Our topic this term has been Teddy Bears. We went on a teddy

has been Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We have loved playing with the Goldilocks wig, the three bowls and spoons and the
porridge oats. Congratulation to the three pupils in our Class

Class 7
Fun in June
Happy
Holidays
This month the pupils have had the opportunity to choose their own topic to study. Class 9 pupils
picked ‘Disney’ as their choice. We have been in the jungle, under the sea and in outer space! We
made ‘Honey Bear Buns’ in cookery for our ‘Jungle Book 'week. We created our own ‘Nemo’
underwater pictures and we made a Star Wars ‘Yoda’ card for Father’s Day. We have been doing a
lot of measuring this month; length, weight and capacity. The pupils enjoyed using the balance
scales and comparing them to the electronic scales. In Drama, our pupils pretended to be in a
barber’s shop. We had good fun learning how to have a wet shave. We have been very lucky with
weather and Class 9 have enjoyed walking over to Solitude Park to use the outdoor gym. We have
had a brilliant year and the staff are very proud of all our pupils. Thank you to our parents for their
continued support. We hope you have a lovely summer break and look forward to seeing everyone
in the new term.
Class 10
June Newsletter
What a fab month we have had in Class 10. I hope
that you are as proud of your children as I am, and
enjoyed reading their successes in their end of year
reports. They are all superstars!!!
We all had an amazing trip to White Park Bay. The
behaviour and manners of all the children was
exceptional; you really can take them anywhere and
they always represent the school well.
With trips to the cinema, Visit from the ice cream van,
Friar Tucks and Solitude Park we have been kept
busy.
I have had a great Term 3 in Class 10, the
children are amazing and are a credit to their
parents. I am going to miss the pupils who are
moving on to Class 11 but look forward to working
with the new boys coming from Class 9.
Here we are at the end of the school
year already—it is hard to believe!
Our pupils have come such a long way
over the school year, they have made
progress across the board, but I am especially proud of how they have improved their communication skills. They
are able to initiate conversations, encourage each other and have fun with
their peers—it is lovely to see, and
hear!
We continued our work on China—
looking at their culture, famous places
and food. Of course the most fun we
had was cooking and tasting a variety
of Chinese dishes—home made pot noodles, chicken curry, sweet and sour
chicken and egg fried rice—it was great
fun trying to use the chop sticks.
We are delighted to have 2 prize winners in our class—well done Zara for
winning the Masterchef cup and Amy
for achieving Senior Sports person.
Thank you so much for your continued
support over the last year—we have
had a lot of fun and learned a lot along
the way.
Have a happy and safe summer—see
you next year!
Leavers’ Class have had an action packed June! We started the month with a day out to
Newcastle - A walk along the promenade, a beautiful lunch at the Burrendale Hotel and
even a little paddle! Some of our pupils went to SHARE and met a whole new bunch of
friends from Rathore! Anna won a prize for Empathy and Compassion while Nathan picked
up the award for Community Spirit. Our Leavers’ Assembly was an emotional celebration!
