“My Edmonton” Writing Contest
Canora Community Leagues
The "My Edmonton" writing competition is a call for junior
high and high school aged youth in Edmonton to tell us about
what makes them connected to Edmonton. Whether your
feelings about the city are defined by one unique experience
or by your ongoing relationships with the people and places in
Edmonton, we want you to hear the diverse definitions of
being an Edmontonian as expressed by different youth
perspectives.
The entry deadline is February 28, 2012. In each of the Junior
High and High School categories, three top entries will be
chosen. Prizes will be as follows:
● 1st place: $250 cash prize; tickets to Edmonton's LitFest
● 2ed place: $200 cash prize; tickets to Edmonton's LitFest
● 3rd place: $150 cash prize; tickets to Edmonton's LitFest
All winners will be notified of the results by April 2012 and
will have their entries published by the Edmonton Journal as
well as being honored at an awards ceremony in City Hall in
