If you’re thirsting for a swig of Fresh-Up, Just Juice, Pepsi or V, your local dairy
has plenty in the chiller cabinet.
That’s no accident. Frucor, the company behind those brands, has put a lot of thought
into making sure dairies around the country are well stocked with ice-cold cans and
bottles. Frucor came to Vodafone for advice about smarter ways to improve service
and increase sales.

How we helped Frucor get ready for better business
Frucor is a stand-out performer in the New Zealand non-alcoholic beverage market. The key to its success
is a portfolio of appealing brands. But popular brands won’t translate into sales if customers can’t find them
in store. So Frucor collaborated with Vodafone in a series of innovation workshops to help boost the selling
capabilities of its sales representatives.

•Product and business data is delivered in a much more
compelling way. Instead of viewing Frucor’s reps as order
takers, dairy owners now see them as partners who can
help them grow sales.
An app a day keeps inefficiency at bay. Vodafone worked with Frucor to develop an app that could help
the sales representatives become more efficient when out on the road. Each Frucor sales representative
was issued with an iPad loaded with a bespoke app. At the start of the day, when the iPad is turned on,
the app provides the rep with a customer-specific plan for that day, including objectives derived from a new
combination of insights from previous customer interactions and Frucor’s business intelligence systems.
Going from order takers to order makers. Frucor’s app lets the sales representative show the customer
how changes in their store’s product mix could deliver more profit. By benchmarking to other customers,
the data provides tangible information to help their customers grow their business.
Smart use of data in the field drives sales. By transforming the sales call from a humdrum process into
an interactive one, Frucor has become more of a business partner to small retailers.
A cool tool to optimise sales staff activity. The innovative route planner function on Frucor’s app gives
sales reps the power to organise their sales calls more efficiently – and ensures they are discussing
the right things with retailers.
