Patrick Hagerty: “NAMA Update - Embracing Change”
Pat has been with Vistar since November of 1994. He has
held various positions including Vice President of Merchandising, Executive Vice President and President/COO
of Vistar Specialty. He is currently President & CEO of
Vistar and Senior Vice President of Performance Food
Group. Pat is a graduate of Colorado State University and
the University of Southern California. Prior to Vistar, Pat
was the Director of General Merchandise at CUB Foods, a
division of Super Value. He also spent 10 years with PACE
Membership Warehouse as Regional Manager and Director of Merchandising. He began his career at King Soopers, a division of Kroger. He held the positions of Store
Manager, Buyer, Director of Research and Development,
Director of Store Planning and Director of Marketing. Pat
is presently the Chair of NAMA and on the board of the
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Ken Shea: “Paying attention to Coffee Service trends.
Are you surviving or thriving? “
Ken is a veteran of more than three decades in the
Coffee Service industry and has witnessed much change
during his roles as a distributor, operator, consultant
and broker. Ken’s address will provide a glimpse of past
trends and change and the impact on our industry while
also looking at today’s evolving industry and how one’s
business can be a beneficiary or a victim of change.
Mike Wooden: “Beverage Trends”
Mike received a Bachelor of Science in Food Marketing
from Western Michigan University and is currently Sr.
Category Manager – Food Service Strategy/Vending with
PepsiCo. Mike has over 25 years of experience in the CPG
industry with Kraft Foods, Miller Coors, and PepsiCo. He
has worked in all channels of trade and across a broad
variety of customers including, most recently, SYSCO and
Dollar General. Mike enjoys spending time with his wife
and 3 sons, riding his Road King, and fishing for snook off
the beach where he resides in Naples, FL.

Stephanie Kull: Latest Vending Concepts and Trends
in the U.S. and Overseas.
Stephanie received a Bachelor Degree in Communication from Arizona State University and currently
serves as the Director of Communications & Media
Relations for Vendors Exchange®. In her time at VE®,
she has worked closely with vending operators to
help solve the problems that face the vending industry. Her passion for learning new markets & product
innovations has served the marketing department
well. Stephanie serves on the NAMA Emerging Leaders Network as the Social Media Liaison. She resides
near the VE office in Cleveland, Ohio with her new
husband Nathan (July 2016!).
Amber Starr: Progressive Growth for Your Micro Market: Maximizing your Sales through Advertising and
Promotions
Amber received a Bachelor of Business Administration in
Marketing from the University of Iowa and is currently
the Marketing Coordinator at G&J. In over 7 years at
G&J, her passion for the learning and experiencing the
Vending industry has lead her into a variety of positions
including Customer Service, Trade Show Management,
Procurement, Accounting, and Graphic Design. She currently spends her days coordinating Micro Market promotional programs between Operators of all sizes and
the Manufacturers which G&J represents. Amber is a
member of the NAMA Emerging Leaders Network and
serves as Trade Show Advisory on the Steering Committee. Amber resides in St. Petersburg, Florida with her
fiancé and four-legged children, Lola and Willis.

Ms. Wilson will speak about the Micro Market guidelines that have recently been implemented.

José Menéndez,
Texas State Senator
District 26 - San Antonio
The son of immigrants, State Senator José Menéndez grew up working at his family's small
business in San Antonio. He graduated from Central Catholic High School before earning degrees in Business Administration and Latin American Studies at Southern Methodist University.
As a family man, Senator Menéndez has been married to his best friend Cehlia NewmanMenéndez since 1995. In his spare time, José enjoys spending time with his three children,
Dominic, Victoria, and Austin.
As a businessman, Senator Menéndez has helped tens of thousands of families realize the
American Dream of homeownership through his work at Stewart Title. His work ethic and business success led to his rapid promotion from a local commercial marketing representative, to
National Director for Multi-Cultural markets, to a Vice President of the National Title Services
division in less than 15 years.
He was first elected to San Antonio City Council in 1997 where he represented the city's west
side. During his three years on City Council, Jose served as Chair of the International Relations
Committee and was a member of the Small Business Strategy Committee.

"Restored From Your Missed Super Bowl Of Life"
How do you overcome missing a huge moment in your life?
Al Harris played in the NFL with the Chicago Bears from 1979-84,
1986-88 And Harris was an important part of the 1984 Chicago
Bears that set NFL Sack Record and went to the NFC Championship game.
His football career was about to hit its peak in 1985 with arguably one of the greatest and most
recognized teams in NFL History. The 1985 Chicago Bears. But he missed that great season due
to a contract dispute.
Harris shares principles of how he was able to overcome and be restored from a big setback
that was known worldwide. And how those principles can help others who have missed their
big moment in life.

Sandra Larson, Esq. - NAMA Government Affairs Update
Sandy has served as Senior Director and Counsel for National Automatic Merchandising Association for nearly 20
years. Sandy manages NAMA’s Pasadena, California office
and government affairs for state councils in California,
Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona, Oklahoma, Texas, Hawaii, Iowa,
Missouri, Kansas, Minnesota and Wisconsin. She is a graduated of the University of California at Los Angeles with a
B.A. in Psychology and received a law degree from Southwestern University of Law in Los Angeles. Before joining
NAMA, Sandy was Deputy Trial Counsel for the State Bar
of California. Previously she was an attorney with the law
firm of Clark, White, Hutton, Holmes and Simpson in Glendale, California. Before attending law school she did fundraising for the Boy’s Club of Pasadena and United Way of
Los Angeles County.
She is married to John B. Larson, an attorney in private
practice in Pasadena, California. John and Sandy have two
children, Kirsten 28 and Erik 25.
Dr. Nathan Jarvis, Conrad Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston
“21st century challenges: How we are redefining hospitality
for Gen Z and Millennials and what it means for the year
2050”
Nathan Jarvis began his career in the Hospitality industry at
age 13, scooping ice cream at the Houston Livestock Show
and Rodeo. Since then, he has worked in fine dining establishments, bakery operations, private cooking schools, and
as a caterer. He received a Bachelor of Science from the
Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston, and later taught as a
chef instructor there. He earned a Ph.D. in Food Science
from the University of Arkansas. His doctoral work evaluated the ability of the foodborne bacterium Listeria monocytogenes to survive starvation conditions; conditions which
the bacterium might encounter in food production areas.
He has published 10 scholarly peer-reviewed articles and 2
book chapters. With a passion for all things related to food,
drink, and hospitality, he is delighted to be back at the Hilton College as a faculty member at the San Antonio campus.
