Granite Bay Grinder - Norcal High School Cycling League
Granite Bay Grinder
Folsom Lake Recreation Area
Saturday, March 19th – North Conference
Sunday, March 20th – South Conference
This venue is ideal for riders and spectators
alike. The course will mostly be singletrack
through trees and tall grass, along with the sand
pit (yep, it’ll be there again this year) and some
rocky sections. It’s fun, fast, and flowy, and
we’re confident the trails will bring smiles to all.
Looking forward to seeing you there!

Volunteer
Our huge turnout of volunteers at Fort Ord made the whole weekend
go super smooth! We’re looking forward to your help again for this
race and encourage you to sign up online for the volunteer position
you’d like to donate your time to: http://vols.pt/wuwnaK
Let’s talk about
poison oak (again)
If you raced Fort Ord,
there’s no way you didn’t
see this stuff. Remember
“leave of three, let them
be!” If you happen to
touch some, wash the area
off with Technu or with
soapy water, and keep in
mind that the oil from the
leaves and sticks can hang
out on shoes, socks, and
pants. Ain’t no joke!
Bring
your dog!
You are welcome to bring
your furry friend to the
race! Please keep them
under control and on leash
at all times, and be sure to
clean up after they do
their business.
Haro Bringing Demo Bikes!
Haro Bikes will have their demo fleet
out for our NorCal League folks to try
on Saturday and Sunday! Stop by and
say hello and take something out on the
trails!
Neutral Support by Mike’s Bikes
Neutral support is free mechanical assistance for
any student athlete with an emergency. Brian
Popplewell, Community Events Manager of
Mike’s Bikes, provides this service. Student
athletes are expected to come to each race with
fully functional, race ready bicycle, but
sometimes things happen! Spare parts are also
available for sale at the neutral support tent.
Coaches and adults are not given priority at the
neutral support tent. Mike’s Bikes is a proud
NorCal League sponsor, and it is our hope that
you will choose to support them as well.
Hotel Accommodations
BEST WESTERN PLUS Orchid Hotel & Suites: League families get
suites at a discount rate of $89 (+ tax) for standard suites. Call (916)
784-2222 to make reservations and be sure you say you are with the
NorCal League to get the discount. You may visit Orchid Suites at its
website: http:/www.orchidsuitesroseville.com
There’s also a list of hotels our friends at Placer Valley put together for
us that offer special rates for the race weekend. Check it out:
