MESSAGE FROM THE GROUP CEO
A POSITIVE UPTURN AND A BRIGHT FUTURE AHEAD
EXTENSION OF OPERATIONS
On October 4 our real estate company acquired a
Malmö property where Opel cars had previously been
sold in a ’Black Box’ showroom. We took possession
on October 17 and it was opened on January 28,
2014. Opel is now a new Group brand. The acquisition
means that Hedin Bil is now established in Sweden’s
third largest city.
Another milestone in our history was reached during
October with the acquisition of Svenska Bil in Norden AB, of which we took possession on January 1,
2014. Svenska Bil has two full service facilities and
two tyre and workshop facilities in the Stockholm area.
Svenska Bil’s sales for 2013 totalled SEK 850 million.
Welcome to the 2013 edition of Hedin Bil’s Annual
Report.
To prepare ourselves for the anticipated market downturn in the first part of 2013, we introduced successful
austerity measures and further streamlined the organisation, thus enabling us to turn with the tide on a
much stronger footing.
MERCEDES-BENZ TRUCKS
TOTAL MARKET
The first half year saw a sharp fall in car registrations
as forecast. The first quarter showed low registration
figures due to advanced green car registrations at the
end of 2012. This stabilised during the second quarter. The third quarter showed an upward turn and the
year concluded with 22,919 sold cars for the Hedin Bil
Group. Car registrations are a sure economic indicator
and the increased registrations during recent months
is a sign that the Swedish economy is steadily recovering through greater household purchasing power, low
interest rates and increased optimism in households
and companies.
During 2013 we began extension work at our Helsingborg and Ängelholm facilities. In Helsingborg a new
5,500 square metre van and truck facility is being
built. The existing facility will remain and offer a full
vehicle service. In Ängelholm a new 11,000 square
metre facility is being built in an attractive location
along the E6/E20. It will have 5,900 square metres
for our own use with the remainder being let to other
tenants.
OUR BRANCHES AND BRANDS
In March we began major rebuilding work of the Mercedes-Benz showroom at our Hisings-Kärra facility in
north Gothenburg. It was opened in October and the
showroom now boasts 900 square metres. In September, Abarth was launched as a Group brand at our
Åbro/Mölndal facility. We are the only dealer of this exclusive brand in Sweden. The first showing in Sweden
was fifty years to the day from when the Abarth 595
was first unveiled.
The Parent Company is also a partner in Car to Go
Sweden AB, carplus.se, an online private leasing business. It is vital that Hedin Bil is seen on as many
marketing channels as possible for the future.
In 2013 we also began a rebuilding programme at our
Värnamo facility. Through smart planning and restructuring the showroom will get an extra 320 square metres,
giving it a total of 800 square metres.

STRATEGY
Our overall strategy is profitable growth. Profits will
steadily increase through improved service levels and
greater productivity in our car sales, vehicle service,
workshop and spare parts service. Hedin Bil is particularly focused on targeted activities, which further
contribute to boosting the Group’s earning capacity.
Targeted activities include increased focus on customer satisfaction, cost-cutting measures through our
Cash Management work, and increased efficiency in
our workshops.
Quality and Environmental Policies
We always look to improve our quality and environmental goals by listening to the demands and expectations of public authorities, customers and employees. We strive to provide our employees with the skills
enhancement they require to stay at the forefront of
developments within their respective areas and to improve our operations through employee commitment
and awareness of the vital role they play in meeting
customer needs.
We will take the necessary steps to reduce our carbon
footprint and to prevent pollution. Hazardous waste
will be taken care of and recycled or reused in an environmentally sustainable manner. In the first instance
we will choose suppliers with environmentally approved products and who strive to reduce their carbon

footprint whenever it is financially viable. All our facilities are certified in compliance with environmental
and quality standards ISO 9001 and 14001.

integral part of Hedin Bil’s quest for unrivalled quality.
COMPANY HISTORY AND MILESTONES
IT ALL BEGAN IN 1985 WHEN FATHER AND SON, INGEMAR AND
ANDERS HEDIN, ACQUIRED PHILIPSONS BRANCH IN BORÅS
1980s
2007 Thituson Bil AB’s operations in Linköping, Jönköping,
Anderstorp, Ljungby and Värnamo were taken over.
Land Rover was therewith added to our list of brands.
2008 Hedin Göteborg Bil AB acquired the assets and liabilities
of bankrupt Uno Asplunds Bil AB in Borås.
2009 A dealership contract was signed with Renault.
2009 We completely refurbished our newly acquired neighbouring property on Mölndalsvägen and in 2010 opened
our new carrier van showroom.
This is where it began
1985 Ingemar and Anders Hedin set up their first facility in Borås.
1990s

1990 We acquired Philipson Halmstad and in 1992 we
opened a newly built facility.
1995 Philipson Helsingborg and Ängelholm were acquired
along with Philipson Trucks in Halmstad.
1998 We acquired real estate and construction company
K.I. Andersson Bygg AB in Borås.
1999 Philipson Gothenburg, Alingsås and Kungsbacka were
acquired. Work began on the extensive refurbishment of
the head office on Mölndalsvägen in Gothenburg.
2010s
A further 12 brands were added
2010 Scanauto i Göteborg AB and Andersson Auto i Varberg
AB were acquired.
2010 Bra Bil AB’s Renault sales and workshop operation in
Tagene (Gothenburg) was acquired.
2010 We took over the Mercedes-Benz heavy goods vehicle
operation in Hisings-Kärra.
2011 The refurbished facilities in Tagene, Vara, Anderstorp
and Ljungby reopened.
2011 The newly built facilities in Borås, Kungsbacka and
Varberg opened.
2012 Our new facility in Uppsala opened.
2012 The Group was restructured and the merger of Hedin
Uppsala Bil AB and Hedin Helsingborg Bil AB took
place.
2012 Our new head office in Mölndal opened (opposite the
old one).
2012 Our AMG Performance Centre and the Mercedes-Benz
Fleet Car Centre in Sisjön opened.
2013 Abarth was added as a new Group brand at the same
time as the dealership contract with Suzuki ended due to
low volumes.
2013 Our Mercedes-Benz facility for cars, vans and trucks was
rebuilt and reopened in October.
2013 A further three properties were acquired that are
currently let to other tenants.
2013 Svenska Bil’s Stockholm operation was acquired in
October with the official takeover in January 2014.
2013 The Opel Malmö property was acquired along with the
bankruptcy estate. Opel Black Box opened in January
2014 and Opel was added as a new Group brand.
2000s
12 new brands were added and 14 companies and properties
were acquired
2001 Aktiv Bil AB in Hisings Backa was acquired. A Nissan
dealer at the time. Our new Mercedes-Benz facility was
reopened in autumn 2001.
2002 Our refurbished facility in Alingsås reopened.
2002 We became the west Sweden dealer for the new Smart
city car.
2003 We acquired the Daimler-Chrysler dealership in
Gothenburg comprising of the Mercedes-Benz sales
and workshop in Hisings-Kärra, and Chrysler and Jeep’s
sales and workshop in Åbro/Mölndal.
2004 We acquired Bilstudion Göteborg AB Chevrolet
dealership in Gothenburg. We also signed a dealership
contract with Cadillac Sverige AB (Cadillac, Chevrolet,
Corvette).
2004 Stjärnhuset Bil AB in Kristianstad was acquired.
We therewith became a Mitsubishi dealer.
2005 The Gothenburg Used Car Centre opened in
Åbro/Mölndal, next to the US Center.
2005 Bilforum in Uddevalla AB was acquired. This gave us
four new branches: Uddevalla, Trollhättan, Strömstad
and Vara.
2005 I.A. Hedin Fastighet AB disposed of its shareholding in
real estate company KIA Fastighet AB.
2005 Klintberg & Way AB’s Gothenburg operation in
Åbro/Mölndal was acquired.
2006 Bilexa i Göteborg AB was acquired, a local Mitsubishi
and Citroën dealer.
2006 Philipson Uppsala Bil AB’s operations in Uppsala
and Enköping were acquired.
2007 A dealership contract was signed with KIA Motors
Sweden AB.

During the year all Hedin Bil Group facilities have undergone
extensive refurbishment and are now fully compliant with the
Hedin standard. For the year in question we have 33 facilities
and 23 brands. All the years have shown a positive net income.

STRUCTURAL CHANGES, I.A. HEDIN BIL GROUP
In order to streamline our organisation, some structural
changes were implemented starting in March 1, 2014.
ACQUISITION OF SVENSKA BIL I NORDEN AB IN
STOCKHOLM
In October 2013, I.A. Hedin Bil AB acquired Svenska
Bil AB’s sales and workshop facilities in Akalla, Segeltorp and central Stockholm. Official entry into the Group
was on January 1, 2014. The acquisition has enabled
Hedin Bil to strengthen its position on the Stockholm
market.
Background
The Group operates through three subsidiaries: Hedin
Göteborg Bil AB, Hedin Helsingborg Bil AB and Hedin
Stockholm Bil AB, and their various branches. Anders
Hedin is CEO for all the companies.
• Akalla offers full service for Nissan, Mitsubishi
and Kia. Also has a workshop for Opel, Chevrolet,
Citroën and Saab.
• Segeltorp offers full service for Mitsubishi, Kia and
Opel. The Fiat Group will be added in March 2014.
• Central Stockholm (Östermalm) has a service
workshop for Nissan, Kia, Opel, Chevrolet and Saab.
• Sollentuna is a full service tyre facility.
The subsidiaries were previously managed by managing
directors who took responsibility for their own regions.
This structure was not fully compliant with the size of
the Group and sometimes led to differences and communication problems. An executive decision was made
to the effect that the Group’s size and development
needed to be secured through a more transparent and
efficient organisation. See pages 16–17 regarding the
restructuring of the Hedin Bil Group.
The acquisition triggered the start-up of a new company in the Hedin Bil Group, Hedin Stockholm Bil AB.
The Group also had the honour of adding Opel to its
portfolio.
The purpose of the structural changes

• To operate as one company, Hedin Bil
Svenska Bil was part of the Finnish-owned Metro Auto
Group, with sales totalling around SEK 900 million, a
workforce of 180 and roughly 4,700 new and used cars
sold every year.
ACQUISITION OF OPEL BLACK BOX IN MALMÖ
In October 2013 Hedin Bil acquired a property in
Malmö that had previously been a sales and service
facility for the Opel brand. Operations resumed under
Hedin Bil’s management in late January 2014.
HEDIN AKALLA FASTIGHET AB
The commercial building in Akalla, north of Stockholm
was acquired and possessed on April 1, 2014.
KLINTBERG & WAY AB (KW PARTS)
Klintberg & Way AB was acquired in April 2014. The
company is a European spare parts dealer for US
manufactured cars GM, Chrysler and Ford.
Hedin Bil being represented in the three largest cities
in Sweden feels very much like the next step in the
Group’s development.
MABI RENT AB
More than 90 per cent of the shareholders have
accepted an official takeover bid. Mabi Rent AB is a
subsidiary car hire and sales company with two
complete showrooms in Stockholm.

The Hedin Bil Group is wholly owned by the
Hedin family; 91 per cent by Anders Hedin Invest
AB, and 9 per cent by Ingemar Hedin. Parent
Company, I.A. Hedin Bil AB, has three subsidiaries: Hedin Göteborg Bil AB, Hedin Helsingborg
Bil AB and Hedin Stockholm Bil AB. Today we are
represented in 33 modern and attractive facilities
in easily accessible locations, from Kristianstad in
the south to Uppsala and Stockholm in the east.
The Group’s head office is in Mölndal, Gothenburg.
Hedin Bil Card
Through our private or corporate MasterCard we
are able to offer affordable and flexible payment
solutions. You can divide payment into six monthly
interest-free instalments and you collect bonus
points for all your purchases. Five points for each
krona you spend at Hedin Bil and one point at other outlets. You also get discount offers on fuel and
car hire. The Hedin Bil card is in collaboration with
Resurs Bank.
Sales
Hedin Bil sells new and used vehicles, accessories
and spare parts, and offers workshop services, insurances and financing. Hedin Bil has 23 brands
in its portfolio and through its broad product range
is one of the largest automobile dealers in Sweden.
Hedin Bil Insurance
Together with IF Skadeförsäkring AB we have
drawn up a special insurance policy exclusively for
Hedin Bil’s customers. It covers all our brands, new
and used.
Service and Workshop
Hedin Bil always strives to provide an impeccable
service in its authorised workshops. Our receptionists and mechanics are specialists with access
to state-of-the-art equipment and technology, and
cutting edge expertise.
Spare Parts and Shop
Our shop sells approved original parts only and
our staff are well-trained in most vehicle models
and will always offer the best advice with regard to
spare parts and accessories.
Hedin Bil Finance
Through Hedin Bil Finance, Hedin Bil is able to
offer private customers and companies a car loan
or leasing arrangement on reasonable terms. Car
leasing is the most favourable form of financing
company vehicles and carries a wide range of benefits. Our financial partners include DNB Finans.

Hedin Bil Used Vehicle Warranty
We offer a twelve-month warranty on mechanical
damage for vehicles up to six years of age. The warranty is valid for twelve months and/or 15,000 kilometres, or until it has driven a maximum 130,000
kilometres. Hedin Bil Used Vehicle Warranty is in
collaboration with IF Skadeförsäkring AB.
Hedin Bil New Vehicle Warranty
Hedin Bil offers its customers the chance to subscribe to supplementary services. These include a
two-year extension to the new vehicle warranty on
your Mercedes-Benz. Also, when buying a new or
used Nissan, you can purchase a Nissan Security
Package and extend the new vehicle warranty by
three years.
Hedin Bil Service Agreement
We offer a variety of customised service agreements based on vehicle usage and purpose. For
example, an agreement that costs SEK 0.10 per kilometre for Mercedes-Benz carrier vans, but max.
20,000 kilometres a year. We are also able to offer
a three-year service agreement or three separate
services, whichever occurs first.

I.A. HEDIN FASTIGHET AB
Hedin Bil’s commercial properties are wholly owned by Anders Hedin Invest AB. The company owns and
manages 28 commercial properties in eastern, western and southern Sweden.
Commercial floor space in the Group’s total real estate portfolio (that is to say commercial premises and
other commercial properties) totals around 151,000 square metres. In addition to the owned properties,
there are rented premises comprising a total area of around 10,000 square metres. The total plot area
comprises of roughly 458,000 square metres and the estimated market value hovers around the SEK 2.3
billion mark.
A.H. VÄRDEPAPPER AB
Wholly owned by Anders Hedin Invest AB. Owns, manages and trades in securities and associated
activities.
THENBERG & KINDE FONDKOMMISSION AB
Anders Hedin Invest AB owns 25 per cent of the capital and 29 per cent of the votes. Thenberg & Kinde
Fondkommission AB is one of Sweden’s oldest stockbrokers. The company celebrated its centenary in
2013. Thenberg & Kinde offers financial services to Swedish small and medium-sized companies and their
owners, as well as to private individuals and organisations, services that create increased returns and/or
value growth.
RIPAM INVEST AB
Ripam Invest AB is half owned by Anders Hedin Invest AB and is an investment company that invests in
companies beyond their business portfolios. The remaining 50 per cent is owned by Nilhome AB.
Marstrands Kurbadhus AB and Marstrands Kulturbadhus AB
Ripam Invest AB wholly owns Marstrands Kurbadhus AB and Marstrands Kurbadhus AB owns 90 per cent
of Marstrands Kulturbadhus AB. Both companies are involved in the design and planning of the property
rebuilding project on Marstrand, in the west coast archipelago.
Consensus Asset Management AB
On December 1, 2012, Ripam Invest AB set up Consensus Asset Management AB together with five
partners working at Consensus. Ripam Invest AB owns 45 per cent. Consensus is a Gothenburg-based
company specialising in structured products and asset management.

Anders Hedin Invest AB owns 29 per cent of Car to Go Sweden, carplus.se. CarPlus offers affordable and
flexible private car leasing. No down payment, arrangement charge or deposit required. Insurance, service
and a three-year free breakdown service included. We offer CarPlus for Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Kia, Fiat
and Citroën.

A BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE SWEDISH AUTOMOBILE MARKET 2013
A total of 269,000 new cars and 37,000 new light
goods vehicles were registered in 2013. According
to BIL Sweden, the forecast for 2014 is 275,000 cars
and 40,000 light goods vehicles.
corresponding to 61.7 per cent of the total number of
new registrations. In 2012, 187,301 diesel cars were
registered, or 66.9 per cent of the total number of new
registrations.
The total market for newly registered vehicles (cars,
vans and trucks) fell by 4 per cent during 2013. The
corresponding figure for Hedin Bil is an increase of
2.4 per cent.
A total of 160,687 new cars were registered during
2013 with max. 140 g/km carbon dioxide emissions,
59.6 per cent of the total number of car registrations.
The number of newly registered cars with carbon dioxide emissions of max. 120 g/km totalled 106,452 in
2013, 39.5 per cent of the total number of car registrations.
CARS
In 2013 Hedin Bil sold and delivered a total of 22,919
vehicles, of which 9,550 were used vehicles. Sales
rose by 2.7 per cent compared to the previous year.
According to final figures released by BIL Sweden,
269,599 new cars were registered, a 3.7 per cent fall
on the previous year. Hedin Bil’s market share of total
sales for 2013 was 3.9 per cent, a slight increase on
the previous year’s figure of 3.7 per cent. During the
year a total of 166,427 diesel cars were registered,

QUALITY, INNOVATION AND NEW PROJECTS ARE AT THE HEART OF
EVERYTHING WE DO AT HEDIN BIL
JÖNKÖPING
JÖNKÖPING
The Jönköping operation is moving to this new building on the other side of the motorway to the A6 Centre, a large
and popular shopping area. This full service facility of roughly 22,000 square metres will handle cars, carrier vans
and trucks. Due for completion in 2015.
HELSINGBORG
A new 5,500 square metre carrier van and truck facility is being built in Helsingborg. The building will be in the
same part of town as our existing facility, which will continue as a car showroom. The building is designed as
a Green Building, with all that entails in environmental sustainability and economic mode of operation. Due for
completion in 2014.
HELSINGBORG
ÄNGELHOLM
In the first quarter of 2013 Hedin Bil formed a company together with PEAB to erect a new facility for Hedin Bil
that includes lettable premises. The first stage is a 7,500 square metre building with the remaining 3,500 square
metres being aded in the second stage. Due for completion in 2014.
VÄRNAMO
The Värnamo facility is being extended by 320 square metres, which will provide an 800 square metre larger
showroom through good planning and restructuring of existing premises. Due for completion in 2014.

EVENTS DURING THE YEAR
FIRST QUARTER
ANDERS HEDIN INVEST AB
On March 1, Båtellet was taken over (Marstrands Kurbadhus AB).
Things have improved thanks to improved margins on new cars, used cars and the service market, combined with
the cost savings that have been introduced and which will continue during the year.
I.A. HEDIN BIL AB
New car registrations fell during the first quarter as forecast. New registrations of both cars and trucks fell in March,
also as forecast. The downturn was due in part to there being two fewer registration days compared to March of the
previous year. Two registration days equals roughly 10 per cent fewer registrations. With regard to cars, we are still
feeling the effects of the early registration of 9,000 or so green cars at the end of last year, which has led to fewer
registrations in the first quarter of this year.

SECOND QUARTER

Our new and rebuilt facilities are having a positive impact by contributing to increased sales in all areas (cars, spare
parts and workshop) and increased market shares. New building projects waiting in the wings include new facilities
in Jönköping, Helsingborg and Ängelholm.

Car registrations in the first half year on the total market fell sharply as forecast during the first quarter, partly due
to the early green car registrations at the end of last year, but stabilised during the second quarter. So far this year,
January to June, car registrations have fallen by 9.6 per cent, light goods vehicles by 9.6 per cent and heavy goods
vehicles by 23.1 per cent.
On a somewhat shrinking market, Hedin Bil sales remain steady with profits on the up compared to the same period
in 2012. The Group’s stocks are at a low level and have fallen by 10 per cent in the first half year from an already
low stock value. The stocks reduction has led to the stock turnover speed almost doubling compared with historical
figures.
The acquisition, Sjölands Bilservice AB, is now available to let.

THIRD QUARTER
ANDERS HEDIN INVEST AB
Things have progressed well during the first nine months with good profit margins for the vehicle group, the real
estate group and the securities company.
The commercial property in Jönköping has been sold to Jönköping Municipality and a right of use agreement for a
new building has been signed. The new facility is due for completion in 2015.
Brand representation has changed with Abarth replacing Suzuki.
I.A. HEDIN BIL AB
During September car registrations rose by 11.2 per cent on the total market compared with the same month of
the previous year. This is the third consecutive month on the plus side. This is a pleasing development and we see
a continued positive trend on the automobile market for the rest of the year in light of the increase in household
purchasing power and continued low market interest rates. So far this year, January to September, new registrations
have fallen by 5.2 per cent as forecast.
I.A. HEDIN FASTIGHET AB
The new building projects are progressing to plan with completion of the facility in Hisings-Kärra and the planned
commencement of the projects in Helsingborg, Ängelholm and Värnamo at the turn of year.
The commercial property in Jönköping has been sold to Jönköping Municipality and a right of use agreement for a
new building has been signed. The new facility is due for completion in 2015. The planning process is well underway
and building work is due to commence during the second half of 2014.
Additional commercial properties: Jönköping 22,000 square metres, Helsingborg 5,500 square metres and Ängelholm 5,900 square metres. During the third quarter two lettable Gothenburg properties were added with a total area
of 3,500 square metres.
FOURTH QUARTER
ANDERS HEDIN INVEST AB
Things continued to progress well during the fourth quarter as for the car company, the real estate company and
the security papers company.
I.A. HEDIN BIL AB
The total market for vehicles further recovered during the fourth quarter to finish on a slight decrease in 2013. The
total market for newly registered vehicles (cars, vans and trucks) fell by 4 per cent during 2013. The corresponding
figure for Hedin Bil is an increase of 2.4 per cent. Another milestone in our history was reached in October with the
acquisition of Svenska Bil i Norden AB, of which we took possession on January 1, 2014.
I.A. HEDIN FASTIGHET AB
In October a Malmö property was acquired where Opel cars were previously sold in a ’Black Box’ showroom.
Planning permission was granted during the fourth quarter for our new buildings in Helsingborg, Ängelholm and
Värnamo. Building project meetings also got underway. Estimated commencement of the building work is January
2014.

The Hedin Bil Group is wholly owned by the Hedin family. The company has two main business
areas, vehicles and real estate. Anders Hedin Invest AB, which is wholly owned by Anders
Hedin, has been the Group’s parent company since 2008. The parent company owns subsidiary
I.A. Hedin Bil AB to 91 per cent and the subsidiary wholly owns I.A. Hedin Fastighet AB. All
other shares in I.A. Hedin Bil AB are privately owned to 9 per cent by Ingemar Hedin. Anders
Hedin Invest AB’s business activity mainly comprises of the management and development of
the subsidiaries within the business areas of vehicles and commercial properties.
