26th Annual Seminole Region Charity Golf Tournament
CMAA & Seminole Region
Charity Golf
Chairman’s Message
Following the extraordinary
success of last year’s event, which once
again netted in excess of $550,000 for
local kids, it is a privilege, on behalf of
my wonderful committee, to host the
26th Annual Seminole Region Charity
Golf Tournament at Boca West
Country Club. It is the 22nd year that the Club has hosted
the event, and once again the Members of Boca West
have graciously donated the use of their Club for virtually
two full days. The committee is greatly appreciative to the
members and Board of Governors for their generosity.
Many of the club industry’s leading corporate
partners continue to support our event without
hesitation. But none more so than the following who
have generously supported us year after year with
$35,000 or more in cash and donations: Byron Russell,
CEO of Cheney Bros, Inc.; Don Wilson, CEO of
Sysco Southeast Florida; Tim Merrett, Global Head
of John Deere Golf; and Tom White and Mark Raiger
of Republic National Distributing Company. Our
event could not take place without the continuous
commitment from partners such as these and every year
their contributions inspire others to come on board with
our fundraising efforts!
As ever, the singular objective of this event is to
make a dramatic difference in the lives of thousands of
children in need through our beneficiaries. Every year
it is our goal to exceed the previous year in our effort
to continue being a special part in their lives! To that
end, you will enjoy what is renowned as one of the most
extraordinary events on the social calendar in a county
where first-class is customary!
We look forward to welcoming you and thank you
for your support of this magnificent charity event for the
children.
Warmest wishes,

Through the “Clubs Collecting for Communities”
initiative, CMAA promotes community activity in all 50
Chapters. In the Florida Chapter, which comprises 11
percent of CMAA, all five regions hold annual charity
golf tournaments. The Seminole Region (Vero to the
Keys) is the largest, and the event is its finest testimony.
It began in 1991, when the two CMAA Chapters in
Florida merged to become one, with five regions. The
project for a Charity Golf Tournament in the Seminole
Region was the brainchild of a group, including the
event’s patriarch, Jay DiPietro, CCM, President and
General Manager of Boca West Country Club.
Perennial Chairman DiPietro saw increasing momentum
for the event develop from his vision and infectious
leadership, which led to the strategic decision by a
dynamic Committee to award proceeds only to localcommunity children’s organizations.
Consequently, some of the club industry’s leading
corporate partners, such as Cheney Brothers, Inc. and
Sysco, dramatically elevated their commitment. Their
lead inspired others to step up, including John Deere
Golf, and Republic National Distributing Company.

Some of the Charities Who Have
Benefited Over the Years
Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic
competition for persons eight years of age and older with mental
disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical
fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing
of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympic
athletes and the community. We have contributed approximately
$2.5 million to Special Olympics Palm Beach County.
U.S. Marines
The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program has
distributed over 257,000,000 toys to 127,000,000 needy
children throughout the nation. The Seminole Region
Charity Golf Tournament has donated over $785,000 worth

SOS Children’s Villages – Florida (SOS), makes it possible
for abused, abandoned and severely neglected children to
experience the meaning of home and family. In the village,
children are assured caring parents, brothers and sisters, and
a full and happy childhood. We have donated nearly
$2 million to help support the children who call SOS home.
The George Snow Scholarship fund provides educational
grants to some of the areas brightest and most deserving young
scholars. These four-year commitments are designed to bridge
the gap between financial aid and what the scholars can afford.
We have contributed $225,000 to this great cause.
The Unicorn Children’s Foundation provides leadership,
education and resources to illuminate a new perspective of
individuals with neurodiversity as uniquely talented and
capable who can be productive and fulfilled members of
society. They have received $160,000 from our event.
For more than 40 years, Florence Fuller Child Development
Centers (FFCDC) has provided affordable childcare, quality preschool, enriched afterschool and summer camp to children from
low income families. We have contributed $200,000 to assist.
Place of Hope cares for 265 children and youth in our region on a
daily basis through one of their five campuses or traditional foster
homes. They provide a full continuum of care for children in foster
care, pregnant teens, victims of domestic minor sex trafficking
and those who have “aged-out” of care. Place of Hope at The
Leighan and David Rinker Campus (formerly Place of Hope at
The Haven Campus) currently houses two programs for foster
children and former foster youth with plans to add two additional
family-style cottages, as well as the expansion of their transitional
living program, Villages of Hope, for 18-25 year olds. We have
contributed $150,000 to assist.
A National youth development organization that teaches Nine
Core Values and Nine Healthy Habits using golf as the method
of delivery with many community partners including Boys and
Girls Clubs, YMCAs, Big Brother Big Sisters and PAL. We have
contributed $50,000 to assist.
