In October 2011, NuVasive announced its
acquisition of Impulse® Monitoring, Inc., a
leading provider of outsourced intraoperative
monitoring to hospitals and healthcare
facilities. The partnership of NuVasive and
Impulse combines best-in-class products
and procedures with industry-leading service
to meet the needs of our customers, and
ultimately, their patients.
As NuVasive grows and expands, we maintain

We have changed the way spine
surgery is being performed through
our innovations: our minimally
disruptive Maximum Access
(MAS®) platform, our revolutionary
nerve avoidance monitoring system
(NVM5®), our innovative solution
to a safe and reproducible lateral
access surgery (XLIF®) and our
growing number of offerings of
biologics, cervical and motion
preservation products.
Over the past decade, NuVasive
has built an entire spine franchise,
developing more than 80 products
spanning lumbar, thoracic and
cervical applications as well
as neuromonitoring services.
Our products have been used in
hundreds of thousands of spine
surgeries. Those are more than just
impressive numbers—they represent
improving the daily lives of patients.
SOLAS® currently has
over 500 members

Education and Training
Our numerous products and
reproducible surgical procedures
are complemented by our
development of surgeon education
programs and training. We provide
basic and mastery courses, and
also offer fully operational O.R.
labs in our East and West Coast
offices for surgeon training.
To further promote research
and surgeon education, we
established and continue to fund
an elite organization of the most
accomplished lateral access
surgeons: SOLAS, the Society
of Lateral Access Surgery.
SOLAS currently has over 700
members, and continues to grow
in number and reputation.
