Jack’s Point is sited on the elbow of Lake Wakatipu and at the foot of the Remarkables mountain
range. It traverses through wetland to the lake edge encountering steep bluffs, indigenous
vegetation and wildlife. It is designed to work with nature, not against it.
Fairways are designed with minimal excavation and careful plantings to complement the natural
environment, but also to give the golfer a fighting chance.
Golf Course - The 18 hole 72-par golf course was designed by John Darby of Darby Partners. John
Darby also designed The Hills, Millbrook and Clearwater golf courses. The 7150 yard (6538 metre)
course at Jacks Point will be open to players from the summer of 2008/09.

Kinloch Club
Taupo
The first Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course to be built in New Zealand, his design enhances the
natural environment allowing the surroundings of the location to shape each hole. Natural features
enhance shot values so golfers can work on every aspect of their game.
Golf Course - This 72 par golf course will challenge you, from a design perspective, the nines
differ in appearance, but complement one other. The front nine offers dramatic terrain features
such as a steep bluff running through the 6th, 7th and 9th holes. Then the series of holes from the
3rd through the 9th have been described as “mystical and surreal.” The back nine, intimate to the
water’s edge, works its way around a 70-acre lake and water can be viewed from every hole. The
intention of the design was to not have any two holes resemble one another, and they all have
different personalities and traits.
