PRAYER FOR THE CHURCH TO REPENT
Heavenly Father, we ask that You forgive Your church of its self-righteousness and blindness to our own
sin. We have judged this nation and those who walk in sin and abomination. We have repented for them,
but we have not repented for the sins of Your body. We have looked at the speck in others’ eyes and ignored the
log in our own eyes.
You told the seven churches in Revelation to repent and return to their first love for you. America’s problem
is America’s church. Our churches are in crisis.
We have preached to please itching ears and have said what people wanted to hear. We have focused on
money, financial prosperity, and things. We have preached as if You are a Santa Claus. We have only come to
You when we were in trouble. We have only preached on Your blessings and favor. We have ignored getting
right with You and dealing with our sinful hearts. We have attended church with backslidden hearts. We have
sat under Your holy written Word and ignored the sin and unforgiveness in our own hearts.
We have pointed our fingers at the sin of homosexuality and ignored sexual sins in the church
of fornication, adultery, and pornography. God, we repent for our churches. Purify the Body of Christ and
cleanse us of all sin. May we walk in a new level of holiness and godliness. Release Your fire in the church to
purity Your people.
We repent of our religious activities and dead works. We repent of not preaching against sin. We repent for
entertaining and not edifying. We have pursued everything but You, Lord.
We lift up all pastors, that they walk in godliness and holiness. Strengthen each pastor to run for You and
do Your work. Let them not become weary in this battle against darkness. Help each man and woman of God to
stand for righteousness.
God, You are able to keep us from falling in this hour. May the church become the salt of the earth and be a
light in these times of darkness. You said that as the people operate in darkness, your glory will arise. May we
become people of truth and not follow men’s traditions.
May the church stand in this hour and resist the tide of darkness spreading in our nation. May we preach
the truth in love and stand behind Your Word. May we preach against sin without fear of man or persecution.
For if we do not preach, then how will the people hear?
God, may we walk in Your love to win those who walk in perversions of any kind. May ungodly laws be
changed or overturned to protect your church.
Thank You, Lord, for establishing Your church, building Your church, watching over Your church, loving
Your church, and protecting Your church. Overshadow every believer who chooses to stand for godliness in this
hour. May You extend Your grace, goodness, and mercy toward us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
PRAYER FOR OUR NATION
Heavenly Father, You have said, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” Our nation is blessed
because Jesus is Lord over our land. You have instructed us to pray and lift up our nation so we may live a quiet
and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. I lift America up before You in prayer. God, we praise You for
our nation that You formed in the earth. For You have made America great. You have made this to be a land of
freedom where we are free to worship You. I acknowledge that You are the God of America.
God, forgive our nation of its sins – sins of forefathers. We as a people have not honored and served You.
We have turned our back on You and allowed sin, disobedience, and abomination throughout our government
and nation. Forgive us of our rebellion, unrighteousness and ungodliness. Forgive our nation for enforcing
perversion in our land. Deliver our nation from all forms of illicit sex and sexual perversions that have taken
hold of our people.

Deliver us from other dark practices and works of darkness that influence our nation. We cast down every
stronghold spirit that is holding our nation and its people in bondage. Satan, we command you to loose God’s
people from spiritual blindness and deception, that they may see the glorious light of the Gospel.
We repent, Lord, for not being a praying people as we should, and especially not lifting up our nation.
Forgive us for our lack of praying for America. We have pursued money, things, idols, prestige and power.
Have mercy on America, oh God, and turn our hearts as a nation away from destruction. May this nation cry
out to You, go after You, and restore honesty, truth, godliness, and righteousness to our land.
As Moses prayed to You, Lord, turn from Your fierce wrath against the U.S., oh Lord. Do it for the sake
of Your elect (those who are saved and still love You, serve You, and seek Your face). Let mercy rain upon
America as we stand in the gap. You said that if Your people would humble themselves, pray, seek Your face,
and turn from our wicked ways, then we will hear from You, You will forgive our sins, and heal our land.
Deliver America from crime, drugs, lawlessness, anarchy, and drug and alcohol addictions. Heal us of
economic problems and social problems such as same-sex marriage, abortion, hatred, and social apathy
(the lack of love, care, and consideration for others). May America come to fear and reverence You again, as it
once did.
May those who are unsaved come to You. May those who have backslidden repent and return to You.
Deal with our hearts, oh God.
Deliver us from catastrophes and destruction, from tornadoes, fires, floods, earthquakes, and hurricanes.
Keep a guard around America from outside forces, nations, and terrorism. Keep us from those who hate
America and the freedom for which it stands. Protect our freedoms, oh God. Be a shield around us. May Your
angels encamp themselves around our nation. Expose every evil plot against America. You said, “No weapon
formed against us shall prosper.”
God, You said that the king’s heart is in Your hand, and You turn it whatever way You will. Turn our leaders
from all ungodly directions, influences, and instruction. Lead and guide them in all godliness by Your Holy
Spirit.
We bind every power and principality against this nation by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. We bind
every spirit seeking to bring down this nation. We loose them from their wicked assignments against America.
You cannot have this nation.
Lord, may Your will be done in and throughout this nation, as well as through the lives of Americans and
Christians.
God, we praise You and give You thanks, as we have prayed Your Word. We acknowledge that You are
faithful to Your Word, and You hasten to perform it. Because of You, oh God, America is blessed. Thank You for
Your protection, deliverance, forgiveness, mercy, grace, and help. In Jesus’ name.

Introduction:
WE CANNOT WAIT FOR THEM TO COME AFTER US!
Taxing the Church’s Tax-Exempt Status
I read a very disturbing Time Op-Ed piece a few days after the Supreme
Court’s decision that favored gay marriage. The article called for all
churches and nonprofits to lose their tax-exempt status so they can be
taxed and the government can then use the revenue for wealth
redistribution.
“Now is the time to end tax exemptions for religious institutions…
the government is subsidizing churches by not taxing them… The Supreme
Court’s ruling on gay marriage makes it clearer than ever that the
government should not be subsidizing religion and nonprofits…charitable
donations would drop.” (Google “Now’s the Time to End Tax Exemptions for Religious
Institutions”)
The Supreme Court decision literally placed the foundations of our society in jeopardy. So much is at
stake in this hour for the Body of Christ. We currently feel pressure, but at some point the pressure will
become persecution if the church does not stand now.
Religious Freedom at Stake
Not only is our tax-exempt status at stake, but also our religious freedoms. Pastors may be forced to
marry same-sex couples. Christians are already being penalized for their faith. Christian businesses that
provide wedding services can be sued. Religious universities can lose grants and accreditation.
Non-conforming Christian employees can be subject to homosexual diversity training. The Bible could one
day be legally viewed as hate speech. Public restrooms will have to accommodate transgendered men in
women’s restrooms. Our children will be subjected to mandatory teaching on homosexuality in schools.
Finally, other marital forms such as polygamy and even pedophilia will become legal.
We are in a fight for our very freedoms, and we cannot run from the fight. The church, the Body
of Christ, is God’s only voice in the earth. Yet, how do we voice our opposition to the issues that are
destroying the foundations of our nation?
The church has established no resistance and made no effort to say, “Enough is enough!” We have lost
control of the major mind molders and influences of society: education, government, business,
entertainment, media, family, and in some respects, the church. Many denominations are abandoning
biblical truth in order to be politically correct.
Our Threefold Strategy
The church needs a threefold strategy – speak the truth in love, pray, and take some form of action that
demonstrates our resistance.
First of all, this movement is not about attacking gays, lesbians, and/or transgenders. Gays and samesex couples have their rights and their freedom to marry. More than likely, that law will not change. This is
about the church and Christianity surviving a post-gay marriage society that could threaten our freedoms.
This is about doing all we can through love and passive resistance. We are against violence of any kind
committed against anyone in the LGBT community. Christ loves them, and we as Christians are compelled
to love them as well. Yet, any response or opposition against the gay agenda could bring attacks or
accusations of being homophobic.
We Must Demonstrate God’s Love
As we move to regain rights, freedoms, and respect for the Christian community, this is also a very
historic time and opportunity for the church to show the culture and the world that we are people of great
character, love, and grace.

The stats show that more than 70% of non-Christians think Christians are bigots, hateful, and insensitive
to others. It means the media has done its job of creating that perception. As we take our stand, let’s
demonstrate to the LGBT community and the culture at large the love of the Lord. Let’s show them that we
do not hate them and we are not against them. We can find the balance and show that we can disagree
without being demeaning to gays. We can show that we can be biblical without being bigots. We can care
for people without condemning them for their behavior that can hurt themselves and others.
We must be salt and light in the earth as more and more gay couples choose same-sex marriage.
Many will see the damaging results for themselves. Their children, families, and our societies will feel the
negative impact of the Supreme Court’s ruling. May God give us words seasoned with grace to share God’s
love with them.

Chapter 1:
IS THE CHURCH PREPARED FOR THE COMING STORM?
What is at Stake for the Church?
Many pastors and Christians are not aware of the immediate impact the Supreme Court’s same-sex
marriage ruling will have on the church, Christian businesses, and our family structures. Gay marriage will
change all of society. The church is not prepared for the coming storm. Below are some scenarios that are
now very real possibilities:

When a nation abandons God’s laws, it removes GOD’S PROTECTION. Over and over in scripture,
when Israel abandoned God, God permitted foreign nations to overtake their land (see Judges 3).

OUR CHILDREN will be subjected to mandatory teaching of the gay lifestyle in school curricula.
Many children will become confused about their sexuality.

The door is now open to ALL FORMS OF MARRIAGE such as pedophilia, polygamy, and other
multiple combinations.

PUBLIC RESTROOMS will have to accommodate transgendered individuals. This means that men
will be allowed in women’s restrooms.

PASTORS could be forced to marry same-sex couples because they are required to do it in other
nations where same-sex marriage is law. Church facilities could be used for gay weddings.

RELIGIOUS FREEDOMS could be lost.

CHURCH TAX-EXEMPT STATUSES will be lost for all churches because their beliefs will now
discriminate against gays and same-sex couples.

Churches with SEPARATE OUTREACHES and other affiliated businesses and organizations will be
affected. All who oppose same-sex marriage are subject to losing government grants and funding and
their tax-exempt status.

RELIGIOUS UNIVERSITIES, colleges and religious organizations who do not conform could lose
tax-exempt status, grants, or accreditation.

CHRISTIAN BUSINESS OWNERS such as wedding photographers, florists, or banquet hall
managers can be sued under public accommodation laws for refusing to offer their services in
connection with a same-sex ceremony.

Churches or RELIGIOUS NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS that fire employees for entering samesex marriages can be sued under employment discrimination laws that prohibit discrimination on the
basis of marital status.

All GOVERNMENT AND BUSINESS CORPORATION EMPLOYEES who voice their opposition
to same-sex marriage can be subject to homosexual diversity training in order to keep their jobs.

There will be an increase in GAY PRIDE PARADES on American streets with all forms of nudity and
immorality.

More and more Christians will be attacked in the MEDIA for their opposition and faith.

Biblical sermons on traditional marriage that oppose homosexuality could soon be regarded as HATE
SPEECH.

Christians will be subject to great PERSECUTION like never before. The following list offers
examples of people who have suffered hostility and hatred because of their stand for traditional
marriage. Please Google any of the names listed for the full story.
If We Do Not Stand in This Hour
I told a pastor some years ago about some of the things that were getting ready to happen. He said he
did not feel that God would let it happen. However, we often miss the fact that God gives man dominion in
the earth (Genesis 1:28). If we do not take that dominion, then God must permit what we permit.
God allowed prayer to be taken out of schools in 1962. Why? The church was asleep and allowed it to
happen.
If the church does not awaken from its sleep NOW, seek God in prayer, come together across racial and
denominational lines, stand for our nation and Christian brothers and sisters everywhere who are
suffering persecution, then we will all be subjected to the same hostilities.
The church is at a point in history now where only prayer and our unity in numbers can successfully
defeat these challenges. If we do not stand in this hour, freedoms that we have cherished for so long,
extended to us by God and the Constitution, will be lost forever. If our message on biblical marriage can be
labeled as hate speech someday soon, then many who are gay will not receive truth to walk in God’s ways
or to be set free. We should have the right to disagree without demeaning gays, lesbians, or transgenders.
God loves them. Therefore, we are compelled to love them as well and seek to win them to God’s love.
Finally, some form of resistance must come from the Body of Christ. We must also establish a strong,
strategic prayer effort in our nation, seeking God’s face to heal our land (2 Chronicles 7:14).
Pastors must be awakened to the challenges that are coming to the church.
Therefore, I am proposing a pastor’s symposium entitled Operation Wake Up Call that will feature
national speakers who will inform us of what is to come and how the church can move to protect itself.
You ask why? Psalm 11:3 from the Expanded Bible Version states, “When the foundations (a stable

THE ULTIMATE GOAL OF THE GAY MOVEMENT
AND ITS IMPACT ON SOCIETY AND THE CHURCH
The Homosexual Manifesto
An Essay on the Homosexual Revolution

This is outre, madness, a tragic, cruel fantasy, an eruption of inner rage, on how the
oppressed desperately dream of being the oppressor.
1. We shall sodomize your sons, emblems of your feeble masculinity, of your shallow dreams and
vulgar lies. We shall seduce them in your schools, in your dormitories, in your gymnasiums, in
your locker rooms, in your sports arenas, in your seminaries, in your youth groups, in your
movie theater bathrooms, in your army bunkhouses, in your truck stops, in your all-male clubs,
in your houses of Congress, wherever men are with men together. Your sons shall become our
minions and do our bidding. They will be recast in our image. They will come to crave and
adore us. Women, you cry for freedom. You say you are no longer satisfied with men; they
make you unhappy. We, connoisseurs of the masculine face, the masculine physique, shall
take your men from you then. We will amuse them; we will instruct them; we will embrace them
when they weep.
2. Women, you say you wish to live with each other instead of with men. Then go and be with each other.
We shall give your men pleasures they have never known because we are foremost men too and only
man knows how to truly please another man; only one man can understand with depth and feeling the
mind and body of another man.
3. All laws banning homosexual activity will be revoked. Instead, legislation shall be passed
which engenders love between men.
4. All homosexuals must stand together as brothers; we must be united artistically, philosophically,
socially, politically, and financially. We will triumph only when we present a common face to the vicious
heterosexual enemy.
5. If you dare to cry faggot, fairy, queer, at us, we will stab you in your cowardly hearts and defile
your dead, puny bodies.
6. We shall write poems of the love between men; we shall stage plays in which man openly caresses
man; we shall make films about the love between heroic men which will replace the cheap,
superficial, sentimental, insipid, juvenile, heterosexual infatuations presently dominating your
cinema screens.
7. We shall sculpt statues of beautiful young men, of bold athletes which will be placed in your parks,
your squares, your plazas. The museums of the world will be filled only with paintings of graceful,
naked lads.
8. Our writers and artists will make love between men fashionable and de rigueur, and we will succeed
because we are adept at setting styles. We will eliminate heterosexual liaisons through the
devices of wit and ridicule, devices which we are skilled in employing.
9. We will unmask the powerful homosexuals who masquerade as heterosexuals. You will be shocked
and frightened when you find that your presidents and their sons, your industrialists, your senators,
your mayors, your generals, your athletes, your film stars, your television personalities,

your civic leaders, your priests are not the safe, familiar, bourgeois, heterosexual figures you assumed
them to be.
10. We are everywhere; we have infiltrated your ranks. Be careful when you speak of homosexuals
because we are always among you; we may be sleeping in the same bed with you.
11. There will be no compromises. We are not middle-class weaklings. Highly intelligent, we are the
natural aristocrats of the human race, and steely-minded aristocrats never settle for less. Those who
oppose us will be exiled. We shall raise vast, private armies, as Mishima did, to defeat you.
12. We shall conquer the world because warriors inspired by and banded together by homosexual love
and honor are as invincible as were the ancient Greek soldiers.
13. The family unit spawning ground of lies, betrayals, mediocrity, hypocrisy, and violence will be
abolished. The family unit, which only dampens imagination and curbs free will, must be
eliminated.
14. Perfect boys will be conceived and grown in the genetic laboratory. They will be bonded together in a
communal setting, under the control and instruction of homosexual savants.
15. All churches who condemn us will be closed.
16. Our only gods are handsome young men. We adhere to a cult of beauty, moral and aesthetic.
All that is ugly and vulgar and banal will be annihilated. Since we are alienated from middle-class
heterosexual conventions, we are free to live our lives according to the dictates of the pure
imagination. For us too much is not enough.
17. The exquisite society to emerge will be governed by an elite comprised of gay poets. One of the major
requirements for a position of power in the new society of homoeroticism will be indulgence in the
Greek passion. Any man contaminated with heterosexual lust will be automatically barred from
a position of influence. All males who insist on remaining stupidly heterosexual will be tried in
homosexual courts of justice and will become invisible men. We shall rewrite history, history filled
and debased with your heterosexual lies and distortions.
18. We shall portray the homosexuality of the great leaders and thinkers who have shaped the world.
We will demonstrate that homosexuality and intelligence and imagination are inextricably linked, and
that homosexuality is a requirement for true nobility, true beauty in a man.
19. We shall be victorious because we are fueled with the ferocious bitterness of the oppressed who have
been forced to play seemingly bit parts in your dumb, heterosexual shows throughout the ages.
20. We too are capable of firing guns and manning the barricades of the ultimate revolution.
Tremble, hetero swine, when we appear before you without our masks!

Why the Civil Rights Movement Was Successful
1. READINESS – The generation of people who lived during the Civil Rights Movement grew tired of
racial injustice and were willing and ready to put their lives on the line to affect change.
2. PRAYER – They established the movement on prayer and seeking God. Many meetings evolved from
the church where prayer set the tone of the movement’s strategies.
3. ACTION – They understood that prayer and faith were dead without accommodating action (or
works). They hit the streets by marching, boycotting, striking, and other means of economic
withdrawal. They prayed and acted to get the job done.
4. STRATEGY – They implemented organized strategies nationwide. Lunch counter strikes, freedom
rides, and many other actions came from a centralized organization, Southern Christian Leadership
Conference (SCLC), under the leadership of one voice, Dr. Martin Luther King.
5. MEDIA – The Civil Rights Movement cleverly used the media to expose the racism occurring in the
South to move on the hearts of whites nationwide to stir compassion for their cause. Without the
media, there could be no victory. The media empowered the movement with mass communication all
over America.
A Christian Rights Movement
The Christian movement to restore respect for Christians and the church in the marketplace must
involve all five of the above principles.
1. The church must be ready to deal with the persecution that will occur when we stand for Christ and
our religious freedoms. We live in a world now that is trying to drive God and Christianity out of the
public forum. We must be ready for an antichrist spirit that will attempt to oppose us.
2. Scripture states that we can do nothing without the Lord. We must always demonstrate our
dependence on Him. Prayer is the key element that brings God’s favor and blessing to what we will
do. The giants we fight in America are great, but with God all things are possible. We are dealing with
giants in the media, the entertainment industry, government, the courts, business, education, and even
the religious community, as many denominations are abandoning biblical teaching. Only prayer is
able to sustain us and knock down every giant.
3. The Christian community must take some form of action. Many Christians are afraid to take action in
this fight for fear of possibly being persecuted. Also, Christians are looking for effective ways to stand
and make their voices heard. The question is, “How do we act?”

4. We must have a strategy in order to act effectively. What can the righteous do? This document
intends to offer a simple, yet powerful strategy that anyone can implement. May God also give us a
national voice that the Christian community can rally around along with many other voices around
America.
5. Just as the Civil Rights Movement’s strategy involves the media, so will this strategy, yet in a different
manner. The present mainstream media has purposely hidden the stories of many Christians around the
nation who have suffered persecution, fines, arrests, and/or termination from their jobs because of their
faith. Most Americans and Christians are not aware of these stories. We do not have access to the
mainstream media to offer us a means of mass communication. Once people are aware, then they will rise
up and stand. Therefore, our strategy involves forcing the media to offer fair and balanced news
coverage that will inform the Body of Christ and not be biased against our cause.
This book will outline a simple, yet powerful strategy that the Christian community across
denominational and racial boundaries can use.
One day the prophet Elisha was surrounded by a great Syrian army. His servant was afraid because the
army was coming after them. Yet, Elisha prayed to the Lord and told him to open the servant’s eyes so he
could see “that there is more that be with us than be with them” (2 Kings 6:16). The strength of the
Christian community is its numbers. We are a sleeping giant just waiting to arise. All we need is a
Christian community that is READY, PRAYING, and ACTING WITH A STRATEGY that will cause the
MEDIA to communicate to the world that Jesus is Lord.

THE POWER OF THE MEDIA
How Do We Define the Media?
For our purposes, media refers to the news outlets that report and establish the news.
Therein lies the power of the media – they can actually create the news. They can turn a
non-story into the big story and turn what should be huge stories into non-stories.
Media outlets include television stations and networks, websites, newspapers, radio
stations, and magazines.
Who Rules the Media?
The “fear” or “terror” of terrifying images on TV are having a heyday being released over the
air through the various news outlets. They are arguably causing more damage than the
actual terrorists, who have little influence without media cooperation. Rampant news
coverage of terrorism creates faintness of heart throughout the world. That it’s such a
twisted fear makes it particularly damaging and dangerous.
A disproportionate fear creates a false central battlefield. Fear of terrorism, disease,
plagues, or wars puts the hearts of men and women on the wrong battlefield and conditions
them to respond out of ungodly fears. It’s the fear of the Lord that is the beginning of
wisdom. All other fears only serve to advance Satan’s kingdom.
Bad news is Satan’s specialty, and twisting news is his delight. His goal is to flood the
airwaves with bad news, bringing the battle to his home field, where he can easily pick off
the fearful and anxious. After constant exposure to terrifying news, he can then easily inject
illness into our weakened immune systems. (The proliferation of bad news is known to
physically affect the heart and the immune system.) Satan constantly sets scenarios that
distract us from what should be the true battlefields. He uses the media to create infighting
and division at all levels of our society.

The continuous hostilities thrown at Christians and those who oppose the homosexual lifestyle
in the media has also brought fear to most Christians and has prevented believers from taking a stand.
As the Christian community unites and brings its millions of believers together to place economic
pressure on all businesses who advertise on media sources that promote hatred of Christians, we will
affect change.
Gays represent only about 10% of the population. So what caused 90% of the American population to
bow to the will of the 10%? The shrewd strategy of gay activists and its control of the American media.
The excerpts in the next chapter come from the document The Overhauling of Straight America by
Marshall Kirk and Erastes Pill. It outlines the strategy of gay activists and their successful efforts to change
America’s mind about the gay lifestyle.

HOW THE MEDIA AFFECTS SOCIETY
Government and Politics
The fear of the media hinders Congress from getting
things done. Most, if not all our congressional representatives
fear backlash when they oppose the political correctness
driven by the media. The media immediately creates negative
stories against those who do.
One state-elected official stated that until he heard from
the church, he had no reason to vote in favor of their cause. A
positive media campaign that favors Christians changes this
mindset.
Businesses (Corporations)
Corporation CEOs watch the news, and their primary
agenda is to keep as many dollars as possible flowing in from
advertising. Gay activist groups apply immediate pressure to
corporations when opposition rises against their agenda.
The state of Indiana proposed a Religious Freedom Act in
April 2015 to protect the rights and religious freedoms of
Christians. Immediately, the media announced all the
corporations who withdrew their support from the state of
Indiana, threatening to pull their business out of the state.
Even the NCAA threatened the college basketball tournament.
Why? Fear of a media reprimand influenced by gay activists
behind the scenes.
Courts (Judges)
There was no way the Supreme Court was not going to bow to
the political correctness of the media.
County Clerks
County clerks who oppose gay marriage are taking a stand by
not issuing marriage licenses because of their religious beliefs.
The media immediately exposes the names and faces of those
who refuse so they are picketed or even attacked and forced to
conform.

Entertainment Industry
Every entertainer who has made a statement opposing gay
rights has been bullied into submission by the media
firestorm. Some of these entertainers include: Tim Hardaway,
Beyoncé, Phil Robertson, Jerry Lewis, CeeLo Green, Tracy
Morgan, Chuck Norris, Miss California 2009 Carrie Prejean,
Isaiah Washington, and ESPN sports analyst Chris Broussard,
just to name a few. Once again, media attacks force all
opposers to succumb to the gay agenda or face the end of their
careers.
The Church
Mainline denominations such as Episcopalians are bowing
to the political correctness of the day because of media
pressure. When there are no voices in the media to resist, and
the only voices we hear are those that support marriage
equality, church leaders face immense pressure to make people
rather than God’s Word the final authority.
Education
School boards are also bowing to the media political
correctness. Rather than be trounced in the media, they
succumb to the pressure by becoming advocates for school
curriculums that promote gay rights or even Islamic studies.
News stories about our schools will cause parents to respond
to education boards.
No Resistance or Demands Coming from Christians
All in all, there is no resistance from the Christian community to stop this. Our power is in our massive
numbers. The dollar bill drives the media industry.
Suppose millions of Christians threatened to flood each advertiser of the various media entities with
calls and petition emails stating that we cannot continue to support or purchase their products and/or
services if they continue advertising on venues that oppose Christians. Christians must be urged not to
purchase any products that continue to advertise on these stations.
This will then force business owners and corporate CEOs to force the media to change their reporting
policies. Business leaders then become our allies in the struggle because they will support whoever
provides the majority of their business. The last thing the advertisers need is a loss of business dollars.
The last thing the media needs is a loss of advertising dollars. They will have to respond to our numbers.
The Christian story is not in the mainstream media. It is the vehicle being used to bring hatred,
hostilities, and persecution against Christianity all over the world. As a result:
1. This causes even more persecution and an all-out field day against Christians and the church.
2. There is no sympathetic compassion for the hatred and discrimination Christians have suffered in the
marketplace. If the media is unwilling to share our story, as they have every negative story involving
gays, then our story cannot be heard by the masses. People do not know how to respond because they
do not know what is happening. Our stories are rarely reported on TV. This is one reason why the
church is asleep on this issue When the media reports stories like the Confederate flag coming down all
over the nation, people respond. As Christians, we do not have that opportunity because of the biases
in the media against Christians.

3. The following are demands that we as Christian customers should make to every national or local news
media outlet.
A. Share stories on the air of Christians who are experiencing persecution and hostilities and provide
information about any issue that could negatively impact Christians.
B. Journalism should not be one-sided but fair, balanced, and honest when reporting about gay rights
or gay marriage. Journalists should simply report facts but not defend their cause.
C. Stop attacking those persons or government officials who share opposing viewpoints.
4. These changes will cause Christians to be alerted to what is going on in the nation and how they should
respond. The liberal media is purposely quiet on these issues to make sure that, while we are asleep
and unaware, they can make the changes they want to make to American culture, which they have
successfully done.
Politicians and government officials will also begin to bend in the direction of the dollar pressure and
the number of voters who contact their offices.
This strategy will impact every sphere of society and literally change the definition of political
correctness. Christians have either abandoned or been forced out of the public forum. Christians have
gone in the closet, and gays have come out of the closet. It is now time to stand.
When Christians are attacked for taking a stand because of their faith convictions, we must
immediately apply pressure to the media, elected officials, or businesses, just like gay activist
organizations do when they feel they have been attacked.
This strategy is not intended to attack gays or commit violence against them. Our intent is to only
protect the rights and religious freedoms of all Christians attacked unjustly.

HOW THE GAY COMMUNITY USES THE MEDIA
TO CHANGE AMERICA
The Overhauling of Straight America

The first order of business is desensitization of the
American public concerning gays and gay rights.
To desensitize the public is to help it view
homosexuality with indifference instead of with keen
emotion. At least in the beginning, we are seeking
public desensitization and nothing more.
[1] TALK ABOUT GAYS AND GAYNESS AS
LOUDLY AND AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE.
Constant talk builds the impression that public
opinion is at least divided on the subject, and that a
sizable segment accepts or even practices
homosexuality.
The visual media, film and television, are plainly the most powerful image-makers in
Western civilization. The average American household watches over seven hours of TV
daily. Those hours open up a gateway into the private world of straights, through which a
Trojan horse might be passed.
Bit by bit over the past ten years, gay characters and gay themes have been introduced
into TV programs and films (though often this has been done to achieve comedic and
ridiculous affects).
When conservative churches condemn gays, there are only two things we can do to
confound the homophobia of true believers. First, we can use talk to muddy the moral
waters. This means publicizing support for gays by more moderate churches, raising
theological objections of our own about conservative interpretations of biblical teachings,
and exposing hatred and inconsistency. Second, we can undermine the moral authority of
homophobic churches by portraying them as antiquated backwaters, badly out of step with
the times and with the latest findings of psychology.
[2] PORTRAY GAYS AS VICTIMS, NOT AS AGGRESSIVE CHALLENGERS.
In any campaign to win over the public, gays must be cast as victims in need
of protection so that straights will be inclined by reflex to assume the role of protector.
If gays are presented, instead, as a strong and prideful tribe promoting a rigidly
nonconformist and deviant lifestyle, they are more likely to be seen as a public menace that
justifies resistance and oppression. For that reason, we must forego the temptation to strut
our “gay pride” publicly when it conflicts with the Gay Victim image. And we must walk the
fine line between impressing straights with our great numbers, on the one hand, and
sparking their hostile paranoia…
A media campaign to promote the Gay Victim image should make use of symbols which
reduce the mainstream’s sense of threat, which lower its guard, and which enhance the
plausibility of victimization.

In practical terms, this means that jaunty mustachioed musclemen would keep very low
profile in gay commercials and other public presentations, while sympathetic figures of nice
young people, old people, and attractive women would be featured.
(It almost goes without saying that groups on the farthest margin of acceptability such as
NAMBLA, [Ed note – North American Man-Boy Love Association] must play no part at all in
such a campaign: suspected child-molesters will never look like victims.)
First, the mainstream should be told that gays are victims of fate, in the sense that most
never had a choice to accept or reject their sexual preference. The message must read:
“As far as gays can tell, they were born gay, just as you were born heterosexual or white or
black or bright or athletic…”
Straight viewers must be able to identify with gays as victims. The second message
would portray gays as victims of society. The straight majority does not recognize the
suffering it brings to the lives of gays and must be shown: graphic pictures of brutalized
gays; dramatizations of job and housing insecurity, loss of child custody, and public
humiliation: and the dismal list goes on.

[3] GIVE PROTECTORS A JUST CAUSE.
Our campaign should not demand direct support for homosexual practices, should
instead take anti-discrimination as its theme. The right to free speech, freedom of beliefs,
freedom of association, due process and equal protection of laws-these should be the
concerns brought to mind by our campaign.
The homophobes clothe their emotional revulsion in the daunting robes of religious
dogma, so defenders of gay rights must be ready to counter dogma with principle.
[4] MAKE GAYS LOOK GOOD.
The campaign should paint gays as superior pillars of society. Along the same lines,
we shouldn’t overlook the Celebrity Endorsement. The celebrities can be straight
(God bless you, Ed Asner, wherever you are) or gay.
[5] MAKE THE VICTIMIZERS LOOK BAD.
It will be time to get tough with remaining opponents. To be blunt, they must be vilified.
First, we seek to replace the mainstream’s self-righteous pride about its homophobia with
shame and guilt. Second, we intend to make the antigay look so nasty that average
Americans will want to dissociate themselves from such types.
The public should be shown images of ranting homophobes whose secondary traits and
beliefs disgust middle America. These images might include: the Ku Klux Klan demanding
that gays be burned alive or castrated; bigoted southern ministers drooling with hysterical
hatred to a degree that looks both comical and deranged; menacing punks, thugs, and
convicts speaking coolly about the “fags” they have killed or would like to kill; a tour of Nazi
concentration camps where homosexuals were tortured and gassed.
A campaign to vilify the victimizers is going to enrage our most fervid enemies.
[6] SOLICIT FUNDS: THE BUCK STOPS HERE.

will want to dissociate themselves from such types.”

THE BLESSING IN PROTESTING
Dr. King Encouraged Boycotts and Protests
During the Civil Rights Movement
At some point, Christians must make their voices known by taking action against ungodly businesses,
media, and government leaders. Sometimes, petitioning and boycotting are necessary in order to inform
various institutions that we as Christians are not pleased with their treatment of the church.
Jesus protested against ungodly business money changers with a whip. A whip may not work today,
but economic pressure will, as was done in the Christian Civil Rights Movement. God blessed their efforts.

delivered at Mason Temple in Memphis, Tennessee on April 3, 1968, the day before he was

Janet Jackson’s Wardrobe Malfunction
Wikipedia: Super Bowl XXXVIII Halftime Controversy
Super Bowl XXXVIII, which was broadcast live on February 1, 2004 from
Houston, Texas on the CBS television network in the United States, was
noted for a controversial halftime show in which Janet Jackson’s breast,
covered by a nipple shield, was exposed by Justin Timberlake for 9/16 of a
second, in what was later referred to as a “wardrobe malfunction”.
The incident, sometimes referred to as “Nipplegate,” was widely discussed.
Along with the rest of the halftime show, it led to an immediate crackdown
and widespread debate on perceived indecency in broadcasting, [1] and
resulted in a record $550,000 fine levied by the Federal Communications
Commission (FCC) against CBS, as well as an increase of the FCC fine per
indecency violation from $27,500 to $325,000. Additionally, some
commentators saw the halftime show as a sign of decreasing morality in the
national culture.
In the United States, the exposure of singer Janet Jackson’s nipple during the Super Bowl
XXXVIII halftime show in February 2004 led to much media controversy and headlines.
Media watchdog group Parents Television Council issued a statement that same day
condemning the halftime show, announcing that their members would file indecency
complaints with the FCC. The council supported the FCC’s decision to investigate the
halftime show immediately. In addition, the FCC received nearly 540,000 complaints from
Americans, with the PTC claiming responsibility for around 65,000 of them. In its appeal to
the Third Circuit Court, CBS disputed how many of the complaints were filed by individual, nonorganized viewers. Michael Powell, then-chairman of the FCC, was quick to order an investigation
into the halftime show.

A local Sacramento television station is experiencing a major backlash,
after an on-air interview with Janet Jackson and co-star/director Tyler Perry
– got seriously uncomfortable. After discussing their new film “Why Did I
Get Married?” on “Good Day Sacramento,” anchor (and self-proclaimed
jerk) Mark S. Allen asked Janet about her infamous Super Bowl wardrobe
malfunction. Tyler Perry continuously tried to turn the conversation back to
the movie, but the anchor kept hounding Jackson about the 2004 incident.
Finally, Perry fumes, “What are you talking about? We’re here to talk
about the movie!” Allen took one last dig, asking, “Were there any
wardrobe malfunctions in the movie?” Jackson remained Sphinx-like the
entire time. Fans of Jackson and Perry have flooded the station with
letters and e-mail – so much e-mail that loudmouthed anchor Mark S. Allen says he
personally received 19,000 – causing their system to “lock down.” Yesterday, the station
issued a formal, on-air apology and released a written one. Bottom line: Madea don’t play!

The newest Lotrimin commercial has people talking, and not in a good way. This current ad is
inappropriate because it clearly implies masturbation and is aired early in the evening when
children are likely watching. This is unacceptable!
The ad features a couple lying in bed when the husband accidently wakes his wife up while he
appears to be pleasuring himself. The wife asks, “What are you doing?” as she pulls back the
sheets. She then finds him using a long backscratcher to scratch an itch on his foot caused by
athlete’s foot.
Although the husband is only scratching his foot, the implications are terrible. Lotrimin, owned by
Bayer HealthCare, LLC, needs to know it is not alright to air commercials with offensive content,
especially when children are likely watching.
TAKE ACTION
Please contact Lotrimin (Bayer HealthCare, LLC) through our website and ask them to pull their
current ad immediately! Also, encourage them to be more responsible next time they decide on a
marketing campaign. If they would like our business, they must no longer air sexually explicit ads.

Happy" is described as a show about best friends Lizzy and Luke who are like family. As kids, they
saw each other's parents go through divorce and have ever since formed an inseparable bond.
Now, all grown up and still single, they've decided to start a family of their own, but in a nontraditional way. Lizzy, who is a lesbian, wants to raise a child with Luke by her side. Then one
night, Luke falls for Prudence, a free-spirited British girl who's due to go back to England in a
matter of days. Then, just as Lizzy discovers that she's actually pregnant, Luke announces that he
and Prudence have gotten married—and in an instant, a different kind of family is born.
The season premiere aired Tuesday, March 17 at 9:30 ET/8:30 PM CT, which also happens to
be the same time slot the network chose to run "The New Normal" with an extremely similar theme.
It is no surprise that openly gay Ellen DeGeneres is one of the executive producers of this new
show where the three will attempt to live together as one big happy family under one roof. It also
includes a good bit of pixelated nudity that leaves very little to the imagination.
NBC's "One Big Happy" is attempting to desensitize America and our children. This new show
is damaging to our culture and harmful to our society for a number of reasons. This program
glamorizes one-night stands, nudity, homosexuality and foul language.
1MM contacted sponsors of "One Big Happy," including Sensodyne (GlaxoSmithKline)
requesting they pull financial support from the program. It is proven this strategy works! It was not
too long ago that NBC announced "The New Normal" had been canceled after only one season
because of lack of advertisers!

Abercrombie & Fitch (A&F) has been well known for using highly sexualized marketing techniques
to lure young people into its stores...but that’s all changed now that the company has ousted former
CEO Michael Jefferies.
After 13 years of AFA’s campaigning against A&F’s trashy catalogs, shirtless models and
pornographic ads, the company has shed the tawdry image and is now making its stores family friendly.
The company has turned up the lights, turned down the music and cut back on the level of colognes
that shoppers are forced to breathe. “By the end of July, there will no longer be sexualized marketing
used in marketing materials, including in-store photos, gift cards and shopping bags,” Abercrombie said
in a news release.
A research of A&F’s website, Facebook page and other social media images already show a
refreshing change from just a month ago. Parents, and children alike, will find A&F’s offerings
respectable and decent. And...the malls just became a bit more comfortable to visit.

‘Sex Box’ Scrambles for Sponsors

On February 27, the WE TV network (owned by AMC Networks) aired real-life couples having
sex for a national television audience. Based on a U.K. show of the same name, “Sex Box” goes
where no other reality show has gone when its participants enter a soundproof box on stage, have
sex, and then discuss their “intimacy issues” with a panel of so-called experts, all in front of a live
studio audience.
The bad news is the program did air, but the good news is it had a “limited commercial
premiere,” and the program ended five minutes before the hour was over. This tells 1MM that they
had not planned to air “limited commercials” but that they may have had a difficult time selling ad
time.
Although the audience doesn’t see the couples having sex, the titillating premise that we’re
watching while real couples are engaging in an intimate act inside the box on stage is obviously the
hook WE TV is using to lure viewers.
1MM communicated your message to the network and advertisers, along with millions of other
concerned parents and grandparents disgusted by the show. Sponsors are aware that their actions
have consequences, and the majority did not want to have any part in this program after the
massive public outcry.

HOW THE CHURCH ONCE STOOD AGAINST UNGODLY TV
AND MOVIES
The following information is excerpted from the book The Truth About Sex by Kay Arthur.
It demonstrates how the church stood in years past to affect change.
People of my generation recall the renowned Ozzie and Harriet of the beginning days of
television, a couple who were married with children. The program was about a wholesome,
all-American family – mom, dad, kids all living in the same home. The show illustrated morality and
character and handling the issues of life with integrity. We enjoyed the program, related to its story
lines, and benefitted from the picture it offered of what marriage was all about: family. Yes, the
adults knew there was a Peyton Place. They realized that not everyone lived moral lives, but at
least those who didn’t were embarrassed enough to hide their immorality. It wasn’t condoned, even
on television. Why?
Years earlier, the motion picture industry had paraded rampant sex, violence, and all sorts of
immorality across the screen because it meant big box office returns. In 1933 Hedy Lamarr played
a brief nude scene in the film Ecstasy. That same year, the story line of the Barbara Stanwyck film
Baby Face included a father who prostituted his daughter to pay his gambling debts. America was
enraged! Concerned citizens determined that Hollywood would not corrupt our morals. The Roman
Catholic Church, along with others, began pursuing legal action. To avoid government censorship,
the movie industry began in 1934 to enforce the Motion Picture Production Code, which was
supported by a strong contingent of Americans – Catholics, Protestants, and Jews – who wanted
to protect America’s culture.
While they agreed that we all cherish the First Amendment (which does not protect obscenity),
supporters of the code understood the importance of identifying and restraining forms of
“entertainment” that harm individuals and society. “Among the general principles of the code was
the requirement that ‘no picture shall be produced which will lower the standards of those who see
it. Hence the sympathy of the audience should never be thrown to the side of crime, wrongdoing,
evil or sin.’” Also included in this code was the declaration that “the sanctity of the institution of
marriage and the home shall be upheld. Pictures shall not infer that low forms of sex relationship
are the acceptable or common thing.” It stated, “Many scenes cannot be presented without
arousing dangerous emotions on the part of the immature, the young or the criminal classes. Even
without the limits of pure love, certain facts have been universally regarded by lawmakers as
outside the limits of safe presentation.”
The television industry didn’t want to expose itself to the same level of controversy the movie
industry had faced. Consequently, any time the camera took the television audience into the
bedrooms of Ozzie and Harriet Nelson, June and Ward Cleaver of Leave It to Beaver, or Lucy and

The censors of those times were careful to make sure no man or woman were ever seen in the
same bed, nor would they even imply it.
Movies and Morality Today
How different that is from what we see on television and in the movies today! The sexual
revolution brought with it new sitcoms and soap operas. In 1968 the Motion Picture Production
Code was abolished; in its place was a voluntary rating system for movies promoted by the MPAA
(Motion Picture Association of America).
Then a 1978 Supreme Court decision further weakened censorship by allowing portrayals on
television of certain forms of content inappropriate for children – except during specific times of the
day when children were most likely to be watching. By the 1990s NYPD Blue was broadcasting
partial nudity and gross profanity without censorship. And what happened to the salt and light?
Where were the Christians who should have been vocally fighting such blatant disregard for family
values? It seems a great majority of them were enjoying the show!
Today, there are no twin beds in the daytime soaps or on sitcoms aired during the hours that
used to be considered family time. The characters on Friends hop in and out of bed, and the big
question at one point was, “Who is the father of Rachel’s baby?” What is the message the family
takes in night after night? What is portrayed as normal? Virginity is passé. Sex is expected to be
just a common part of life, the norm – whether you’re a teen, a swinging single, a single parent, or
one of the over-the-hill gang. Nearly every conversation is rife with sexual innuendo.
Gay characters participate in every sitcom and drama.
We see on television and in other forms of “entertainment” the excitement, the desire,
the passion, the pleasure of sex, but we rarely see it in the context where it belongs, within the
confines of marriage for the sake of a healthy and wholesome family. Unfortunately we see how
ugly, dirty, disgusting, demoralizing, and destructive sex can be – without the corresponding truth
of its beauty when experienced as God planned.
This story demonstrates the impact the church can have on the culture if we would just stand.

Chapter 9:
HOW THE CHURCH CAME TOGETHER
IN SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI

On Tuesday, April 7, 2015, the citizens of Springfield, Missouri, went to the polls to repeal a
regressive sexual orientation/gender identity ordinance by 51.4 percent to 48.6 percent. It seemed
impossible with a majority of city councilmen, the media, the Chamber of Commerce and the
national lesbian gay bisexual transgender advocacy group the Human Rights Campaign (HRC)
backing it with over $250,000. The city council was determined to get this through, even timing the
day of the original vote, October 13, 2014 on Columbus Day when every other city office was
closed. But against all odds, David defeated Goliath because the church came together and a
majority of Springfield citizens voted their values.
If the repeal effort had not been successful, Springfield’s ordinance would have created sexual
identity as a protected class, not only allowing biological males to use women’s restrooms/locker
rooms, but penalizing those who complained with a $1000 a day fine and jail time up to six months
behind bars. HRC has passed similar ordinances in over 250 cities across the country and in
Springfield even persuaded a few pastors to be spokesmen as they sought to dominate all media
with quotes like “discrimination is always wrong” and “Jesus taught that loving your neighbor as
yourself means caring for others’ basic needs.” However, people saw through the spiritual rhetoric
to the real issue–an attack against freedom of speech and freedom of religion.
There were many things that led to the successful election.

Some citizens of Springfield had been attending city council meetings back in 2012 when the city
council first tried to pass the ordinance. If it hadn’t been for these watchdogs called Live Free
Springfield, the city would have quietly passed the ordinance in 2012.

Calvin Morrow, a General Contract and Founder of Christians United for Political Action, was
invited by some already involved to track with them and speak out at city council.

Springfield Citizens United was formed and asked Calvin to be the spokesman for the group, so he
started calling the media and making himself available daily to them.

A notable pastor in the city saw Calvin on TV and called him, which led to a gathering of pastors
engaging in the process. Everyone realized there was no hope unless the church got involved.
There were only a few churches and no money.

Mark Gonzales, Ex. Dir. Of National Black Robe Regiment (NBRR) who had been tracking these
ordinances across the nation, called Calvin and a meeting was set up with 17-18 activists, leaders
and pastors.

Mark let them know that NBRR was there to help and gave some strategic organizational
leadership to the local efforts. Calvin said, “NBRR was a tremendous asset. I don’t think we could
have done it without them.”

A committee made up of Calvin, Dr. John Lilly (physician and chairman for Lock & Smith
Foundation) and Michael Tull, businessman and treasurer formed Yes on Question 1.

Although there was a total media blackout, including the Times Magazine stating Calvin could not
be reached for comment after they had spoken to him for 20 minutes on the phone, the committee
blogged and used social media to get the message out.

NBRR sent M.D. Sias to serve the committee on the ground in Springfield. MD’s expertise in social
media, databases and using lists for strategic purposes proved a huge asset for the local effort.
Calvin said, “M.D. went to 138 churches in one day. At first I found it hard to believe, but he had
contacted 138 of the 160 churches in one day! M.D. had knowledge that we needed and brought
energy and expertise that we didn’t have.”

The Catholic Church led by Bishop James V. Johnston of the Springield-Cape Girardeau Diocese
engaged. Calvin met with the Diocese lawyer early on and helped them craft a letter for their
congregations. The Bishop met with all the priests and then sent a letter to each of the
congregations and asked the priests to read it on Resurrection Sunday morning.

In the final days as the vote neared, an all-African American walk team led by Andrew Shannon
served as a visible reminder to voters that this ordinance is an affront to civil rights because there
is no comparison to what Blacks have suffered in this nation from slavery to Dred Scott to lynching
to segregation.

Yes on Question 1 delivered 4 x 8 signs around the city, many of which were stolen and
vandalized. The damaged marred signs demonstrated to the community where the true lack of
tolerance resided.

A total of 10,000 voter guides were distributed to churches and handed out at the polls, where four
candidates that supported repeal were on the ballot. Two of them won bringing the current vote on
the city council to 4 to 4. There is an appointment that is up currently for the 9th position, which
would break a tie.

Chapter 10:
HOW TO AFFECT THE NEWSPAPER AND TV MEDIA
About 8-10 years ago I read in a magazine somewhere about a church that had received some biased,
untruthful news reporting from the local TV news media. The church called the local station to complain,
but to no avail.
They found another way. They appointed people in their congregation to watch the television –
especially during the evening and night news coverage. They listed all the advertisers that had
commercials on their new programs. The church organized a call-in to protest using its members and
their relatives. They would call the headquarters of a company that produced a commercial on TV and
made a complaint in the following way:
“I am a frequent, casual or a prospective buyer of your cereal and I am very
dissatisfied with the biased news reporting of a station that you use to
advertise your product here in (City). Our church and pastor was slandered
unjustly. We ask that you would consider not advertising on this station; but
would instead advertise on TV station (Call Letters) whose reporting is fair and
objective to the Christian community.”
The magazine article stated that the church corralled about 450-500 people to make these calls to
various companies. Advertisers put in calls to the News Director of the offending station and threatened
to pull their ads if something was not done immediately to straighten out the problem. Some advertisers
pulled their ads altogether and told the station that they would be advertising with the competing station
recommended by the church members.
As I recall, the TV station’s news director contacted the church to apologize and aired a news story to
bring correction to some of the information that was reported. Some advertisers called the church office
to see if the church membership was satisfied with the station’s efforts to reconcile the problem.
They reported that they were. It actually changed the way this station reported the news forever.
When the church affected the economics of that station with their strength of numbers, it brought
change. Think what would happen if our churches united behind an effort such as this.
I believe Christians should first complain to the editors of the newspaper or general manager of TV
stations. If complaints are not heard, Christians should do the following:
Each church should gather as many writers and voices that can write letters and make phone calls to
bombard advertising businesses with our complaints. If this happened nationwide and corporations felt
the threat of losing money, it would change television as a whole. The church has the power to dictate TV
programming if we would only come together.

My Own Experiences of Petitioning and Protesting
the TV and Print Media
The Local Newspaper
I remember placing ads in the local newspaper on the Bible and homosexuality. A Memphis editor
attacked me in her editorial. The local news station aired a very unbalanced story on those articles.
They left me hanging and defending my article alone in the story. They did not feature any other person
who supported my views. Yet, there were at least three opposing opinions from the gay community.
The media has the ability to make a story out of nothing and diffuse an important story that is contrary
to their agenda. For this reason, in order for us to execute a successful campaign in awakening the church
and our community, we must force the media to be fair, objective, and balanced in their coverage
regarding our efforts. The following is the media strategy:
Before going public with our campaign, a contingency of 30 or more
of Memphis’ prominent pastors, both black and white across
denominational lines, spoke with editors and television station’s general
managers and expressed our dissatisfaction with their reporting
of Christian issues in the newspaper. We explained that we wanted to see
some changes. We shared with them the changes that we wanted the media
to make, and told them about the number of churches who supported us.
This is important because if the media reports our efforts in a negative light, many other Christians
and pastors will become intimidated. If we are shown as haters and bigots, we can potentially lose the
support of many, and those who are undecided may sway toward sympathy of the gay cause.
These protests are important because they affect the primary thing Jesus calls us to do: win the lost.
People today are subliminally being taught to dislike and mistrust the church.
Since the meeting with the newspaper chief editor and general manager, there has been no other
negative, unfair, and/or unjustified reporting against pastors.
Local TV Station 1
In December 2007, a local news station used segments of a message I ministered on the subject of sex.
I was answering questions that my couples had.

Channel 5 edited my comments and made it appear as if I had used profanity. They bleeped my words to
make it seem like I had used the three letter word “a--.” They were really trying to stir up the gay
community against me.
My members were infuriated and wanted to do something about it. We decided to watch their
programming for a day and list all of their commercial advertisers. We went online and found e-mail
addresses for all these businesses and sent a protest e-mail that threatened to boycott their products and
services as long as they advertised on that station. We even suggested that they send their business to
other stations. Hundreds of e-mails to over 30 businesses were sent online.
The businesses began to call the station asking what was wrong. I immediately received a phone call
from the news director who stated that she and the general manager wanted to visit my church and meet
with me.
They came and tried to apologize without admitting that they were wrong. They tried to make up by
offering to produce a positive story on us. It was as if I was David and had Goliath’s head in my hand.
The key was going to the commercial sponsors. They pay the bills for the TV stations. If advertisers feel
as though they are going to lose money, they get nervous and will fight your battle for you. I have never
had a problem again. Since that time, there have been other opportunities for them to do a negative story,
but they chose not to. Also, they have aired at least three positive stories about our church. Why? I knew
the secret to what controlled the media.
This is just one church. Think about what would happen if all of our churches united and conducted
protest e-mail campaigns to any media entity that tried to embarrass or silence us. It would bring respect
and force them to address our concern.
The media refuses to report news that conflicts with their left wing homo-secularist ideologies.
We must force them to respect the church so we can have fair, balanced, mass communication to the
Christian community.
Local TV Station 2
In 2008 I was involved in a news story entitled the Preacher’s Pads. The story exposed the homes and
their price tags of my home and those of five other very prominent pastors in Memphis. I and several
pastors featured in the story experienced vandalism to our properties as a result of the story.
The six of us jointly went to speak to the general manager. I instituted an email campaign through my
membership. Hundreds of e-mails flooded the news station. We even requested vendors to send their
business to other stations that would respect the church community. The next day the general manager
called and requested to come and apologize to the entire congregation. I have had no problem with this
channel since that time.
City Council Hearing – Sexual Orientation Ordinance
In 2010, the Memphis City Council attempted to push the sexual orientation amendment in the city
ordinance. Pastor Steve Gaines organized several black and white pastors to show up at their meeting on
the issue to express their disapproval.

I spoke about the Christians who had suffered persecution around the nation whom none of the Council
had heard about. We did not scream against gays nor did we spew hatred against them. We only talked
about how the amendment would affect Christians. That day, the councilwoman who pushed for the
amendment backed down and withdrew the measure. The presence of 12 pastors made all the difference.
Also, we did not mention the gay issue but instead emphasized the Christian discrimination issue.
The Impact of Pastors Lobbying Their Representatives
Interview with Jim Maynard, a Gay Memphis Politician
June 10, 2009
Harold Ford Jr., who represents Memphis, Tennessee in the
United States House of Representatives, used to like to portray
himself as a supporter of civil rights for all Americans, regardless of
sexuality, has suddenly changed his mind.
Caving in to pressure from fundamentalist religious leaders in
Memphis, Harold Ford Jr. voted for an amendment to the United
States Constitution that would have criminalized same-sex
marriage. In doing so, Harold Ford Jr. betrayed the Democratic
Party itself, helping to give George W. Bush an election issue
against John Kerry.
I understand that you have recently decided to challenge Harold Ford Jr., who
is the incumbent congressional representative for the 9th District in Tennessee.
How did you come to this decision?
Well, I actually was considering running against him in the primaries. I had been
hesitant to challenge him, but I don’t feel that he really represents the Democratic Party
on many issues, especially when it comes to Church and State and religious issues and
the military and the war.
What broke the back for me was last week, when he voted for the Federal Marriage
Amendment in the House. In the past, he has voted against such measures. He voted
against the Marriage Protection Act, which had something to do with the Defense of
Marriage Act and keeping judges from overturning the Defense of Marriage Act, which
he also voted for back in 1996.
All of his statements to gay and lesbian organizations and the people who have
gotten in contact with him is that he opposes amending the Constitution, that even
though he opposes gay marriage he does not favor amending the Constitution. Up until
this point he has been saying that he thinks that the Defense of Marriage Act would
withstand any court challenges, and that it wasn’t necessary to amend the Constitution.
He had a similar position to Kerry’s.
I think that what has happened is that he has been bombarded with a lot of phone
calls and emails from a group of churches here in Memphis. There’s a group that I have
found out about called Memphis City Churches, and I think it’s headed up by some of
the really conservative African-American clergy. There’s the Church of God in Christ,
which is headquartered here in Memphis, and there’s the World Overcomers, which is
a really conservative church.
They’ve been putting out big ads in the Commercial Appeal, which is our main paper
here, attacking gay marriage, but even going beyond that with very homophobic antigay stuff.

Anyway, they’ve got a coalition of churches, which includes the very conservative
churches here in Memphis, and they sent a letter out soliciting money to put ads in the
Commercial Appeal. My suspicion is that they just bombarded him with phone calls and
letters, so he switched his position.

Chapter 11:
SHOULD CHRISTIANS FIGHT BACK?
Many Christians believe that Christians should not
stand, resist, or fight for our rights. They feel we should
leave it to the Lord, and He will fight the battle.
Yet, there are times when God will instruct believers to
be still and see His salvation. When God gives that
instruction, we should obey it. However, throughout
scripture, God instructs believers to resist or fight.
When David fought Goliath, God did not do David’s
fighting for him. However, God fought with David and
gave him the power and strength he needed to defeat the
giant he faced. Why didn’t God say, “David, you should
not fight back. I’ll do it for you”? God even gave David
an instrument to use in his fight: rocks and a slingshot.
David said in Psalm 144:1: “He teaches my hands to war (fight).” If God was going to do everything for
David and Israel, why teach them to fight? (See Numbers 31:3; Luke 22:35-38; Genesis 14:14-16;
Exodus 22:2; 2 Samuel 1:17-18; 1 Samuel 13:19-21; Joshua 4:12-13; Joshua 6:7; 2 Chronicles 23:9-10;
Nehemiah 4:17; Ezekiel 9:1-2; 1 Samuel 21:8).
Does this mean we need to get actual weapons to fight? No. However, God sometimes expects His
people to stand against an enemy and resist with a weapon. In our case, the weapon will be economic
withdrawal through petitioning, resisting, protesting, or speaking out. God does not want His people to be
passive when it comes to us protecting ourselves. Our intent in fighting and standing is to protect our
rights as Christians.
God gives man dominion (authority or rule) in the earth. If we do not use it, then God will not do it for
us. Many have erroneously believed that God will take care of everything and that He would not allow gay
marriage to happen. Well, it happened, just like God did not stop prayer from being removed from
schools. The church stood by and did nothing. The clergy has abandoned the gates, and now evil has come
upon our nation. The church has watched the evil approaching and has remained silent. Adolf Hitler saw
this happening in Germany. It resulted in weakness of the people. They stood by and did nothing.
The clergy abandoned their sacred duty to be watchmen and fight back. Germany and the world paid a
horrible price. Christians offered no resistance to government. The Christian culture of our God-given free
country is being eradicated. We are losing God’s blessing, favor, hand of protection, superpower status,
and freedoms.

Conservatives Send More Than 1,000 Bibles to Houston Mayor

The mayor’s office of the city of Houston in Texas confirmed Thursday that conservatives
sent in more than 1,000 Bibles to the city’s first openly gay mayor, Annise Parker, in protest
after the sermons of five local pastors were subpoenaed in a legal dispute over a controversial
ordinance some say will allow men to use women’s restrooms in the city.
Earlier reports noted that city officials in Houston were upset over a voter lawsuit filed after
the Houston City Council rejected valid petitions to repeal the city’s controversial Equal Rights
Ordinance, which allows men who identify as female to use women’s restrooms, and women
who identify as male to use men’s restrooms.
When Parker announced Wednesday that she has asked her legal department to withdraw
the subpoenas, hundreds of Bibles had already been sent to her office.
Conservatives and pastors were encouraged by former GOP presidential candidate Mike
Huckabee to send her Bibles and copies of their sermons in protest of what the city’s lawyers
did to the pastors who are not party to the voter lawsuit.
“We have about 1,000 (Bibles) maybe a little more than 1,000,” explained Darian Ward,
press secretary for the mayor’s office, told The Christian Post Thursday. She said she was not
sure how many, if any, were sent in on Thursday or the day before, but explained that they plan
on donating the Bibles to people who need them.

When asked how the mayor’s office felt about the Bibles, she said: “Well, it’s a good thing
because we have them to donate to organizations that need them.”
At a press conference Wednesday where she was flanked by several local pastors,
Parker announced that the city’s legal department had withdrawn the subpoenas against the
pastors who are spearheading a campaign to repeal the controversial Houston Equal Rights
Ordinance, also known by the acronym, HERO.
“This is an issue that has weighed heavily on my mind for the last two weeks,” said Parker.
“Protecting the HERO from being repealed is important to Houston, but I also understand the
concerns of the religious community regarding the subpoenas. After two meetings yesterday,
I decided that withdrawing the subpoenas is the right thing to do. It addresses the concerns of
ministers across the country who viewed the move as overreaching. It is also the right move for
our city.”
Reacting to the withdrawal of the subpoenas Wednesday, Huckabee noted in a post on his
Facebook page that: “The Houston mayor took her finger off the trigger of the gun pointed at
pastors’ heads, but she needs to unload the gun completely and allow the people of Houston to
vote. And an apology to the pastors and their churches would be nice, along with a promise to
read the Constitution and maybe she will realize that government doesn’t get to approve how
much religious liberty people have in America.”
Lone Star Supremes Stand Up for the People

Good news from the Texas Supreme Court today. As you may recall, Houston
Mayor, Annise Parker, and the Houston City Council passed a controversial pro-LGBT
ordinance in late May 2014. Among other things, the law, the Houston Equal Rights
Ordinance -- dubbed "HERO" -- allowed transgendered persons to sue businesses that
prohibited their use of their preferred bathroom. There was overwhelming opposition to
the law in Houston and that triggered an effort by the citizens to repeal HERO by
referendum.
The repeal campaign was led primarily by a group of Houston pastors and churches who
collected twice the number of signatures required to get the repeal option on the ballot.
According to the city secretary, Anna Russell, the petitioners collected a sufficient number of
signatures. However, the Mayor and the City Attorney, David Feldman, defiantly refused to
recognize that a sufficient number of signatures had been collected.
This decision led to the pastors and churches suing the City. Along the way, the city
administration issued subpoenas in mid-October 2014 to the five Houston pastors who delivered
the petitions. The First Amendment-crushing subpoenas instructed the pastors to provide
documents in their possession -- including sermons, emails, instant messages, text messages
and other materials -- that related to HERO. A national firestorm ensued. In fact, on November
2, 2014, Family Research Council led an effort along with sponsoring organizations and other
partners to support the pastors and those seeking repeal by holding a national simulcast from
Grace Community Church in Houston. The "I Stand Sunday" event drew over 7,000 attendees
and was joined by hundreds of thousands via the internet.
The City rescinded the subpoenas in late October, but the litigation continued. Amazingly,
three months ago a Texas district court judge ruled that the petitioners had failed to gather
enough valid signatures to get the repeal measure on the ballot. Things looked bleak.
Well, today, the Texas Supreme Court overturned that decision. The Court concluded that
the City Secretary had certified the petition and that brought the "City Council's ministerial duty"
to go through the repeal process into effect. The Court held that the Houston City Council must
stop enforcement of HERO and reconsider the ordinance.

If it does not repeal HERO by August 24, 2015, then by that date "the City Council must order
that the ordinance be put to popular vote during the November 2015 election."
This is a tremendous victory for the rule of law in Houston. That said, this onerous antiHERO of an ordinance is still on the books. The Mayor and city government had acted
dishonorably to thwart the will of the people when they disallowed petition signatures, but, more
dangerously, the subpoenas issued to the pastors were meant to intimidate political opposition
and free speech.
Fortunately, Texas has a state supreme court with sufficient honesty and integrity to call a
halt to this political thuggery. Many states, however, do not. In the meantime, the people of
Houston need to mobilize for the repeal vote that lies ahead. But for today, this is a vivid
reminder of Galatians 6:9, "And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we
shall reap if we do not lose heart."

Chapter 14:
HOW TO RESPOND TO OBJECTIONS TO ONE-MAN,
ONE-WOMAN MARRIAGE
The following leaflet is being distributed to students on college campuses. It attempts to use the Bible
to defend homosexuality.
The Answers to “So You Still Think Homosexuality is Sinful,
and Therefore Gays Shouldn’t Be Allowed to Marry?”
1. BECAUSE JESUS SAID SO! Jesus did address homosexuality but not in today’s modern
terms. The word sex itself is not in the bible, but we know the Bible talks about sexual relationships in
the biblical terminology of its day.

The word for homosexuality during biblical days was Sodom or sodomite. Jesus mentions God’s
judgment of Sodom (Genesis 19:4-9, 24-25), where all the men of the city wanted to lay with other
men. This had nothing to do with male prostitution. It talked about all the men wanting to lay with
men. All the men were not male prostitutes. Jesus mentions this judgment at least five (5) times in the
New Testament to affirm what God had done (Matthew 10:15, Matthew 11:23-24, Mark 6:11,
Luke 10:12, Luke 17:28-29). Sodom was the biblical representation of homosexuality.
2. BECAUSE THE OLD TESTAMENT SAID SO – Not only does the Old Testament say so, but the
bible denounces homosexuality throughout. Wherever homosexuality is mentioned it is associated
with evil, judgment, or an abomination. There is not one scripture where God ordains or sanctions
same sex relationships or marriage. If it were meant by God and He created it to be so, show me one
passage where God approves it, permits it or allows it. The Old Testament kings would not permit
homosexuality at any time. God only honors the sexual relationship of a man and woman in
marriage. Please see the following scriptures for proof: Leviticus 18:22, Leviticus 20:13,
Deuteronomy 29:23, Deuteronomy 23:17, I Kings 14:24, I Kings 15:12, I Kings 22:46, II Kings 23:7,
Romans 1:26-32, I Corinthians 6:9-11, I Tim.1:10 ESV, Mark 10:6-9, Jude 7, Revelation 21:8,
Galatians 5:19-21, I Corinthians 7:2-5, II Peter 2:6.
The Old Testament says it is sinful to eat shell fish, wear clothes woven in different fabric and to eat
pork. These laws were all a part of God’s ceremonial laws for the Jewish people, but they expired with
the priestly work of Jesus and after He died on the cross and rose from the grave (Hebrews 10). These
ceremonial laws are no more, but God’s moral laws which deal with God’s sexual morals are still for
today and have never expired, just like adultery and fornication are still wrong for today. In the New
Testament for example, we are now told under grace that we can eat any meat that we want to
(I Timothy 4:3-4). The problem is, people don’t know how to RIGHTLY DIVIDE GOD’S WORD.
Some things were only for the Jews who were under those ceremonial laws, but are not for the church
today that is under grace. But again, those sexual laws are moral issues that are still for today for all
nations and all mankind. No, we should not live by the Old Testament ceremonial laws, only God’s
moral laws for today. That is why homosexuality, adultery, fornication and all sexual sins are
mentioned again in the New Testament, and shell fish, certain clothing and pork are not.
3. BECAUSE THE NEW TESTAMENT SAYS SO! The New Testament does condemn same-sex
relationships as a whole. Paul does explicitly explain what same-sex relationships are in the eyes of
God. This is why they try to pivot and bring something else up to counter with. They cannot get
around Paul’s description of homosexuality. Notice this time they do not try to limit Paul’s teachings
to male prostitution, because he deals with homosexuality as a whole. This is what Paul said in the
New Testament in Romans 1:26-28 in the Amplified Bible.

26 For this reason God gave them over and abandoned them to vile affections
and degrading passions. For their women exchanged their natural function
for an unnatural and abnormal one, 27 And the men also turned from natural
relations with women and were set ablaze (burning out, consumed) with lust
for one another—men committing shameful acts with men and suffering in
their own [a]bodies and personalities the inevitable consequences and penalty
of their wrong-doing and going astray, which was [their] fitting retribution.
28 And so, since they did not see fit to acknowledge God or approve of Him or
consider Him worth the knowing, God gave them over to a base and
condemned mind to do things not proper or decent but loathsome,
Notice the words used to describe homosexuality, VILE AFFECTIONS, DEGRADING PASSIONS,
UNNATURAL, ABNORMAL, BURNING OUT AND CONSUMED WITH LUST, SHAMEFUL ACTS.
The last line in verse 28 explains why there is an attack on truth, the Bible and Christianity:
“THEY DID NOT SEE FIT TO ACKNOWLEDGE GOD OR APPROVE OF HIM.”

They did not want the knowledge of God or His truth. Paul’s passages of women being silent was not
that they could never say anything, it was about during the times the gifts of the Spirit were in
operation the women were talking and interrupting what the Spirit was trying to say. Notice Paul
permitted the women to pray and prophesy in the church (I Corinthians 11:5). Phebe was assigned by
Paul to have authority over the men and the entire church to serve God in Romans 16:1-3. No, they
cannot get around the clear teaching from scripture that homosexuality is wrong and sinful.
Jude 7 says that Sodom (Genesis 19:4-7) was an example of immorality and perversion and all who do
it will suffer God’s judgment. II Peter 2:6 states that Sodom was an example of what will happen to the
ungodly, so God calls homosexuality UNGODLY, MEANING IT IS NOT OF GOD.
4. BECAUSE GOD MADE ADAM AND EVE, NOT ADAM AND STEVE. But Adam and Eve
represent one man and one woman. This is what God sanctions and mentions throughout
scripture. God never sanctions an Adam and Steve situation anywhere. If it was of God, and God
approved of it, then He would have allowed it somewhere in scripture. Find one case in scripture.
God says in Matthew 19:5-6 who He puts together: MAN AND WIFE, MOTHER AND FATHER. Then
He says that this is what HE JOINS TOGETHER. He never says he joins together two men or two
women. God chose only the one-man, one-woman relationship to reflect his relationship with the
church, not two men or two women (Ephesians 5:22-29). Jesus is called the bridegroom and the
church is called the bride of Christ.
5. BECAUSE THE BIBLE CLEARLY DEFINES MARRIAGE AS ONE MAN, ONE WOMAN Even though there are instances in the Old Testament where God permitted one man with many
women or concubines, notice they were all man-woman relationships, never man-man or womanwoman relationships, which still helps prove the point that, even in polygamy God only allowed male
and female sexual relationships. Today, under the New Testament, which the church is to live by, man
is called to have only ONE WIFE, and a woman is to have ONE HUSBAND (I Corinthians 7:2-5,
I Timothy 3:2, Titus 1:6). The Bible has always been against rape. It may have happened in scripture
but it was condemned by God still (Genesis 34; Deuteronomy 22:23-29). If you want to learn more

6. BECAUSE IT JUST DISGUSTS ME, DANGIT- Whatever disgust God disgusts me. God calls
homosexuality an abomination, which means it is a sin that is disgusting to God. Whatever God calls
evil, and whatever sin God hates, I am called to hate it, too (not the people involved, but the sin)
(Proverbs 8:13).
In conclusion, these are all arguments that the gay community uses to bring distrust of the Bible. They
are looking for a way to carry out their sin without having to deal with God’s judgment. No matter what
argument they bring up, it can be disproven because their arguments do not line up with scripture. This is
what the Bible calls HANDLING THE WORD OF GOD DECEITFULLY (2 Corinthians 4:2). The Bible
also states in Revelation 22:18-19 that if any person tries to add or take away from the words written in
this book, then they will receive a plague and take away their part from the Book of Life and the Holy City
(Heaven). Stay on the right path. DO NOT BE DECEIVED (Galatians 6:7).

Chapter 15:
WHAT THE BIBLE TEACHES ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY
Nowhere in scripture is homosexuality condoned. Every time it is mentioned, it is associated with
condemnation, judgment, wickedness, evil, or an abomination. If God intended it, then it would be
mentioned positively in scripture. The Bible never mentions same-sex marriage because he already
condemned the sexual relationship of two people of the same sex.
1. God judged Sodom because of the sin of homosexuality (Genesis 19:4-7, 24-25, NIV).
2. God calls homosexuality an abomination (Leviticus 18:22, NLT).
3. God states that both persons involved have committed abomination (Leviticus 20:13 NLT).
4. God judged Sodom and Gomorrah (Deuteronomy 29:23 NLT).
5. Homosexuality is not allowed in Israel (Deuteronomy 23:17 NLT).
6. Homosexuality is not allowed (1 Kings 14:24 KJV).
7. Homosexuality was not allowed by King Asa (1 Kings 15:12 KJV).
8. King Jehoshaphat would not permit homosexuality (1 Kings 22:46 KJV).
9. The king did not permit homosexuality (2 Kings 23:7 KJV).
10. Homosexuality is referred to as vile affections, degrading passion, unnatural,
abnormal, consumed with lust, shameful acts, as worthy of death (Romans 1:26-32 AMP).
11. Those who practice homosexuality will not inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:911 NLT).
12. Homosexuality is contrary to sound doctrine (1 Timothy 1:10 ESV).
13. God only sanctions marriage between a man and a woman (Mark 10:6-9 KJV).
14. Sodom was an example of immorality and perversion and for all who will suffer God’s
judgment (Jude 1:7 KJV).
15. All who are abominable will be judged (Revelation 21:8 KJV).
16. The sexually immoral will not inherit the kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21 KJV).
17. God only honors marriage and the sex life of a man and a woman (1 Corinthians 7:2-5 KJV).
18. Sodom was an example of what will happen to the ungodly (2 Peter 2:6 KJV).
19. The return of Jesus will show that the world will be just as it was when Lot left Sodom.
Homosexuality was rampant (Luke 17:28-30 KJV).
Jesus Did Mention Homosexuality (Sodom)
Many say that Jesus did not mention homosexuality. Of course, the modern word homosexuality was
not used in biblical days, just like the word sex was not used in the Bible. However, the biblical word
for homosexuality back then was Sodom or sodomite. Jesus mentions and validates God’s judgment
of Sodom, at least four times.
Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom
and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city (Matthew 10:15).

Chapter 16:
HOW TO PROTECT YOUR CHURCH
FROM SAME-SEX CEREMONIES
Minister Told: Perform Same-Sex Wedding or Go to Jail
In 1989, two ministers of the gospel started a wedding chapel. In September of 2014, they formed an
LLC, calling it Hitching Post Weddings, LLC. As a married couple and ordained by their church, they have
performed weddings as a way of expressing their deeply held biblical beliefs that marriage is between one
man and one woman. Yet, on Friday, the City of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho threatened the couple
(Mr. and Mrs. Knapp) with jail time and fines if they refuse to perform same-sex weddings. City ordinance
9.56 will punish them with 180 days of jail time and a fine of $1,000.00 for every day they refuse to
perform a same-sex wedding. For example, if they refuse to perform a same-sex wedding for 7 days, they
face jail time of 3 and ½ years and a fine of $7,000.00. If they refuse for one year, they face 180 years in
jail and a $365,000.00 fine. For the last several years, I have written that the redefinition of marriage will
impact the church in ways never before known. A few years ago when courts overruled Massachusetts'
marriage laws, very few, if any, people believed that laws would be passed requiring ministers to engage in
activities that violate their religious beliefs. That day is here.
What Should Ministers Do?
Never before has being associated with a church and its doctrines been more beneficial to establishing
the legal concept of "sincerely held beliefs." In United States v. Quaintance, the court held that the
defendant did not sincerely hold religious beliefs they claimed, but instead sought to use the "cover of
religion" in their defense. In the case mentioned at the onset of this blog, the Knapps did one thing well.
They properly documented their sincerely held beliefs in their organizing documents and showed proof of
how they were bound to uphold the doctrines of the church from which they were ordained. Below are
some examples.
1. The Hitching Post is a religious corporation owned solely by ordained ministers of the Christian
religion who operate this entity as an extension of their sincerely held religious beliefs and in
accordance with their vows taken as Christian ministers.
2. They presented evidence that as ministers of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel, they
were bound to uphold the Foursquare Creedal Statement, the Foursquare Declaration of Faith, and the
Corporate Bylaws of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel.
3. They pointed to how the Board of Directors was empowered by the Foursquare Corporate Bylaws to
revoke their ordination if they condoned or engaged in the performance of a same-sex wedding.
By presenting such evidence, they clearly showed how the city's ordinance placed a burden on sincerely
held religious beliefs. They also clearly disclosed that the burden of proof is on the city for the following
two areas: to prove that there is an overriding government interest requiring a minister to perform samesex weddings to end discrimination, and to prove that the requirement placed on ministers is the least
restrictive way to accomplish that interest. This is a case that the city will lose.
What About Christians in Businesses?
Many states have now passed laws that place a burden on the religious beliefs of photographers,
bakeries, artists, and others in service-oriented businesses. A baker in Oregon was forced to shut down his
business because he refused to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex wedding. In Colorado, New Mexico,
and others states, business owners in similar circumstances have been punished. In New York a Christian
couple was fined $15,000.00 for refusing to allow a same-sex pair to use their farm for a wedding. Is there
anything that Christians can do to better protect their 1st Amendment right guaranteeing free exercise of
religion? YES! Below are some practical steps.

1. Incorporate their business: When one incorporates a business, he/she has the right to pursue any
lawful purpose. That purpose includes the running of his/her business in conformity with his/her
religious beliefs.
2. Create bylaws for the business: Document the way the business will run itself and also document
the owner's religious beliefs based on the Holy Scriptures. This can also be done by writing that the
business must govern itself in accordance with the doctrines of XYZ church.
3. Associate with a church: Being the member of a church is good in that it provides a way to be in
communion with like-minded believers to challenge and encourage you to pursue God. However, it can
also be a way to asset your 1st Amendment rights. Many churches have standard of living requirements
to maintain membership. When a member chooses to live a life that is contrary to the church's
doctrine, he/she is subject to being terminated. On one hand, if one chooses to stay faithful to one's
religious beliefs, he/she is penalized by the state. On the other hand, if one does what the state orders,
one violates his/her faith and also loses his/her church membership.
Actions Pastors Should Take
1. Make sure you have bylaws that address the marriage issue. The following is a statement from my
church World Overcomers bylaws.
WOOMC Wedding Ceremonies Conducted for Members in Good Standing
World Overcomers is a Christian ministry, established and governed by the principles and
truths of the Bible (or Word of God). The freedom of religion is afforded to us by the
Constitution of the United States of America. We, therefore, exercise these inalienable rights
and privileges in the construction of our church’s policies and procedures.
We believe that the Word of God totally denounces any and all forms of marriage outside of
one man and one woman (Genesis 1:27-28; Genesis 2:22-24; Genesis 6:19-20; Genesis 7:23,16; Leviticus 18:22; Leviticus 20:13; Jeremiah 29:6; Malachi 2:15; Matthew 19:4-6;
Romans 1:24-26; 1 Corinthians 7:2; 1 Corinthians 11:3; 1 Timothy 3:2; Ephesians 5:23-33;
Colossians 3:18-19; Titus 2:4).
World Overcomers Outreach Ministries Church, its Pastor, elders, licensed ministers or any
member, will not at any time conduct or participate in the marriage or wedding ceremony of
any couple whose marital relationship is contrary to the scriptures we uphold as truth and/or
our interpretation of said scriptures.
Therefore, according to the above stated scripture references, World Overcomers Outreach
Ministries Church is against same-sex marriages, group marriages, incestuous marriages,
polygamy, bigamy, pedophilia, or marriages with children.

Also, World Overcomers Outreach Ministries Church and its leadership reserve the right to
decline or refuse to perform wedding ceremonies for any couple that does not meet biblical
qualifications (including male and female remarriages whose divorces from previous spouses
were not based upon biblical grounds: i.e., Adultery [Matthew 19:1-9], Homosexuality
[Romans 1:24-28], Violence/Abuse [Malachi 2:14-16; Luke 3:14], Abandonment
[1 Corinthians 7:15]).
Any possible marriages that have the potential for abuse of any kind or other serious
irreconcilable differences; any premarital couples who refuse to participate and/or complete
all premarital counseling sessions; or any potential spouse that possess any ungodly
character issues that could affect the success of the marriage, World Overcomers Outreach
Ministries Church leadership reserves the right to decline or refuse to join them in matrimony.
2. Make sure your bylaws are a public document through your state charter or your IRS 501c3.
If someone tries to sue you for not marrying them, then the first thing the courts will do is to procure
the documents that are publicly documented, not what you have on file at the church. Therefore, any
changes or amendments made to the charter, bylaws, and doctrinal statements must be added to these
public files.
3. Establish a written doctrinal statement for your church. The written doctrinal statement is broader and
separate from your church’s basic tenets of faith. The written doctrinal statement explains your beliefs
on major doctrinal issues.
Within that statement should be your biblical beliefs pertaining to homosexuality and same-sex
marriage. You can now make amendments that refer back to your written doctrinal statement.

statement. Of course, all ministries believe differently, so I suggest you adjust some issues to your
church’s beliefs.
4. Other possible amendments to add to your bylaws include:
Mutual Interest: The behavior of anyone in fellowship with this church is of common interest to the
Board of Directors and membership (Galatians 6:1). This church requires every Board of Directors
member and Congregational member to adhere to a lifestyle that is consistent with the doctrines of
this church as taught in the Holy Scriptures. Therefore, this church reserves the right to refuse service
to any individual, whether member or not, who is not submitting their lifestyle to this scriptural mode
of conduct. This refusal would include services, benefits, and any use of church assets.
Prohibited Activities: This church is prohibited from engaging in activities that violate its written
doctrines. This church is also prohibited from condoning, promoting, or allowing any of its assets to be
used for activities that violate its written doctrines.
The Hobby Lobby ruling protects the rights and faith of Christian businesses to make a profit in
conformity with the owners’ religious beliefs.
5. If your church has an outside business or a separate nonprofit entity, you need to protect them also.
The above article pertaining to the couple in Idaho who owned a wedding chapel explains what
churches are legally able to do to protect themselves.

GATEKEEPERS
In the Old Testament, a gatekeeper was a Levite who served as a watchman on the wall that
surrounded the nation of Israel. Gatekeepers were trusted officials and high priests in the service of
protecting the Lord’s house. They were stationed at all four gates – north, south, east, and west.
They taught others around them to guard the gate as well. Their hearts were fully committed to the Lord’s
will.
You Are the Watchman
33 1-5 GOD’s Message came to me: “Son of man, speak to your people. Tell them,
‘If I bring war on this land and the people take one of their citizens and make him
their watchman, and if the watchman sees war coming and blows the trumpet,
warning the people, then if anyone hears the sound of the trumpet and ignores it
and war comes and takes him off, it’s his own fault. He heard the alarm, he
ignored it—it’s his own fault. If he had listened, he would have saved his life.
6 “‘But if the watchman sees war coming and doesn’t blow the trumpet, warning
the people, and war comes and takes anyone off, I’ll hold the watchman
responsible for the bloodshed of any unwarned sinner.’ 7-9 “You, son of man, are
the watchman. I’ve made you a watchman for Israel. The minute you hear a
message from me, warn them. If I say to the wicked, ‘Wicked man, wicked
woman, you’re on the fast track to death!’ and you don’t speak up and warn the
wicked to change their ways, the wicked will die unwarned in their sins and I’ll
hold you responsible for their bloodshed. But if you warn the wicked to change
their ways and they don’t do it, they’ll die in their sins well-warned and at least
you will have saved your own life (Ezekiel 33:1-9, The Message Bible).
Old Testament Gatekeepers’ Primary Roles
Also the GATEKEEPERS…and their brethren who kept watch at the gates… (Nehemiah 11:19).
1. They Protect the Lord’s House – The gatekeepers protected the house of God by defending the
Gospel and the truth of the Word. They worked to stop ungodly outside forces from coming in and
protected the holiness of God’s house.
2. They Speak Out and Warn the People of God – They are bold to speak out against the sins of the
church and the world to receive God’s righteousness, even if it means they will be mocked, ridiculed, or
hated. They love the house of God, His church, and the Body of Christ.
3. They Keep the People of God on the Right Path from Drifting from the Lord – They oversee
the people, gently guide the drifters back to God, and keep those on the threshold of evil paths from
taking another step in the wrong direction.
4. They Appoint and Train Others to Guard the Gates – They prepare others to do what they do.
They appoint and delegate others to guard the gates.
5. They Keep Watch for the Lord’s Return – They blow the trumpet and alert the people to the
times and seasons and prepare them for the Lord’s return.
Gatekeepers Today
Gatekeepers in this generation are called to protect the attempts of society and the world to silence the
church’s voice and its freedom of religion in America. They are called to speak out against the sins that
prevail in the nation such as homosexuality, same-sex marriage, abortion, euthanasia, idolatry, and the
advance of false religions. They preach against these ills to keep their people on track. They speak the
truth in love. They offer strategies to build a protective wall around the Body of Christ.

The Plan
Objective: Build a wall of protection around the religious freedoms of the church, pastors, and the
Christian community through activism, protest, passive resistance, and economic withdrawal. Recruit as
many believers as possible through our churches and Christian organizations who are willing to petition
and become active in protesting businesses, government officials, schools, and media outlets that
demonstrate hostility and discrimination against Christians.
Prayer
1. Establish a national prayer wall of intercessors and prayer warriors to protect our nation and our
Gatekeeper efforts. They will pray prayers such as: Prayer for America, Prayer for All in Authority,
Prayer for Revival in Our Land, Prayer for Racial Harmony, Prayer for Protection of the United
States, Prayer for Israel, Prayer Against Terrorism, Prayer for Protection of Our Military, Prayer
Against Perversion in the Land, and Prayer Against Natural Disasters, to name a few.
State-by-State Gatekeepers
2. Establish a state-by-state network of pastors, churches, and Christian leaders who will stand for
righteousness by sounding the alarm and awakening the Body of Christ to protect the religious
freedoms of all Americans. Their role will be as follows:
A. Select one lead state pastor to oversee each state’s gatekeepers’ activities.
B. The lead state pastor will then recruit and select a lead city pastor for the top five largest cities in
his state (see the state-by-state guide herein). This person does not have to be the pastor of the
largest church in a city, but someone who has the heart to preserve religious freedoms. If a pastor
cannot be found for the task, then a passionate Christian leader in the state can do the work.
C. Lead state pastors will inform lead city pastors of any current events or issues (locally or nationally)
that threaten our Judeo-Christian values and require action from the local churches.
D. Lead state pastors should secure e-mail addresses of their city lead pastors to communicate action
alerts of various issues to which the Body of Christ needs to respond and address.
E. Lead state pastors are to encourage their five lead-city pastors to work to build a coalition of as
many pastors across racial and denominational lines as possible who will serve as city gatekeepers
and participate in Christian activism.
F. Each lead city pastor must recruit as many churches and pastors as possible in their city and place
their names in an e-mail databank of pastors for immediate contact and response.
G. Lead city pastors should build a committee of pastors who will help contact and garner the names
and e-mails of pastors in their city. We suggest that each lead city pastor get a list from the Yellow
Pages of all the various church denominations in their city. Seek to find the local heads of those
den0minations, fellowships, associations, or ministerial alliances of pastors. Speak to them about
gathering the pastors of their denomination and secure e-mail addresses of each pastor.
H. Lead city pastors must now encourage their church members to sign in their e-mail addresses for
their church. Pastors do not have to give their members’ names and e-mail addresses to state or
city lead pastors or anyone else. They should establish their own databank of e-mails and be ready
to communicate information with their own people for response, and restrict e-mails for their
church’s use only.

I. Lead state pastors will help provide lead city pastors with information about what churches need to
do to protect themselves in a post same-sex marriage culture; offering information about what is
happening in America that threatens religious freedom, along with what and how we should
respond. For instance, an e-mail protest to the media or a business, or proposed amendments to
bylaws.
J. Government Elected Officials Committee - Lead city pastors should establish a committee
of pastors who are willing to gather at City Hall for various votes or hearings that will threaten the
church or the Christian community as a while. This group should be responsible for holding press
conferences as needed, contacting and lobbying elected city officials, and preparing church
members to call or e-mail elected officials when we disapprove of a matter. Pastors should
encourage their congregations to bombard elected officials with calls, letters, and e-mails on
pertinent issues when necessary. Find records of elected officials’ campaign finances and petition
their donors to not support candidates who vote against the church. Christian candidates from our
various churches should run for these offices. Activist-elected judges who rule contrary to the laws
of God and the church should be voted out of office.
K. Business Committee – A committee of pastors should be organized to handle issues involving
corporations or businesses. Many Christians are being forced to take diversity training classes that
teach same-sex lifestyles. Pastors can bring change by putting pressure on a business with their
numbers. As members of our churches go through these challenges, we as pastors must be
prepared to stand with them. When business corporations oppose state or city governments that
attempt to provide religious freedom protections for Christians, pastors need to inform these
corporations that we cannot support their products through e-mail petition drives. Also, Christian
business owners are being persecuted for their faith because they will not conform to same-sex
marriage. Press conferences should be organized to make statements to the community.
L. Education Committee – Lead city pastors should organize parents or mom’s prayer groups
from the local churches. They will protest education school board decisions relative to curriculum
changes and issues that can negatively impact our children. A parent committee should be selected
to attend school board meetings and keep up with upcoming school board decisions and rallying
parents to stand when needed. Sexual orientation curriculums are coming to schools, and in some
places, they are already there.
School boards around the nation are beginning to deny parents the right to opt their children out of
gay-oriented curriculums. Recently, parents in Fairfax, Virginia were denied access to the board to
protest. About 200-300 parents were locked out of the board proceedings. Church leaders should
formulate parental educational committees that will lead all opposing parents in finding legal
counsel and consider protesting by keeping children out of school until demands are met. The state
pays for each child’s education and loses money every day children are absent. If a significant
number of students stay out of school, this places pressure on state officials to force school boards
to hear parents and make changes. Those absences can cost their districts millions of dollars in
state funding. Every school district should research the district or state laws for any possible

M. TV and Print Media Committee – Establish a committee of pastors who will deal with the
media. Pastors of individual churches should set up databanks of membership e-mail addresses.
When petition drives need to be made in response to news events or ads, Operation Church WakeUp Call will send out alerts to denominational heads.
Prepared petitions will be e-mailed to all state leaders or established on the website. These state
lead pastors and/or their assistants will then alert their city pastor/leaders through e-mail, who
will, in turn, distribute them to the members of each church. Members are encouraged to send
them in immediately and to continue to refrain from using products and services until alerted
otherwise by the lead state pastor.

To make petitions official, all petitioners must give their names and addresses when addressing
business vendors.
City pastors across racial and denominational lines should gather and approach local TV stations to
speak with general managers and news directors about their news reporting. We should request the
following:
1. Positive stories on the church and its work in the community
2. Newspaper editorials from a Christian perspective should be included in news publications.
3. Share stories of the unfair treatment and persecution of Christians locally and around the
nation
4. Fair, balanced TV news reporting that does not attack the church, pastors or Christians who
stand for what they believe. Permission to share our views if we desire without being attacked in
the media. Our intent is not to attack gays but to be permitted to state our beliefs without
reprimand from the media.
N. Lead city pastors in the five major cities should also attempt to reach pastors close to them in
surrounding cities, towns, and counties. Use the same format in selecting leadership in these
surrounding areas.
3. The national Operation Church Wake-Up Call website will offer information, alerts, updates, stories,
special bulletins, blogs, and petition protest campaigns that the church needs to respond to regarding
issues that violate our religious freedoms. We will design verbiage for each petition.
4. Operation Church Wake-Up Call is not a church fellowship, ministry alliance, association or
denomination. We do not seek to establish any organization, church or church worship services of any
kind. We do not seek to proselytize church members, nor do we desire to promote or advance the
doctrine of any denomination. Our purpose is only to be a vehicle to unite the Christian community
across racial and denominational lines in Christian activism to protect our rights and religious
freedoms.

325,127,000 people in the nation, 227,588,900 people are Christians. Many of us purchase your
products and services. We are very concerned about the unfair, unbalanced journalistic practices of

Christians are suffering discrimination, persecution, hostile treatment, and lack of respect in the
world. The mainstream media is not telling our story. When Christians or others who oppose the
political correctness of the day are giving interviews, many are maligned, purposely embarrassed, and
denigrated on national or local TV.
As believers of Jesus Christ, we are tired of supporting stations that have an agenda that involves
silencing Christians or violating our religious freedoms. We cannot continue patronizing businesses
that totally disrespect Christ and Christianity in general and promote an ungodly agenda.

to make changes in their journalistic practices. If not, then we will have to consider pursuing other
competitors who provide these products/services.
