The Guinigi Apartment lies on the top floor (the fourth
one) of an old and prestigiuos Palazzo in the heart of
Lucca's historical centre. The Palazzo belonged to the
Guinigi Family that ruled Lucca between XIV and XV
century. The building has been recently restored and
they have preserved the original structure and facade.
The Guinigi apartment lies on the attic floor and where, it's told, Lord Paolo Guinigi kept his lover prisoner in this
apartment. He didn't want her to escape so two gates were put in front of the apartment's door .. They are still there!! The
restoration has preseved these two ancient gates.
Due to its high position on the top floor the Guinigi apartment offers its guest a wonderful view on the roofs, churches
and towers of Lucca. The Guinigi apartment offers silence and quietness also. Nearby a school of Music and the only
noise you can sometimes hear is a Piano Music.
The apartment has recently been renovated with great care in rustic tuscan style with beamed ceilings and terracotta tiled
floors. In contrast the furniture is a mix between contemporary and antique style creating an elegant setting.
COMPOSITION: Entrance Hall, Long Corridor, Dining Area, Living Room, kitchen open onto a small balcony provided
with table and chairs, two queen bedrooms, a bathroom with bath-tub/shower and another half bathroom (sink, wc, no
shower).
Every modern comforts have been provided: tv, dvd and cd player, dish washer, washing machine, air co in both the
bedrooms, internet wireless.
The apartment lies on the 4° floor: the lift leads you up to third floor and then there are 19 steps (in two sets) to get to the
apartment.
ABOUT THE LOCATION.
The apartment is located in one of the most beautiful street of Lucca.. maybe the most important from an historic point of
view.. it is a quiet area and near everything you may want or need.
The famous Guinigi Tower is about 100 metres further away.
The access to the wall is 250 metres away as well as the gateway to the train station.
The weekly market is less than 10 minutes walking .
It takes you 5 minutes walking to the grocery store or to the supermarket... or to go to have breakfast. Everything you
want or need is really a few steps the antique building's front door.
Parking on payment is 10 minutes walking away. Free parking outside the city's walls is about 15 minute walking away..
maybe less.

.Self Catering Property: no staff, no maid, no breakfast nor meals, no hotel services. No daily stays: minimum a week.
