MigthyGate 1. Step 1. Check InSim version iHUD for LFS needs InSim version of you LFS installation to be greater or equal to 5. To check this, go to LFS installation folder. It is usually on: •
•
“C:/Program Files/LFS” for 32-‐bit OS “C:/Program Files (x86)/LFS” for 64-‐bit OS Enter “docs” folder and search for a file named InSim.txt. Open it and search a line (it is on the very first lines of the file) that says “const int INSIM_VERSION = X;” where X is your current InSim version. If it is less than 5, you must upgrade LFS to a newer version (we strongly recommend you that upgrade to the latest version). 2. Step 2. Setting cfg.txt Go to LFS installation folder. *see step 1 for its usual location. There must be a file called cfg.txt. Open it, search the following lines and set them like below: •

OutGauge Mode 1 OutGauge Delay 1 OutGauge IP [The IP of your IOS device] *see below OutGauge Port 10984 OutGauge ID 0 *To know the IP of your IOS device do the following ON IT: 1. Enter the Settings menu. 2. On the left menu, enter the Wi-‐Fi submenu. 3. On the list of available networks (below “Choose a Network”) there must be one of them that is ticked. Touch the arrow to the right. 4. The IP you are searching for is to the right of the “IP Address” label. 3. Step 3. Changing LFS shortcut for automatically InSim start Search the shortcut you use when opening the game (usually placed on Desktop). Do right-‐click on the shortcut and do click on Properties. From all the tabs, select the one named “Shortcut”. On the field “Target” there must be something like “[some directories depending on your folder installation]\LFS.exe”. You must change it to “[some directories depending on your folder installation]\LFS.exe /insim=10983”. Note that “insim” is preceded by a slash, not a backslash. Make sure that when you start the game, you do so by clicking on the shortcut or it won’t work. If you cannot find how to do the shortcut setting, you can start InSim manually by tiping inside LFS “/insim 10983” but you must do it every time you start the game. 3 MightyGate

MigthyGate 6. FAQ. iHUD for LFS shows the message “Unable to Connect to Server”. This error is given by iHUD for LFS when App doesn’t receive the packets in the communication process: 1. Be sure that Windows Firewall has an exception for LFS. Please go to Step 5. 2. Be sure you are using your LAN IP and not your Public IP. Usually your LAN IP is 192.168.X.X or 10.1.X.X. a. You can consult your IP with this simple steps: i. Go to Start Menu ii. Go to Run and insert CMD and press Enter. iii. It will appear a Window where you can type commands. Put next command: ipconfig and will appear something like this: iv. Please search IPv4 in the info given by ipconfig. This is the IP that you have to put in iHUD for LFS. b. Please be aware that if you have a Dynamic IP instead a fixed IP it’s possible that you need to consult your IP each time you restart your computer. This is also applied to your iOS device’s IP. Please, go to Step 2 to know how to get you iOS device’s IP. 3. All above are Ok, but iHUD for LFS is showing the same message: a. Don’t worry, you can connect with MightyGate : [email protected] and we will help you in anything that you need get iHUD for LFS running. Information about times doesn’t show correctly. This happens if iHUD for LFS is not connected before starting a LFS session (qualyfing or race) because information that LFS sends at start cannot be requested anymore. For this reason, you will not be able to reconnect iHUD for LFS and get the times work correctly (sometimes it gets somehow resynchronized) if connection gets down, although all other features will still work correctly (speed, rpm, fuel, throttle, brake, position). 12 MightyGate
MigthyGate When I am in boxes in qualifying, iHUD for LFS shows some telemetry. Due to how LFS works internally, when you go to boxes, it starts sending telemetry of viewed car (spectator mode) so telemetry shown is not from your car but from another one. This means that when you go out from boxes, times showed will be from the viewer car while you were in boxes. Until you complete a valid lap, we cannot sure that times shown are yours. When starting a race, current lap time doesn’t start timing. Don’t worry, iHUD for LFS is working correctly. Since LFS does not advise from green light at start, iHUD for LFS cannot start current lap time until you get through sector 1. 13 MightyGate
