Kettering’s Art on the Commons Festival
Celebrates 25 Years!

Kettering, OH – One of the most popular Dayton-area art festivals returns this August for its 25
year! Rosewood Arts Centre presents Art on the Commons at Kettering’s Lincoln Park Civic
Commons on Sunday, August 11, from 11 am until 5 pm. Art on the Commons features fine arts
and crafts by over 100 talented artists from around the country. Works for display and sale
include a juried selection of jewelry, ceramics, paintings, photography, metals, watercolor,
sculpture, glass, fibers and wood creations. This year's artists were selected from over 140
entries from throughout the United States by jurors Julia Gourley, Executive Director of the Krasl
Arts Center in St. Joseph, MI, David Kirchner, a Dayton-based ceramic artist and educator, and
Sue Ellen Boesch, an artist and Kettering Arts Council member.
Participating artists are from Indiana, Kentucky,
Michigan, Ohio, South Carolina and Tennessee.
Miami Valley artists included are: Guustie
Alvarado, Karen Becker-Benedetti, Jana Song
Bobo, Jason Boyer, David Brand, Matt Breunig,
Dianne Collinson, Tom Croces, Michael Davis,
Jim Delange, Carole Fox, Peter Frederick, Pam
Geisel, Kathy Gross, Alena Hagadorn, Rosemary
Huart, Susan Huff-Pleimann, Don Keith, Kate
Lally, Heidi McGrew, MaryLou McMullen, Cathy
Mills, Trish McKinney, Greg Neal, Christine
Noah-Cooper, Sandra Picciano-Brand, Daniel
Powers, Sharon Stolzenberger Jay Tiehlet,
Esther Wende, Nancy Whitfill and Loretta
Wikstrom.
Martha Healy (Cincinnati, Ohio), ceramics
Entertainment is scheduled throughout the day and will feature “American creative music” by
renowned local band Puzzle of Light and the Motown-inspired music of The Sly Band.
Concessions include the Fraze Pavilion’s Ernie’s, homemade cupcakes by Go Cupcake!, pizza
from Catch-A-Fire, the cooling treats of Kona Ice of Dayton, the chef prepared cuisine of
Harvest and Kettering’s own Sweet P’s Handcrafted Ice Pops.

The Kettering Civic Commons is located at 675
Lincoln Park Boulevard, just off Shroyer Road near
the Kettering Government Center. The Civic
Commons can be reached from either Stroop Road
or Dorothy Lane. Free parking is available within
walking distance. Handicap parking is available on
the southbound lanes of Lincoln Park Boulevard.
