Harry Houdini, Founding President 1917 Doug Edwards has been in magic for over 50 years. He is a well-­‐
recognized icon in the magic community as an inventor, p erformer and collector, boasting a collection valued at over 3 million dollars. Doug has been featured on the August 2009 cover of M-­‐U-­‐M. He’s performed on the Regis Philbin Show, the Joe Franklin Show, the Matt Lauer Show, acted on the Guiding Light Soap Opera, Good Day New York and many others. The 104 Salute to Magic “Doug Edwards has always worked hard to preserve the history of magic.” David Copperfield Science Trix — A One-­‐Man Show by Professor Friedhoffer Presented in 2 parts with a brief intermission Professor Bob Friedhoffer’s ‘Magic and Science’ The Science Behind the Magic -­‐ A university tested and proven method for giving people of all ages an interest in both science and magic. Audience members learn how to perform science experiments disguised as magic tricks, with simple materials found around the home. Bob’s program is based on his many award winning science and magic books. Opening Remarks by MI Richie Magic, 73rd President of the Parent Assembly In 1994, Doug sold the largest Cardini collection in the world to David Copperfied. On a personal note, his favorite non-­‐magic collectible is the Pittsburgh Pirates cap worn by baseball legend Roberto Clemente in the 1971 World Series and right up to his death in December 1972. Bob Friedhoffer, Ph.D., was the 2011 Parent Assembly M agician of The Year. He’s an accomplished author and lecturer having performed around the world in such venues as The Singapore Science Center, The American Museum of Natural History, Brookhaven National Laboratories, and the Weizmann Institute in Israel.
