Niessing – Company Profile
Headquartered in Vreden, Germany, Niessing has manufactured wedding-rings since
1873. Other items of jewelry were added to Niessing’s product assortment in 1974. The
name “Niessing” stands for high-quality contemporary design that epitomizes equal dedication to classical and experimental approaches. With more than 130 years of experience
in the processing of precious metals, Niessing has acquired an extraordinary breadth and
depth of expertise. This tradition expresses itself in the interplay between skilful craftsmanship and the intelligent application of contemporary technologies.
Niessing designs jewelry in shapes that are appropriate to the materials. A new design
often results from the idiosyncrasies of a particular processing technique. Rather than
arbitrarily inventing additional shapes at random, Niessing’s designers rediscover and reinterpret elementary phenomena to create imaginative contemporary jewelry. The resulting designs are self-evident: they convey their genesis, which the beholder consciously
comprehends and unconsciously intuits.
The relationship between a human being and that person’s jewelry is essential for Niessing. A piece of jewelry should never dominate the woman or man who wears it. Instead, it
should emphasize the force of the individual’s personality. Jewelry should adorn its wearer
and enhance the sense of wellbeing. And jewelry should be fun to wear!
Numerous design awards underscore the exceptionally high-quality of the design and
craftsmanship in Niessing’s jewelry. The Niessing tension ring (NIESSING Spannring®) has
achieved superlative significance. Walter Wittek, an artist and resident of Vreden, created
the Niessing Ring®, which was first marketed in 1981. It was granted legal recognition as
an artwork in 2001 and is thus protected against imitation and plagiarism. Distinguished
museums have acquired the Niessing Ring® for their jewelry and design collections.

Color wedding-ring
Niessing has more than 130 years of experience designing and manufacturing weddingrings. The essence of this experience is: a wedding-ring must be comfortable and pleasantly wearable. Day after day, for „her“ and for „him.“ The first choice is gentle oval all
around - Niessing‘s classic wedding-ring with a width of 5 mm. A timeless shape, serene
and well balanced. Substantial enough for a lifetime.
But why opt for a classic? Why not choose something more personal, ornamental and
contemporary?
A wedding-ring symbolizes a marriage and a shared future. That‘s a long time - a very
long time. And life never stands still. We grow and change, and so do our personalities.
Each era has its own modes of expression, its own characteristic shapes. And sometimes,
after a few years, they no longer suit our self-image and the person we‘ve become. What
then? Buy new wedding-rings?
A wedding-ring with a harmonious and timelessly beautiful shape embodies all the qualities it needs to accompany us as a reliable constant through the changing course of time.
»Which color is your love? Discover your new color and material together with your partner. Every person has his or her ideal spectrum: your eye color, skin tone and hair color
are unique. Each personality feels spontaneously attracted to its corresponding colors.
Enjoy the pleasure of rediscovering them together with your mate. For some people, juxtaposing two different hues creates a new and delightful chromatic harmony. Niessing’s
palette of colors is finely and sensitively nuanced. Give yourselves plenty of time. Allow
the colors to work their magic. 750 gold in green, yellow, red, sand or gray, and 950 platinum are the color for the comfortable oval wedding-ring classic.«
- Material/widths: 750 yellow, green, red, sand, gray gold, or 950 platinum. Widths 5 mm

Color tension ring
»The smooth oval Niessing tension ring is a classic and a tactile delight. Now presented in
a rainbow of five different gold hues: finely nuanced cool gray, velvety soft sand and red,
luminous yellow and startlingly fruity green.
Gold in colors from Niessing, each tone with its own character. Which color most flatters
your face? Which hue best harmonizes with your skin tone and eye color? Embark on a
voyage of discovery and capture gold in your personal color!
More than any other ornamental ring, the unique Niessing tension ring epitomizes the
diamond solitaire. This ring’s cool styling highlights its floating brilliant-cut diamond. The
gem’s fire is visible from all sides. And the ring’s design is more fascinating today than
ever before. It’s the loveliest way to wear a brilliant-cut diamond on your hand! Highlighting a diamond set in gold in one of five shimmering colors, each ring is more than merely
a classic. Just like the women who wear them, these rings can be trendy and glamorous,
tender and feminine, or strong and dynamic.«

and luminous gem is embedded in velvety gold in the colors yellow, green, red, sand or
gray. Decide for yourself which color lets your personality radiate best.«

Flurry
»Gold ring, with or without brilliant-cut diamonds. Available in yellow, red, gray, reddish,
sand or green gold. An impulse causes the ring to generate big waves. A slender, sparkling line of diamonds is set into the ring‘s sleek, quadratic profile. A festive row, generous yet unostentatious, surrounds the finger. You’re free to combine them anew, time and
time again.«
- Material/widths: 750 red, gray, green, sand, yellow gold, about 43 brilliant-cut diamonds
à 0.01 ct (depending on ring size). Widths 2 mm

Smarts
»Cufflinks made of pure stainless steel or steel combined with 750 gold (in a choice of
green, yellow, red, sand or gray) or 950 platinum. Appropriate for every occasion and

smaller button on the back closes the cufflink, a larger button on top adorns the top, and
nothing comes between them but a strong round post.«

Cirrus (necklace, ring)
»Ring and hoop necklace made of springy hardened gold or platinum. The band loops to
create an airy sculpture for the hand and a loose-fitting eye-catcher for the décolleté. The
figures float far into space, shimmering with the coolness of the north or the warmth of
the south, intersecting and looping to attract admiring gazes. Will the beholder comprehend the hidden order?«
- Material/diameter necklace: 750 yellow gold (photo) or 950 platinum. Diameter 12.8 cm
- Material/widths ring: 950 platinum (photo) or 750 yellow gold. Widths 6 mm

Triangle
»The tension ring as a variation of the original design. The formerly circular cross-section
acquires a new character. It follows the familiar profile of a brilliant-cut diamond. The metal’s shape alludes to the stone’s shape: its upper part, its girdle, and its lower part. The
gem’s cut and the ring’s cross-section approach each other. The lines naturally augment
one another. The ring surrounds the finger with slender and elegant lines.«
- Material/widths: 750 yellow gold, 950 platinum, brilliant-cut diamond.
Widths 4, 4.5 or 5 mm

Fleur (pendant, earrings)
»Pendant for the Niessing coil or as jewelry for the ears with a diamond-studded pin. Five
flat rings form a calyx-shaped, filigreed, floral circle, regular and serene. You can turn the
upwardly curving side outward or inward. The apertures in the floral forms give you ample
freedom to create cheery images. Light and dynamic.«

Curves
»Wedding-ring. Gold with platinum covering. Three widths, with or without brilliant-cut diamond. High-gloss polished and strongly convex inside, matte finished and less markedly
convex outside. Cozily proportioned to rest peacefully on the finger. The ring’s colorful
gleam comes from within. The exciting magic of a new beginning hides from strangers’
gazes. Do you enjoy little secrets?«
