About
Sunriver Resort
History
More than 70 years ago, Sunriver Resort was the location of Camp Abbot, where major training exercises were carried out by the Army Corps
of Engineers during World War II.
In 1965, John D. Gray and Donald V. McCallum announced their plan to build a gem among the resorts and hotels in Oregon, and named
the site Sunriver. Their dream was brought to life three years later in 1968 when Sunriver Realty sold its first home site, and the resort and
residential community was unveiled as a place of casual, luxurious comfort.
Today, the resort has become an essential vacation destination in the Pacific Northwest by staying true to its history and memorializing Camp
Abbot’s founder, Colonel Frank S. Besson, by naming its popular event venue “Besson Commons.”

Carson’s American Kitchen
Carson’s American Kitchen is a lively eating, drinking and gathering place offering satisfying American fare and spectacular
views. With a Pacific Northwest sensibility, Chef Travis Taylor’s seasonally-driven menu is a whimsical, fun and delicious
experience for everyone.
Twisted River Tavern
Let’s get twisted! Twisted River Tavern is Sunriver’s favorite bar to kick back and let loose, with incredible views, great
drinks and craveworthy tavern food. Regional Pacific Northwest beers and wines, and classic cocktails complement tavern
bites from Chef Travis Taylor.
The Grille at Crosswater
The most upscale of Sunriver Resort’s restaurants, The Grille at Crosswater, embodies the bounty of the area. The
distinctive menu of New American cuisine prepared with the freshest and finest local ingredients available. Overlooking
Crosswater’s highly praised golf course, indoor seating boasts breathtaking views of the scenic surroundings, and outdoor
seating is available for warmer days.
Zeppa Bistro
Italian for “wedge,” the family-friendly Zeppa Bistro boasts wood-fired pizza, mouthwatering paninis, fresh salads and
diverse wine offerings. With gorgeous views of Obsidian Lake and Mt. Bachelor, guests can dine al fresco on the patio and
even bring their four-legged friends.
Merchant Trader
Guests on-the-go and between adventures can stop by the Merchant Trader Café for delicious deli-style dishes and treats.

McDivot’s Café & Turn Café

Golf at
Sunriver Resort
Golf Overview
Sunriver Resort is proud to be home to some of the nation’s most award-winning golf courses. As the largest golf resort
in Central Oregon, and the only resort with four distinct courses providing 63 holes of championship golf on bentgrass
greens, Sunriver Resort has been the host site for numerous USGA, PGA Tour, PGA of America, AJGA, and NCAA
tournaments. With aesthetic grace, the courses feature holes bordering the meandering Sun River, and the dramatic use of
directional and fore bunkers. Offering lessons from experts, a Golf Academy for all skill levels, and free golf for kids when
playing the courses with their parents, Crosswater, Meadows, Woodlands and Caldera Links each provide ample challenges
for golfers of all skill levels.
Additionally, Sunriver Resort has more than 1,000 golf memberships with a variety of participation levels. Members receive
access to the golf courses, carts, practice balls, unlimited visits to the Putting Course at Meadows, and more.
Crosswater
Crosswater, Sunriver Resort’s golfing gem, is a gorgeous 18-hole heathland-style semiprivate course. With 600-acres of
woodlands and carefully preserved wetlands, it’s no wonder why Crosswater has been declared one of “America’s 100
Greatest Courses.” The Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary-certified course features five tee placements for each hole with
bentgrass fairways and greens. Crosswater is threaded by the Deschutes and Little Deschutes rivers adding a challenge (or
boost!) as often as seven times in a round.
Meadows
The breathtaking layout of the course features tremendous variety within its 18 holes sod with T-1 bentgrass, seven of
which boarder the meandering Sun River. The use of directional and fore bunkers serve up challenges for all golfers, from
beginners to the pros. Meadows is also home to the popular nine-hole putting course so guests can continue to perfect
their game.
Woodlands
As one of the Northwest’s finest championship courses, Woodlands is praised for its superb conditioning and beautiful
setting. With an abundance of water and outcroppings of lava rock, shot accuracy is a fun and exciting challenge.
Woodlands helped Sunriver Resort earn accolades from Golf Magazine as their Gold Medal Award-Winning Resort.
Caldera Links
Caldera Links and Golf Park is a tour-quality 12-hole golf experience for both seasoned golfers and those new to the
game. Developed by renowned architect Bob Cupp along with Sunriver’s own Jim Ramey, Caldera Links features top
quality bentgrass greens and bluegrass tees. The carefully designed parks are comprised of a family-friendly nine-hole
challenge course and a three-hole private practice loop.

Sunriver Resort provides nearly 45,000 square-feet of flexible meeting and banquet space. From northwest-style indoor meeting facilities

convention service managers, and audiovisual and business staff take care of every detail to ensure any gathering is a memorable one.
Weddings Whether hosting an indoor wedding looking out onto a snow-filled wonderland or an outdoor reception on a gorgeous lawn with pine trees
and wildflowers, the beauty of Sunriver Resort makes it one of the most desired wedding destinations in the Pacific Northwest. The resort’s
carefully crafted wedding packages, cuisine, and décor provide immense thought down to every last detail to make the festivities as unique
as the celebrated couple.
The Great Hall Celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, the historic northwest space accommodates up to 350 seated guests or 500 attendees for a
reception style event. As the premier wedding or event site for Sunriver Resort, the Great Hall boasts a wrap-around deck, dramatic exposed
beams and roaring fireplaces for a one of a kind setting filled with rich history.
Besson Commons
Sunriver Resort’s newest outdoor venue is ideal for a more casual setting. With seating for up to 500 guests, mountain and golf course views,
bocce ball courts and fire pits for marshmallow roasting, Besson Commons makes any event a special and entertaining occasion.
Mt. Bachelor Lawn Situated along the Little Sun River, Mt. Bachelor Lawn features views of golf and mountain vistas and seats up to 350 guests. As a popular
option for ceremonies and cocktail receptions, tenting can also be provided for special occasions seeking a stylish touch.
Homestead Lawn
The sun-filled outdoor function space is 6,560-square-feet and can accommodate seating for up to 150 guests or up to 400 attendees for a
standing event. The grassy lawn boasts a gorgeous setting with views of Meadows Golf Course and Mt. Bachelor. Tenting is also an option for
a striking and intimate setting.
Courtyard Pavilion The outdoor Courtyard Pavilion is covered by a tent May thru October and seats up to 125 guests underneath the tent and an additional 100
guests surrounding the tented area. Ideal for small weddings or intimate gatherings, the Courtyard Pavilion is an elegant and memorable
wedding and event location.
Merchant Trader Lawn Adjacent to the main lodge, the Merchant Trader Lawn can accommodate up to 200 guests with picturesque views for a fun and entertaining
venue perfect for warm welcome dinners and rehearsals.
Sunriver Resort Lodge
Featuring five meeting spaces such as the Landmark, Heritage and Fireside rooms between 644 and 2,130 square feet, the Sunriver Resort
Lodge can accommodate up to 250 guests. Each space has its own deck, spectacular views and a northwest feel, ideal for small to medium

Drawing inspiration from nature, Sage Springs Club & Spa encapsulates the spirit of the high desert and draws guests

relaxation lounge, guests can choose from a selection of specialty services, like the Oregon Hazelnut Scrub or Sunriver
Nourishing Body Wrap, along with a variety of massages, facials, manicures, pedicures, and waxing and makeup services.
At Sage Springs Club & Spa, therapists, trainers and instructors take a holistic approach to wellness, ensuring that each

Relaxer Massage for the perfect way to experience the high desert. Dry, sun-kissed skin is rejuvenated with locally grown
and hand-crafted Oregon lavender and sage that combine to delight the senses and promote deep relaxation.
○ Honey Hydration Ritual: Indulge all of the senses with this treatment where organic cane sugar, Fijian honey, coconut

Club Facilities
Exclusively for club members and resort guests, the nearly 37,000-square-foot Sage Springs Club offers regular cycling
classes, strengthtraining equipment, personal training packages, a studio for Pilates and yoga, an indoor three-lane lap
pool, three indoor tennis courts, four outdoor tennis courts and access to additional outdoor courts. Guests can also
