ABOUT BRANDON MOORE
Brandon and his amazing wife, Beth, have been married since April, 4th 2009. They both
graduated from UNC Wilmington where Beth majored in Education, and Brandon majored
in Philosophy and Religion. He was born and raised in the Wilmington area; and gave his
life to Christ at the age of nine at Grace Baptist Church in Wilmington. Even though Beth
and Brandon are new to Northside they are extremely excited and passionate to serve
alongside a welcoming family. In their spare time they love cooking and trying new food,
any sporting event, and being an example of Christ at work and in our community.
In this study, we will tour the incredible world of the New Testament, surveying its
background and message with broad strokes. We will have several stops along the way,
as we provide special focus on its individual books, including the Gospels and Acts, the
letters to the churches, and the Revelation of Christ. Whether you have just begun reading
the Scriptures or have studied it for years, this journey is sure to begin a new world of
discovering who Christ is and who we are in Him.

ABOUT JOE EASTERLING
Joe is the Discipleship Pastor here at Northside, having served here for over 12 years.
However, Joe has been a member of Northside since he was a teenager, having come to
Christ at the age of 11. He has a wonderful wife of 21 years named Anne, and they have
two beautiful girls, named Noelle (16 years) and Moriah (13 years). Joe is an avid sports
fan, particularly of the Atlanta Braves, UNC Tarheels, and Carolina Panthers, and he loves
to fish and hunt. More than anything, he loves to spend time with his three favorite ladies,
going on special trips with them while making life-long memories.
This study opens the door to the vast world of biblical teaching about the Holy Spirit, the
Church, and the End of Time. After taking this study, you should not expect to come out
with all the answers, but you should expect to be familiar with the wealth of truth in the
Bible concerning the questions of life. In short, you will develop a practical approach to
understanding and applying Christian beliefs to your life.

TUESDAYS

CLASS BEGINS 9/13
ABOUT ULLA SWAIN
Ulla and her husband Greg have been at Northside about one and a half years. They
celebrated their 30th anniversary this spring. They have two adult boys, Daniel and Anthony,
and a daughter-in-law Brandy. Ulla has been involved in a Bible study for the past 25 years
and leading Beth Moore studies for several years. Her favorite hobby is reading. She grew
up in Finland and moved to North Carolina when she married Greg. Together Greg and
Ulla are diehard Wolfpack fans and enjoy going to the football games.
Based primarily on the Book of Luke, this ladies’ study is a careful examination of the
life of Christ. You will be introduced to to an intimate Savior as you get a close-up and
personal portrait of the life of Jesus the Messiah. You’ll see Jesus come to a funeral and
raise the dead, confront conniving religious leaders, teach on a hillside, and even walk on
the waves.

ABOUT JANNET KRAMER
Jannet and her husband, Roger have been members at Northside for two years. She is
involved in the prayer team and Northside Women, always enjoying the opportunity to
mentor young women. Jannet has taught several Bible studies at Northside and loves
getting people excited about studying the Word. She came to know the Lord 38 years
ago while taking a Precept Bible study. Jannet is the mother of three grown children and
“Nana” to four precious grandchildren, ages 5 to 11, including twin grandsons. She enjoys
knitting, reading, traveling, and especially enjoys baking goodies to share with her class.
Jesus promised his disciples that it was better if he returned to heaven because then the
Holy Spirit could live inside them. Yet how many Christians consider their connection to
the Holy Spirit so strong that they would call his presence in them better than Jesus beside
them? This study explores questions such as: What does it mean to have a relationship
with the Holy Spirit? How do the Bible and God’s Spirit work together? You will discover
that when you see your mission as something to do for God, you get overwhelmed. When
you see it as something to do with God, your work becomes exhilarating. The difference
is in knowing that the Holy Spirit is ready to fight your battles, use your gifts, and offer to
you the peace of his presence.

ABOUT LORI SUMNER
Lori fell in love with Jesus Christ on November 15, 1989, when she gave her heart and
life to Him. Lori has two wonderful adult boys, 18 and 20 years old. Her ministry passions
are teaching, mentoring, supporting victimes of separation and divorce, and our street
population - including the HomeSite, prisoners, and the addicted. Lori cares about people
from all walks of life.
Most people will tell you that separation and divorce are the most painful and stressful
experiences they’ve ever faced. It’s a confusing time when you feel isolated and have lots
of questions about issues you’ve never faced before. DivorceCare meets weekly to help
you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life. During the first 30–40
minutes of the meeting, the group watches a video on divorce and recovery subjects. After
the video, participants spend time as a support group, discussing what was presented in
the video and what is going on in their lives. It’s important you know that you don’t have
to go through it alone.
This class is $15. Payment is due the first day of class.

ABOUT ROB STRICKLAND
Rob is the Pastoral Care Minister here at Northside and has been on staff here since 2007.
Rob gave his heart to Christ on March 26, 1995, and was baptized and joined Northside the
following week. He has a wonderful wife of 29 years named Carolin, who dated him for 5
years before he “popped” the question. Rob and Carolin have one son named Matt who is
now married to his beautiful bride Brandy, and they have a little 4 year-old redheaded girl
named Bella. Rob enjoys sports, particularly the Dallas Cowboys and anyone that plays
against the Redskins! He also likes to target shoot and ride down on the north-end of
Carolina Beach when he can. Rob loves hanging out with his bride and thoroughly enjoys
any grandbaby time he can get with Bella.
GriefShare is designed to help you recover from the deep hurt of loss. Each day, after a
loved one passes, is tough. We never get over the loss, but we can get through it with the
principles available to you in GriefShare. These principles have helped people to prepare
for what they may go through and/or affirmed why they are feeling a certain way! The
elements used to do this are: a weekly video seminar with personal stories similar to
yours, a small group discussion, and a workbook with exercises to help you work through
your grief.
This class is $17. Payment is due the first day of class.

ABOUT CAROLYN BELL
Carolyn and her husband Jeff have been married for 30 years and have been members
at Northside for six years. They have three beautiful daughters - Angela, Marissa, and
Jennifer. Carolyn works full-time as a Respiratory Therapist and serves with Northside
Women. Growing up she believed in God and knew Christ died for our sins, but always
had uncertainty about her own salvation. At the encouragement of a friend they began
attending Northside. In January 2010, she could no longer question her salvation, and she
gave her heart to Christ fully and completely. She enjoys studying, loves reading, crafts

ABOUT ROGER KRAMER
Roger is retired after 35 years spent mostly in financial management and planning. He
and his bride of 46 years, Jannet have been members of Northside for over two years; and
are continually excited with their new church home. They are blessed with three fantastic
children (really adults at this point) and four “still perfect” (at this point) grand-children.
He is a big ACC sports fan, and is a Wake Forest graduate. Unfortunately, in the sports
category only, he is constantly “challenged” by a family that includes graduates from UNC,
N.C. State, Duke, and UVA. Never a dull moment!

ABOUT MARGARET EATON
Margaret has been a member of the Northside family since 2004, and a member of the
family of God since the age of 16, when she gave her heart to Christ. She is the loving
daughter of two incredible parents, Gene and Jeanne, and has a wonderful sister named
Cindy. Margaret is single and with no children, which allows her time to minister to others
through the Word and serve on the altar team at Northside. She loves to watch movies and
read novels.
Anointed, Transformed, Redeemed: A Study of David is based on the teaching sessions of
the Deeper Still conference featuring Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer, and Kay Arthur. These
three women explored their lives and the life of David in this six-session women’s Bible
study. Each session focuses on a different stage of the life of David: as a young man
(sessions one and two by Priscilla Shirer), as a middle-aged man (sessions three and four
by Beth Moore), and as a man facing the final third of his life (sessions five and six by Kay
Arthur). You’ll laugh with them, cry with them, and learn to love God with them.
