in order to ensure their top quality, Nowy styl products are
tested for durability and safety in the company’s internal laboratory and, additionally, in external research institutions, which
is confirmed by relevant certificates. Quality control covers all
stages of product creation: from designing a prototype, through
every stage of production to the preparation for dispatch.

and motion systems applied in them, every potential user

build, which will ensure a proper sitting position and reduce

Nowy styl chairs and armchairs have been approved for safety and have been granted a gs label by the lgA institute in
Nuremberg; they have also been positively evaluated for their
ergonomic and hygienic quality by the polish National institute
of hygiene.

and experts in the field of product construction and safety, ergonomics, technology and quality research. For manufacturing of

the Nowy styl collection includes over 200 design lines
of armchairs and chairs available in about 100 upholstery

Nowy styl products are manufactured from environmentally
friendly and – as much as possible – reused materials, therefore they are almost 100% recyclable.
Nowy styl products are available to customers in every corner of
the world. We make our best efforts to ensure efficient execution of any orders, no matter how large they are, packaged in
the way chosen by buyers and delivered to any place of their
choice.
in the manufacturing process we use Fsc certified wood,
which is a guarantee of the full legality and top quality of
the material from which our products are made. plastic elements are produced from regranulates obtained in recycling
processes; metal elements are made from materials prepared by their manufacturers with the minimum amount of
waste. We have production waste reused or we do it at our
own facility; accordingly, plastic elements are transformed
into regranulates utilised further in the manufacturing
process and wood is used to produce heat needed in our
furniture production.
We specialize in large batch orders. We completed a contract
for 50,000 chairs for the Athens Olympics facilities in 2004,
big contracts for the French post and the French ministry of
Finance, for the hungarian government and parliament, the
petrochemical institute in the united Arab Emirates; we also
supplied chairs for the European council summit, the Football
World cup in germany in 2006, the miss universe contest in
panama, to mention but a few. the sale of Nowy styl products
is carried out through the group’s 10 branches situated in the
key points of Europe and a network of over 3,500 dealers on
6 continents.

hOW tO sElEct
thE right chAir?
STEP 1.
Find out how long the person is going to spend sitting
a day and then suggest a proper type of a chair according
to the following rules:
working time up to 2 hours
suggest a chair with a swiveling base, adjustable seat height
and a stable support of the lumbar part of the spine. Any
mechanism from Nowy styl offer will suit the needs in this
case.
working time up to 4 hours
suggest a chair with the functions as above plus:
→ adjustable back height,
→ adjustable seat depth,
→ adjustable back tilting.
the above functions are ensured by the following mechanisms: Active-1, CPT and Kontakt.
moreover make sure that the chair’s back reaches at least the
person’s shoulder blades.
working time over 4 hours
suggest a chair with the richest range of ergonomic solutions
– the chair that enables “dynamic seating” throughout the
whole working time thanks to the following functions:

STEP 2.
Select the chair suiting the type of the person’s
body posture:
A person should always choose a chair matching his or her
posture. A person of a massive body posture and significant
height needs a chair with a wide seat and a high back. On
the contrary, chairs with small seats, lower backs and narrow
distance between armrests are in fact better choice for slimmer and shorter people.
STEP 3.
Explain how to set the chair in the right way:
Ideal back – it should support the back up to the shoulder
blades at least; its convex part found on the lumbar level
should ensure support for the lumbar part of the spine.
Up&down function – found in some chairs, enables adjusting
the back height and the lumbar support height in an amazingly easy way, without standing up.
Angle of back’s tilting – it should be adjusted to the currently
performed work. in each position the back should support
the lumbar part.
Dynamic back – ensures stable support for the spine while
moving in the sitting position. it is indispensable while working over four hours. it always allows for keeping the right
position while working, relaxing and free “rocking”.
Supporting forearms on armrests – it reduces burdening of
the spine and shoulders. Armrests with the conveniently adjustable height ensure an angle of 90º between the shoulder
and the forearm. Adjustable armrests allow for adjusting their
height to the height of the user; the horizontal move of the
covers (front-back) enables to suit the distance between the
armrest and the desk where the user keeps their forearms
while working.
Convenient seat height – the seat height should enable stable position of the feet on the floor and a parallel position
of the thighs to the floor. With optimal regulation of the seat
height, the angle between the thigh and the shank should
be 90⁰.
Optimal seat depth – it guarantees support for 2/3 up to 3/4
of the thighs’ length. between the front edge of the seat and
the popliteal area there should be a distance of 1-2 centimetres that prevents tiredness and leg ailments to occur. Additional option of a adjustable seat depth allows for adjusting
it to the needs of nearly all potential users.

chairs are a crucial component to achieve the perfect posture while working at the desk. they should be chosen according to the size and shape of the user's body, as well as
the functions they are to perform. besides, when choosing
a chair a special attention should be paid to the selection of
a movement system – a “heart” of each office chair, determining its adjustment to the type and most of all – the length
of working time of each individual. Nowy styl offers chairs
with 3 levels of movement systems provided by a selection
of mechanisms, including:
a movement system offering a basic support during the movement and preventing back problems
when sitting in an operative chair. it is provided by CPT and
Kontakt mechanisms – both in permanent contact type.
CPT features:
→ the backrest remains in permanent contact with the
user’s back without changing position of the seat,
→ the backrest can be locked in any
position by means of a knob,
→ backrest height adjustment is carried out by
means of a knob fitted to the chair's back,
→ seat depth adjustment is carried out by
means of a knob fitted under the seat.
Kontakt features:
→ the backrest remains in permanent contact with the
user’s back without changing position of the seat,
→ the backrest can be locked in any position by lifting a lever,
→ Up&Down function – backrest height adjustment
uses a ratchet mechanism, which operates by
moving the chair’s back up on a concealed ratchet
system within the back itself; once the maximum
height is reached a further lift returns the chair
back to the bottom of its height adjustment,
→ Anti-Shock function protects the sudden impact of
the backrest against the user’s back; after the lock
of the backrest & seat is released and the “freefloating” option is engaged, the backrest remains
immobile; only when you lean back again the backrest
move for- or backwards to allow your back.
a movement system ensuring a basic support and comfort during the movement when sitting in an
executive armchair. it is provided by Tilt and Multiblock – both
free-floating backrest mechanisms.
Tllt mechanism features:
→ the seat and backrest jointly remains in
permanent contact with the user’s body,
→ the backrest can be locked in one, upright position,
→ adjustable backrest tilt force is adjusted by means of
a knob fitted centrally under the chair mechanism. the
user simply turns it in one direction to increase the back's
resistance and in the opposite direction to lower the
back's resistance. this works quite well and the knob can
generally be adjusted while still seated in your office chair.
Multiblock mechanism features:
the seat and backrest remains in permanent
contact with the user’s body,
→ the backrest can be locked in one of five possible positions,
→ adjustable backrest tilt force is adjusted by means of
a knob fitted centrally under the chair mechanism.
the user simply turns it in one direction to increase
the back's resistance and in the opposite direction
to lower the back's resistance. this works quite
well and the knob can generally be adjusted
while still seated in your office chair,
move for- or backwards to allow your back.

an upgraded movement system ensuring
a highly ergonomic support of the body and enabling highly
recommended “dynamic seating”. it is provided by Active-1,
Active-IN, Epron Syncron, Epron Syncron Plus, I-marc 840,
Duetto Syncron/MPD 165 and Tatto mechanisms – preventing back problems and promoting healthy posture during
extended hours of seating.

Nevertheless, the functions differ slightly throughout the
range of mechanisms (a precise list of functions provided by
each mechanism is situated in the navigator):
→ this mechanism allows the chair to follow the
user’s movements thanks to the synchronized
tilting action of the seat and backrest,
→ the seat and backrest can synchronically tilt in
the rate 2:1 or be locked in selected position by
lifting a lever, depending on uses’ preferences,
→ Up&Down function – backrest height adjustment uses
a ratchet mechanism, which operates by moving the
chair’s back up on a concealed ratchet system within the
back itself; once the maximum height is reached a further
lift returns the chair back to the bottom of its height
adjustment (except from the Duetto Syncron/MPD 165),

adjusted while comfortably seated in your office chair,
→ seat sliding system – the seat depth is set up by a lever,
the user is able to place the clenched fist between the
edge of the chair's seat pad and the back of the knee.
