JD is more than just a portrait and wedding lab. Our School Pictures Division produces over
a hundred thousand packages each year for independent photographers. Our press-printed
department offers everything from greeting cards to Photobooks. We aspire to meet all your
finishing needs as well, from papers to laminates, stretched canvas to fine art, choose what best
suits your needs.
JD wants to help you grow your business. We regularly host seminars featuring nationally recognized photographers in our state-of-the-art in-house training center. For those of you short on
time, we offer on-line seminars. Our marketing department not only creates new products, they

Getting Started
OPENING AN ACCOUNT
Go to www.JDLab.com and click “Get Started” to sign up for an account, or call our toll free number 888.858.8084 between 8:00 a.m.
and 5:00 p.m. EST. Our staff will take a few minutes to collect your business information, assign you a customer ID, and answer any
questions you may have.
WHICH ORDER ENTRY SOFTWARE IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
For the majority of wedding and portrait photographers we recommend using our free JDLab2You order entry software. It is easy to get
started, and works on both Macs and PCs. JDLab2You lets you order from over 1,000 products in our catalog.
For photographers who want to sell online, we recommend Simple Photo or ImageQuix. This low-cost, easy-to-use software makes it
simple for your clients to order your prints or custom photo products online. It even has an option to send orders directly to JDLab for
printing.
For low-volume event, underclass, preschool or sports photographers, we recommend our free JD Pick-a-Pack software or PlicMatch
from PhotoLynx. Use Pick-a-Pack to quickly assign packages to images. Use the Events module for data-matching school services
like class composites, yearbooks, administrative CDs and photo ID cards. PlicMatch is a “cloud based” alternative to Pick-a-Pack that
makes it easy to match data and images and create packages online.
For Mid to high-volume underclass and sport photographers we recommend PhotoLynx or Timestone. This software automates the
production of the most popular products requested by schools and sports teams. Call for more information.

IMAGE REQUIREMENTS
Our lab uses state of the art digital printers and Kodak Professional paper to create a 100% digital work flow. ALWAYS set your camera
to capture the highest quality image possible, and the resulting files will produce a beautiful print in any size we offer.
We recommend you do NOT re-size, crop or rotate your images before ordering. The order entry software will do this for you, and will
ensure the highest quality image is sent to us for printing.
We will hand-correct image files for color and density before printing. You should not color correct or sharpen images prior to placing
your order.
We recommend level 10 or best quality JPEG images in sRGB color space. This is the default format for most digital cameras, and
makes it easy for you to transfer your images from your camera to your computer and upload to place an order. TIFF images or Adobe
RGB color space is also accepted.
Our goal is to help you create a simple work flow that moves quickly through your studio and our lab. You only need to shoot images
and send them to us. Let us do the rest.

NEW ACCOUNTS
Signing up for JDLab2You or Pick-a-Pack automatically opens a new account. To place your first order, you must have a Visa or
MasterCard. You should combine orders before sending to avoid the $12.00 minimum order fee. Orders over $50 also qualify for
reduced shipping fees. For actual shipping fees, go to www.JDLab.com/faq.html.
OPEN ACCOUNT
Studios who spend more than $25,000 annually may apply for an open account. On open account, a single statement is sent on the
first day of each month, with payment due by the 10th of that month. Any balance not paid by the 10th is subject to a 1.5% per month
charge. Studios on open account are also eligible for volume printing discounts and JD Prime free shipping. To apply for an open
account, call us toll free at 888.858.8084 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. EST.
TAX EXEMPT
By default, we will charge state sales tax on all orders unless we have a tax exempt form on file. Fax forms to 810.239.5529 or email to

SHIPPING
Our minimum shipping charge is $1.95 for orders over $50 shipped via US Priority mail. Orders under $50, orders shipped via UPS,
drop-ship orders and oversized orders will incur additional charges.
DROP SHIP
We will drop ship orders to your customers for an additional fee per order. Drop ship information can easily be entered when placing an
order. The prints will be shipped to the drop ship address in non-branded packaging. All lab paperwork and invoices will be sent to you.
ORDER TRACKING
Go to my.JDLab.com and enter your lab ID and password/email to track your order, or use the link in your order acknowledgement
email to check the status of your order(s) in the lab. You must have your lab ID and password to access order tracking. If you don’t have
them, click the “Lookup my Account” button or call us toll free at 888.858.8084 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. EST.
REMAKES & RETURNS
If you need a remake, contact customer service immediately with the order number and image numbers ready. No returns will be
accepted after 30 days. Remakes and returns are not available from when you choose “print as is” option.
COPYRIGHT POLICY
All proofs are labeled with the © symbol and cannot be copied without your permission. We will not copy photographs that contain a
copyright symbol or appear to be professional photographs.
LIABILITY
Submitting any tangible or electronic media, imaging, data, file, card, disc, device, film, print, slide or negative for any purpose, such
as processing, printing, duplication, alteration, enlargement, storage, transmission, or other handling, constitutes an AGREEMENT that
any loss or damage to it by our company, subsidiary or agents, even though by our negligence or other fault, will only entitle you to
replacement with the equivalent quantity/size of unexposed photographic film, print, slide or electronic media. Consequential damages
are excluded. No expressed or implied warranty is provided.

BRAG BOOKS
Brag Books are spiral bound petite folios with rounded edges that
can be ordered in JD 2 You. These folios are a trendy way for
people to show their images to friends. Each folio can hold up to
50 pages. Brag Books are finished with a clear top sheet, black
backing and a black nylon spiral. Your cover page can be a custom
composite you’ve created in JD 2 You or Photoshop. Each page
is the same price as a proof. There is a $2.00 charge for binding.
Irish Linen or Pebble texture is an extra option.
ON-LINE PROOFING
ImageQuix and LabPrints are JD Photo Imaging partners, with a
complete line of powerful tools for image file management, storyboarding, batch re-sizing and labeling. You may choose the option
in ImageQuix or LabPrints to have the lab automatically fulfill the
orders. Shoot, Drop and Go.

Leather Wrapped Presentation Box. Covers are available in black, brown, baby blue, red, white, Acrylic, Genuine Leather or Custom
Canvas Photo. Imprinting is also available in silver, gold, black and blind emboss. 10 x 10, 12 x 12 and 11 x 14 size albums are available with a cover window. Choice of Irish Linen or Pebble texture pages. Print coating is done on all albums at no additional fee.

At JD we can produce the products your school needs. Our CD-ROM products include PSPA certified yearbook discs, SASI, Powerschool, Mealmagic, Winschool and 150 other formats. Just indicate on your order which program or programs your school uses. If
your school needs software, SIS is a fully functional application for the school allowing them to print their own ID card replacements as
well as certificates, seating charts and awards. The school is also able to import or merge emergency, discipline and security information from other school systems.

Composites, Groups and Teams
Groups are available with or without names and overlays. They can be Individually packaged .15¢, or bulk packged by class or group.
Group overlays can be used on classroom groups as well as teams. • We can print class composites from your Photolynx or TimeStone files. Do the layout yourself or we’ll do it for you. When we do the layout, we will send a paper or email proof to be checked by
the school before printing. Additional proofs are $3.00 each. Custom composite layout from text file data is billed at $75.00 per hour.

Yearboooks
Classbook prices apply to school yearbooks, church directories, etc.
If we have printed your job and have a database and images on file we will lay out the student portion of your book. There is a software
license fee of $250 to use Lumapix or PlicBooks software. We then give you a yearbook kit which you or your school can finish by
adding candids, moving any kids that need moved, adding borders and clipart etc. When your book is complete we will print a proof for
final approval. Turn-around time after approval is 2 weeks. Yearbooks will not be printed without a final okay.
If we DO NOT have your data on file: Prices are based on print-ready pages. Many different covers and themes are available or you
can create your own. We print color yearbooks from digital files from the popular page layout programs including InDesign and PageMaker. Files may be submitted in any of these formats or in PDF form.
Call for turn around times and deadlines.
Prices include Covers however, printing inside the cover is $1.00 per book.

Green Screen
Whether you are doing pre-pay or a proof program we have a greenscreen workflow for you. You can do your own knockout in Flow
or we can do the knockout for you. Allow 3 days for green screen rendering. To qualify for greenscreen, shoot and send us a test in
advance. Once we have your greenscreen technique locked in we can set up a program for you. Choose from our library of backgrounds or send your own. Greenscreen Knockout .50¢ for head & shoulder images, $2.00 for full length images. Images requiring

Software and Internet Ordering
Software
At JD we have a underclass program to help make your jobs uncomplicated. Whether you shoot 1 school or 100 we have a program
to fit what you need. We work with PhotoLynx, Timestone and ROES softwares to compliment our services. Schools are kept on file
throughout the school year and then archived.
Send your Image Match or TimeStone job by loading it to our ftp site along with an ftp order form.
Flow and Plicmatch Orders
Send your Flow or Plicmatch orders by using the Upload to Lab option within the program. Prices include packaging with package
inserts in window envelopes, sorted to your specifications. Reorder forms can be included at no extra charge with black printing.
JD School, Sports & Events:
JD School, Sports & Events may be used for any small jobs that do not require data management. Class composites, yearbooks and
service items can be ordered through JD School, Sports & Events provided you include all of the pertinent information in the data and
have made prior arrangements with customer service.
Lab Managed Quixi or Opticon Jobs:
Upload images and/or data files to our ftp site along with an ftp order form, a flyer from your job and any special instructions.
If you require digital services such as ID cards student directories, school C.D.’s, yearbooks or composites we will need to have a
database. If we are preprinting Quixi cards or camera cards allow a day or two for printing and shipping time. Be sure that files sent
from the school are in the correct format and have complete and accurate information before sending it to the lab.
Color Balance:
Undergrads are analyzed by camera and all packages are printed at the same average color and density. Consistent exposure and
lighting is always required. Custom white balance should be used. We cannot be responsible for color on jobs that are not shot using
correct white balance. Color Correction charges will be assessed to attempt to color correct images shot without proper white balance.
Gray Cards:
Gray cards should be shot at the beginning of every job and included with the job.
Reorders:
At JD you pay the same for reorders as you do the first day. We will stuff your reorder forms at no charge. We can drop-ship directly to
your customer for only $9.95. Minimum order fees may apply to all orders under $12.00.
Internet Support
For internet prepay, proofing and reorders we are integrated with both ImageQuix and Simple Photo. Reorders or proof orders can be
fully automated with either of these companies. You can upload your images to your website or we will do it for you. When a customer
places an order you collect the money, we print the order, bill you and mail it directly to your customer.
