43RD ANNUAL MACC GOLF CLASSIC AT
ELDORADO ON THURSDAY, JULY 28
Oracle Financial Solutions is presenting the 43rd
annual Mason Area Chamber of Commerce Golf
Classic that will take place on Thursday, July 28 at
Eldorado Golf Course, 3750 W. Howell Road, west
of Mason. The outing will begin with continental breakfast and registration at 8
a.m. followed by a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Please note
that it is an hour earlier than last year. All area
residents and businesspeople are invited to
participate in this year’s 4-person scramble, which
features numerous games and prizes for golfers.
The cost per golfer is a great value at just $75 per
golfer/$300 per foursome with prepaid reservations
before July 10. For this low price, golfers play 18
holes with a cart and receive continental breakfast,
lunch-at-the-turn, a “goodie bag”, contests, prizes,
beverages, and dinner at the after-golf Member
Mixer. The three meals are sponsored by Chamber
members -- and beer and wine tickets are also
provided by our sponsors.
Those who choose not to golf may simply attend the MACC Golf Classic
Member Mixer at 3 p.m. Admission to the mixer is only $20 per person. This
mixer is a great opportunity to network and get to know other Chamber and
community members while enjoying a tasty, but rather early dinner. Call the
Chamber to reserve your spot!
Again this year, net proceeds from the MACC Golf Classic will benefit the
MACC Agnes “Aggie” Corner Scholarship Fund for Community Volunteerism.
Each year this scholarship is awarded to deserving Mason High School
graduates. The 2016 scholarships were awarded to Daniel Kennihan and
Jacqueline Madery for their active participation and volunteerism in our
community.
Major sponsors of this year’s outing to date are Oracle Financial Solutions,
Americhem Sales Corporation, Dart Container Corporation, Mason Auto
Body Repair, Shaheen Chevrolet - Mark Betcher, CP Federal Credit Union,
Dart Bank, Fiedler Insurance, Reith-Riley, A&W Restaurant, LAFCU,
ServiceMaster, Ware’s Pharmacy, Mason Big Boy, Andrews Automotive,
Zielinski Dental, Darrell’s Market and Hardware, and so many Chamber
members at other levels. Chamber member businesses and organizations are
encouraged to sponsor, provide
door prizes, and contribute items
for the “golfer goodie bags.”
“Last year we had 184
golfers,” says Aaron Fiedler,
MACC Golf Committee chair.
“We’d like to repeat that success
this year.” Sponsorships in the form of door prize and goodie bag items, are an
integral part of the MACC Golf Classic. See the insert in this newsletter to sign
up and/or sponsor!

FIND WALDO LOCALLY
RIGHT HERE IN MASON
The famous children’s book character
in the striped shirt and black-rimmed
specs is visiting twenty-six local
businesses (Mason Area Chamber of
Commerce members) throughout our
community July 1st -27th. Find Waldo
Locally is a great summer vacation
activity and a wonderful way to support local businesses and
the Shop Local movement in our community, including these
partners: Bestsellers Books & Coffee Co, Kean’s Store,
Maple Street Mall, Dart Bank, Darrell’s Market, The
Vault Delicatessen, Mason State Bank, and many more!
Anyone who wishes to participate can pick up a “Find
Waldo Locally in Mason!” passport, which contains the names
of all the participating sites, and get their passport stamped or
signed for each Waldo they spot. Collecting store stamps or
signatures at twenty or more businesses will entitle diligent
seekers entry into a grand-prize drawing on July 27th, with the
top prize being a six-volume deluxe set of Waldo books. This
year, participants can also #ColorWaldoAndWin: when they
share a completed coloring sheet of Waldo on Instagram,
they’ll be entered into a drawing to be one of five lucky
winners of a deluxe prize pack.
There is no charge to participate, and the hunt lasts July 1st
through 27th. For more information about hunting for Waldo
in Mason call Bestsellers Books & Coffee at 517-676-6648.

Dear Fellow Chamber Member,
The Mason Area Chamber of Commerce would like to invite you and all your business
colleagues to Mason’s premier networking event. On Thursday July 28, 2016, the Chamber
will host its 43rd annual MACC Golf Classic and Member Mixer, presented by Oracle Financial
Solutions. Last year 184 golfers participated! The net proceeds from the golf outing will again be dedicated
to the MACC Agnes "Aggie" Corner Scholarships. These scholarships are awarded yearly to graduating Mason
High School seniors engaged in community volunteerism.
For only $75 per person, you can enjoy a relaxing day of golf which includes:




18 holes of golf with cart
Tickets for free beer and wine are
courtesy of our beverage sponsors!
Great contests and door prizes
Complimentary breakfast, lunch, and dinner – 3 meals!
Networking opportunities with other businesses and potential customers
Of course, people may attend the dinner mixer just by itself for $20. There is also an opportunity for your
business name to be exposed to all of the golf participants by purchasing a sponsorship. While most of our
more prominent sponsorships are no longer available, there are still many opportunities to get your business
name in front of all the golfers. We still have room for a few more Tee and Green Sponsors. For just $100,
your business name will be placed near a tee or hole on the course of your choice and recognition given in
our publications. But consider another sponsorship option:
Contributions of door prizes and logo-imprinted items are also very, very welcome. Sara Naninni of
ServiceMaster Absolute is organizing “goodie bags” for every golfer. You’ll want to call her at 676-1626 to
reserve space for your advertising specialties and promotional items! Call Missey Trudell of Paper Image at
694-2400 to order those today! Door prizes are a super way to get recognized as sponsor of the MACC Golf
Classic and also announced at the event. We need all contributions by July 12th if possible.
Some members use networking and community events as a way to let their customers, clients and suppliers
interact with their sales and management staff in a relaxed setting. Businesses and organizations can invite
key employees and their families to also join them to build stronger relationships.
Sponsorships are an affordable way of getting your business name in front of a large group of potential
customers. Participating as a golfer is an important way to help with a great cause. The Mason Area
Chamber is asking you to be a part of the MACC Golf Classic and the Aggie Corner Scholarship this year.
Give us a call and let’s get started!
Sincerely,
Aaron Fiedler

MACC Golf Classic Committee Chair
Daniel Kennihan and Jacqueline Madery are the 2016 recipients of the Mason Area
Chamber of Commerce’s Agnes “Aggie” Corner Scholarships for Community
Volunteerism. The 2016 Mason High School graduates have been actively involved in our
community while maintaining high GPAs at MHS. For example, Daniel Kennihan has
volunteered with St. James Church and the ACS’s Relay for Life. He is interested in
pursuing a career in engineering or medicine. Jacqueline Madery has volunteered at
the Ingham County Animal Shelter, CACS’s Mason Food Bank, and the CHUM
Therapeutic Riding Stable. When she goes to college, she plans to study forensics. The
net proceeds of the annual MACC Golf Classic go toward funding the Chamber’s longtime $500 scholarship program, which now assist two students a year. The program
was named the MACC Agnes “Aggie” Corner Scholarships in 2008 to honor the memory of Aggie
Corner, a prominent, long-time community and Chamber volunteer.
