VADA of CHARLOTTESVILLE,
INC.
I hope you are all having fun with your horses despite
the awful weather you have been ‘enjoying’!
We have a pretty busy year ahead of us, we have clinics
and schooling shows, I hope I will see as many of you as
possible at them.
Our first ‘head to head’ meeting of 2015 will be at
Shadwells on April 6th, this is a fun social event as well
as a business meeting and a chance to meet your fellow
club members as well as enjoy good food. Please do
come, and join us. It isn’t all business! We get to chat
as well.
The Up Through the Levels Clinic with Carter Bass, is
right around the corner at Glendower Farm on March
14th. Useful information on the new tests! Please
invite folks; if they are not VADA members we would
like all to come. Jan Templeton is the organizer for this
clinic.
The first Schooling show of the season will be at Cedar
Creek Stables in Staunton, on April 11th. Volunteers
will be needed, so please speak up if you would like to
be a scribe or scorer or whatever.
Spring will be here soon.
Hang on in there.
Yours,
Melyni

Dressage Extensions Has New Owner
“”Littleton's Dover Saddlery buys Calif. firm
The Lowell Sun
01/15/2015
LITTLETON -- Equestrian products provider Dover Saddlery Inc.
said it has acquired a California based specialty retailer for an
undisclosed price. Moorpark, Calif. based Dressage Extensions,
which sells equestrian dressage, will continue operating
independently.
"We are impressed with the success of Dressage Extensions
and look forward to working with this prestigious brand to
continue its focus and growth with the dressage market
segment," said Stephen L. Day, president and CEO of
Dover Saddlery, in a statement.
Dover Saddlery Inc., based at 525 Great Road, sells equestrian
products -- items used to own, ride and train horses -- in retail
stores, through catalogs and over the Internet. It posted 2013
sales of $93.8 million. The company was founded in 1975 by
U.S. Equestrian team members. Shares of Dover Saddlery closed
Wednesday at $4.75.””

The undersigned AGREES that he/she or their son/daughter chooses to participate voluntarily as a spectator at

subrogation to sue VADA-CH, its board members and officers and volunteers, and the Farm and Farm’s owners, employees,
agents, and/or representatives for any loss, damage, injury, or death to person or property sustained by me/my daughter/son in

tack. I assume all the foregoing risks and any other dangers intrinsic to equine activities and accept complete responsibility for
making any and all examinations or inspections relating to those risks and any other potential risks of recreational activities, and I
agree and understand that VADA-CH and Farm shall have no responsibility whatsoever to make any such examinations or
inspections. I further assume all risk of, and agree to hold harmless Farm and its owners, employees, representatives, or agents, or

activities sponsored by VADA-CH at Farm, I consent to the child's participation and AGREE to all of the above provisions and
AGREE to assume all of the obligations of this Release on the child's behalf.
I acknowledge that I have read the following language from the Code of Virginia relating to limited liability on

participant nor any participant's parent, guardian, or representative shall have or make any claim against or recover
from any equine activity sponsor, equine professional, or any other person for injury, loss, damage, or death of the
participant resulting from any of the intrinsic dangers of equine activities.
B.
Except as provided in § 3.2-6203, no participant or parent or guardian of a participant who has knowingly executed a
waiver of his rights to sue or agrees to assume all risks specifically enumerated under this subsection may maintain an
