Robert Been has been making fine silver and turquoise jewelry for over forty years. He
chooses only the best stones, keeping his designs simple so that the stone is featured and
displayed to its best advantage. He prefers Hachita Turquoise but also uses stones from the
Kingman, Campitos, and Crescent Valley mines. Robert uses sterling silver in his designs and
fine silver for the bezel that holds the stone in place. His selection of jewelry includes earrings,
bracelets, rings and pendants.
Robert was born in the east but moved to the boot heel of New Mexico as a child and
has lived most of his life in the area working as a cowboy, horse trainer and farrier. His talent
as a jeweler took him to the Hawaiian Islands for ten years where he owned his own silver
smith shop. Robert lives in Animas and joined the Chiricahua Gallery in 2016.
