Rosary Altar Society - Chinese Auction
OUTREACH PROGRAM
Recognize the streets without snow on them? Me either.
We have survived the extremely white winter that visited
us this year and are quite willing and ready to trade it
for a very green Spring. It is hard to imagine streets that
are not as white as snow.
Spring has sprung and the time has come to put away
all the winter boots, coats, mittens, scarves, etc., and
take out the bright Springtime clothing. Sorry to put a
damper (pun intended) on this but do keep in mind that
a raincoat is a definite necessity in the month of April.
After all, it is the April showers that bring the May flowers. I could add that Spring also brings torrential rain,
bugs, ants, weeds and a few other fun things but I won’t
mention that because I would hate to change your
mood. I will mention that the Outreach is running low
on certain canned foods – fruit, spaghetti-O’s, green
vegetables, evaporated milk, ravioli and soup; we appreciate it if you choose snap-top cans when you have
a choice. Small boxes of cereal and breakfast bars are
also in need.

BLESSING OF POPE ST. JOHN PAUL II STATUE
We are very appreciative to the Parishioners
who have donated funds to honor
Pope St. John Paul II by having a statue
commissioned to be erected here at
Our Lady of the Assumption Parish.
On Sunday, May 24th, at 3:oopm,
there will be a special Mass in the Auditorum
to be concelebrated by
Most Reverend Bishop William F. Murphy and
Most Reverend Bishop Andrzej Zglejszewski
in all three languages.
The blessing of the Statue will take place
immediately following the Mass.
CHOIR REHEARSAL
“Choir rehearsals for those wishing to sing for
the Holy Thursday
Mass of the Lord’s Supper and
the Easter Vigil Service will be held on
Tuesday,March 17th, 24th in the Church
and March 31st in the Auditorium at 7:30 PM.

JANA PAWŁA II
Na terenie naszej parafii stanie pomnik papieża
św. Jana Pawła II. Składamy serdeczne Bóg
zapłać wszystkim tym, którzy włączyli się w to
dzieło poprzez złożone ofiary.
Uroczystość poświęcenia pomnika z udziałem ks. Biskupa William’a Murphy oraz ks.
Biskupa Andrzeja Zglejszewskiego odbędzie się
w niedzielę 24 maja 2015. Uroczysta Msza św.
w trzech językach zostanie odprawiona tego
dnia o godz. 15:00 w audytorium. Poświęcenie
pomnika nastąpi bezpośrednio po tej Mszy św. .
Serdecznie wszystkich zapraszamy.
PROGRAM POMOCY SOCJALNEJ - OUTREACH
W tym tygodniu prosimy Państwa żywność w puszkach
(jeżeli to możliwe, to z otwieraczem zamocowanym na
wieczku): owoce, makaron (spaghetti-O’s), zielone warzywa, mleko skondensowane, warzywa i zupy. Potrzebuejmy ponadto płatków zbożowych / kukurydzianych
w małych pudełkach oraz batonów śniadaniowych.

ZBIÓRKA PIENIĘDZY NA KWIATY
Podczas tego weekendu przeprowadzamy drugą
kolektę na kwiaty do udekorowania naszego kościoła
oraz audytorium z okazji zbliżających się Świąt
Wielkanocnych. Wszyscy ci, którzy otrzymali koperty
na kolektę pocztą, mogą wrzucić je do koszyka
podczas kolekty.

“WHEN I AM LIFTED UP FROM THE EARTH,
I WILL DRAW EVERYONE TO MYSELF”
In today’s Gospel, Jesus speaks the above
words to Philip and Andrew and “some Greeks” who
asked to see him. In last week’s Gospel, Jesus said to
Nicodemus “. . . so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
so that everyone who believes in him may have
eternal life.” Although they do not understand it,
Jesus is preparing his disciples for his coming
crucifixion and death.
In today’s first reading the Lord promises
(through the prophet, Jeremiah) a new covenant.
And Jesus seals this covenant with his blood during
the events of Holy Week. Listen to the words Jesus
uses when he gives himself to the apostles in the
Eucharist on Holy Thursday: “This is my blood of the
covenant which will be shed for many”. Then
compare to these the words the priest uses each
time he celebrates the Mass. “This is the chalice of
my blood, the blood of the new and eternal
covenant”.
We as a parish, and the entire Catholic world,
will be celebrating the institution of this great
covenant on Holy Thursday, this year on April 2nd.
