reasonable alternative is not found. If the guest is unable to use any service provided in the itinerary, then there are no
refunds due.
AIRLINE CLAUSE: The airlines concerned are not to be held liable for any act, omission or event during the time the passengers are not on
board their planes or conveyance. The passengers’ tickets in use by the airline or by other carriers concerned when issued shall constitute the
sole contract between the airlines and the purchaser of these tickets and/or passengers.
DELAYS: We cannot be held liable for any delays or additional costs incurred as a result of airlines not running to schedule. If one of our
guides is unable to take a trip due to illness, etc., we reserve the right to substitute with another guide. This agreement is made subject to, and
shall be governed by and construed according to the laws of the country in which the trip takes place. Classic Escapes act merely as an agent
for the operating companies. To the best of our knowledge the itinerary is correct at the time of printing. We cannot be held responsible for any
inaccuracies or changes that may occur after printing.
CONSENT: The payment of the deposit OR any other partial payment for a reservation on a trip constitutes consent by all guests covered by
that payment to all provisions of the conditions and general information contained in this brochure whether the guest has signed the booking
form or not. The terms, under which you agree to take this trip, cannot be changed or amended except in writing signed by an authorized
director of the Company.
INSURANCE: It is a condition of booking that the sole responsibility lies with the guest to ensure that they carry the correct comprehensive
travel and medical insurance to cover themselves as well as any dependents/traveling companions for the duration of their trip to Brazil and
Argentina. This insurance should include coverage in respect of, but not limited to, the following eventualities: cancellation or curtailment of
the trip; emergency evacuation expenses; medical expenses; repatriation expenses; and damage/theft/loss of personal baggage, money, and
goods. Classic Escapes, including their representatives, employees, and agents, will take no responsibility for any costs, losses incurred or
suffered by the guest or guest’s dependents or traveling companions, with regards to, but not limited to, any of the above-mentioned
eventualities. Guests will be charged directly by the relevant service providers for any emergency services they may require, and they may
find themselves in a position unable to access such services should they not be carrying the relevant insurance coverage. You must be
medically able to travel when you pay your premium.
The San Diego Zoo provides emergency medical and evacuation insurance at no cost. Optional insurance information will accompany your
confirmation of deposit. It is important that you purchase insurance within 14 days from the date of your confirmation of deposit issuance
in order to waive preexisting conditions.
