Welcome to the Sierra Oaks K-8 Auction! On behalf of the Sierra
Oaks students and staff, I would like to thank you for choosing to
spend your evening at such a fun and invaluable event. The Sierra
Oaks PTA plays an integral part in the educational success of our
students. I can never say thank you enough for the parental
involvement, community building activities, and financial support
provided by the PTA. As I make my way each day across our
campus, I can’t help but notice the vital supports put in place by our
generous PTA…numerous iPad and Chromebook sets, our
Kindergarten/1st grade aide, entertaining and educational
assemblies, our Art Docent program, video and camera technology
for our 7/8 yearbook and media class, and our free family events
throughout the year which build upon our strong Sierra Oaks
community feel. Of course, these are just to name a few! And, it is
no accident that our school received the prestigious honor of the
2014 California Distinguished School Award. For these reasons, I
thank you in advance for your generosity and time devoted to our
students. It truly is the collaboration of PTA, staff, and students that
make Sierra Oaks K-8 an amazing educational and community
environment.
Have a wonderful evening!

Welcome from the Auction Chairs!
Collectively, our two families have been at Sierra Oaks K-8 for
13 years now and we have watched and felt the ups and
downs familiar to any school. At present, we feel like Sierra
Oaks K-8 is in a better place than it has been in years. Under
Sandy Butorac’s leadership, we were recently awarded the
California Distinguished School recognition. More important
than any award, walk on campus – look at the smiling faces of
our children, talk with one of the many readily available
teachers, be a part of one of the many free family fun nights
and you’ll notice “IT”. There is a feeling in the air – a sense of
pride of being a part of such a strong community, in and out of
the classroom. There is a reason we chose this year to be the
Auction Chairs – we actually volunteered for this job (no one
coerced us). We wanted to have a night where “IT” was the
focus. Where we would come together as a community and
support “IT” at our school. So when we say, open your wallets
because, “IT’s for the kids”…now you know what “IT” really is.
Thank you for coming tonight and supporting Sierra Oaks K-8.
Your support is what makes our school special. Have fun, buy
a few items and remember, “IT’s for the kids!”
Sincerely,
Marc & Stephanie Dall’Era

event of a dispute, the Auction Committee shall act as final
authority in determining the winning bid.
3. The Sierra Oaks PTA does not make any expressed or

Silent Auction (including Classroom Art Projects and
designated Silent Auction Teacher Treats)
1. Items offered in the Silent Auction have bid forms attached
or nearby. You bid simply by writing your last name and bid
number and the amount you want to bid. Bid forms have
predesignated minimum bid increments listed. Please press
hard - you are making three copies.
2. You can bid any amount you want at or above the current
bid as long as you meet at least the minimum bid increment
listed on the bid form. In the event all predesignated minimum
bid increment spaces are filled on the bid sheet, you may write
your bid amount with your name and bid number on the bid
sheet. All bids must meet minimum bid increments.
3. Some items are marked “Buy it Now”. For these items,
enter your last name and bid # on the “Buy it Now” line and
the item (or portion of that item) is yours. Bidding is then
concluded for that item, or portion of that item.
4. You may bid on any item in a Silent Auction section until
that section is closed. Bidding for Silent Auction items in that
section will close at the posted section closing time. A Silent
Auction official will call the close of bidding and then collect
bid sheets for the closed section. You will be able to see if you
are the successful bidder on an item by looking at the yellow
copy of the bid form after the section is closed.
5. A Silent Auction bid is a binding bid and obligates the bidder
to purchase the item if the bid is the highest bid at closing.
Bids cannot be retracted once made.
