CORNWALL COLTS PROPOSAL FOR REVENUE SHARING WITH
CORNWALL RIVER KINGS
Based on revenue generated (ice rental) with City of Cornwall, the
Cornwall Colts propose a 80-20 split in revenue with the Cornwall
River Kings within the Cornwall Civic Complex.
This would consist of a mix of all ad space (rink boards, back lit signs,
wall, floor and door signage) to be broken down and confirmed by
both parties.
For ice rental usage by the Cornwall Colts, please see the attached
documents.

THE COMMUNITY & CORNWALL COLTS
Since L992, the Cornwall Colts have been one of the flagship
franchises of the Central Canada Hockey League.
Having graduated more than 100 players to NCAA
Dl,
NCAA D3, ClS,
Semi-Pro and Pro hockey, the Colts have a proud tradition of offering
Cornwall and area players the opportunity to realize their dreams
with hockey and education.
The Colts continue to be one of Cornwall's largest clients when
it
comes to facility rentals, especially now that the Colts helped to
create the CCHL developmental Spring League. Not to mention the
partnership between the Colts and Own the lce, one of Cornwall's
fastest growing businesses.
The Colts will pay as much as $48,000 for ice renta! in the 2015
calendar year alone with mostly non-prime time hours (where the ice
would not be rented otherwise).
Since 2[Lzatone, the Colts have graduated or ensured commitments
for no less than 5 local born and trained players to NCAA full
scholarships ensuring that up to $400,000 stays in our community
rather than those families paying for post-secondary education in
another city.
The Colts have also brought positive national attention to Cornwall by
winning 5 CCHL Championships, one Fred Page Cup Championship as
well as hosting 2 Fred Page Cup Eastern Canadian Championships and
1 RBC Cup National Championship.
The economic spinoff from those three combined tournaments hosted
by the Colts is upwards of S1,900,000.
The Colts bring to life the slogan Cornwall
- a World of Possibilities.
Graduated players inctude Jesse Winchester, Brock McBride, Kyle
Baun, Marly Quince, Kent McDonell, Jeff Legue as well as Tyson and
Tylor Spink.

To Whom It May Concern:
The Cornwall Colts have been one of the CCHL's premier franchises for two decades
and continued to be a leader at the Junior A level in our region and across Canada.
ability to embrace the
with
local businesses and
community they are based in and build relationships
One of the key elements to success of any franchise is the
groups to ensure the continued survival of local Junior A hockey.
As a stable operation, the CCHL has been part of the landscape in Eastern Ontario for
over fifty years. No league in Canada at this level has maintained the location
stability and franchise health better.
As a pillar of that stability, the opportunity to share with local municipalities in
partnerships like facility rental, income and revenue sharing has benefited both the
clubs and municipalities alike. Dealing with long term partners gives both parties a
sense of comfort that ongoing relationships only can have.
It would behoove any partner in these relationships to embrace the benefits of
stability whether it be the teams or the facilities. In a challenging time of change for
all, identifying the consistent and stable options are among the most important
references of all.
I can offer my personal support of the excellence in Cornwall as recently
demonstrated to the nation through the Fred Page Cup in Aprilas clear and present
proof that this franchise and it's community are a fortunate group with a bright
future.

To Mayor O'shaughnessy and City Council,
Please accept this letter as support for the Cornwall Colts hockey club as we
seek to expand further into hockey development in 2015 and 2015.
Own The lce and the Cornwall Colts have developed a partnership to ensure
local boys and girls continue to prosper, excel and develop their hockey and life
skills to reach their maximum potential. ln order to succeed with this strategic
initiative the Cornwall Colts and Own The lce have involved local Colts players
and coaching staff as part of the development team.
Colts players are always a part of our on-ice and off- ice programming,
especially with the younger players (6-L2 years old).
Own The lce continues to expand our programming with ice rentals in excess
of 561,000 (first 9 months of operation) and we would not be able to continue
to develop our programs without the assistance and participation of the
Cornwall Colts Hockey Club.
Simply put, without the Cornwall Colts and our developmental programs,
dozens of Cornwall and area players would never have had the opportunity to
attend post-secondary education much less benefit from a career in business or
sports.
Our progressive partnership has been very successful over the past year as we
have worked together to develop youth that may one day become Cornwall
Colts. No Iess than
15 local players suited up for the Junior A Colts last season.
It is intended that Own The lce and the Cornwall colts will seek further
commitment from the City of Cornwall in 2015 and 2016 as we will be looking to
secure more ice rentals to run development camps and prospect tournaments
that will benefit economically for the city of Cornwall.
Based on this successful partnership of both organizations over the past year we
welcome any questions you may have and look forward to exPanding and
increasing our client base throughout ontario, quebec and New York State.
Regards,
Brock McBride
Own The lce & Own lt Performance
To Mayor O'Shaughnessy and City Council,
This letter is in support of the Cornwall colts Hockey Club.
For more than two decades, the Cornwall Colts have provided local players
with an opportunity to further, not only their hockey careers but education
careers through scholarship opportunities that would not have been otherwise
available.
The viability of the Cornwall Colts Hockey Club is crucial to continue to support
local players in their quest for a higher level of education with the potential to
become future business and community leaders.
to share in my ice rentals (ranging from $25-$30 K/year) with the
Cornwall Colts prospects and players to assist in their development and will
continue to do so,
I am pleased
The Benson Group has been a sponsor of the Colts since their inception.
the Colts produce so much that it is
common to have several of them work for the Benson Group in any given year.
I believe in the type of young men
The Colts players of today are our future business and community leaders.

Marty Benson
