Senior class officers are an important
part of the senior class. There are five
different roles filled by five different
seniors. Together the class officers
ensure that events and anything the
class may need is taken care of.
As president of the senior class, Ellie
Attaway makes big decisions and plans
important events.
“I don’t like when things are
unorganized, not well-planned, and
under-organized, so I wanted to make
sure senior events weren’t like that,”
said Attaway.
So far Attaway has has planned the
senior trip, made sure that the class
song, flower, song, and motto were
were chosen, and is currently helping
to plan graduation.
Attaway is involved in clubs such as
NHS, NTHS, and DECA. In the future
she hopes to go to college to earn a
business degree and drive a Lexus.
As vice president, Travis Veach
assists the president with planning
activities for the class. So far, Veach has
helped plan the senior trip and
graduation.
Veach has been involved in clubs
and organizations, such as FFA, NHS,
NTHS, German NHS, Student
Government, Italian Exchange, and
bowling. In the future, Veach hopes to
earn a master’s degree in agricultural
education.
As class secretary, Gabby Hersey
takes notes on what is discussed at
officer meetings. So far, Hersey has
helped the president and vice
president coordinate events, such as
fundraisers.
“Being a secretary has taught me
that secretaries actually have a lot of
responsibility, maybe even more than
the president because they have to
make sure they’re in the know all the
time.... they have to be so much more
involved than everyone else,” said
Hersey.
Hersey is involved in RAZE, DECA

My senior year has been one of the
most influential years of my high
school career. I’ve met so many diverse
people that I’ve come to be great
friends with, and I’ve made so many
amazing memories that I never
dreamed I would get the chance to
make. Those memories are all thanks
to all the wonderful people I’ve met
during this year alone. However, had
I not taken the risk to branch out of my
comfort zone as I did, I never would
have met all these people.
Almost everyone who I’ve talked
to about high school has said that your
senior year is your best year of high
school. From the experience that I’ve
had, those statements have definitely
lived up to expectations; however, I
never believed my senior year would
be so great until I was actually in it.
At the start of the 2014-2015 school
year, senioritis hit me so hard that I
couldn’t even function. The minor motivation that had somehow kept me
going during my previous years of
schooling was like a waterfall of productivity compared to the slow drip of
the leaky facet that provided my moti-
the Trojaneer
vation for my senior year.
Once April hit, and I realized just
how close the end of the year was, I had
a bit of a mental breakdown; it was a
mixture of elation, fear, and nostalgia. I
was definitely happy to get out of high
school and to start making decisions for
myself. I was so ready to start living my
life for me instead of for my parents or
teachers, but all of a sudden it hit me. I
was graduating, and after graduation, I
would be leaving. I would never again
see nearly three quarters of the people I
saw on a daily basis ever again. The
people that I’d grown up with for the
past 18 years or so years were all going
to go their separate ways. It was a
strange thought, and it kind of freaked
me out.
I suppose all this change is a good
thing; it’s a start to a new life, a start to
my new life. Getting out of high school
is something I’ve dreamed about for the
past 18 years, and now it’s finally here.
I’m so happy that the time to leave this
awful place has finally come, but the
amount of nostalgia that has crept up
on me in the past few months is insane.
I might actually miss this place.
Best Wishes
Class of 2015!
From The Trojaneer Staff
My high school experience has included just about every single emotion
known to man. I’ve laughed, cried, and
even wanted to fight about 98 percent of
the school. All in all, it’s been a pretty good
four years.
In the beginning, I was terrified. Coming from middle school to high school was
seriously a scary thought. I always
thought to myself, “What if people don’t
like me?” or “What if I lose all of my
friends?” It made me more nervous than I
ever was. My first day was nerve-wracking, and I got lost about 500 times, but it
all started coming together, and everything slowly became better.
I’m extremely blessed to have amazing
friends like Cheyanne Crawford and Taylor Johnson. I can’t explain how thankful
I am for them being by my side. They’re
literally my best friends and the only
people I trust with my whole life.
They’ve definitely helped me survive
throughout the years.
People ask me if high school is scary,
and my answer is no. It’s only scary if
you make it out to be, so my advice to
upcoming high schoolers is to be yourself. Don’t ever let anybody tell you who
to be. If they don’t like it, forget them.
They’re not worth a second of your time.
Honestly, if you follow what everyone
else does, you’re not going to be happy.
Looking back through the years, I
wouldn’t change a thing. No matter how
many times I’ve cried, been upset,
wanted to give up, I kept pushing
through, and I’m proud to say I made it.
The good times overpowered the bad,
and I’m happy to be a part of the 2015
graduating class.

Time When...

Entering my freshman year and not
knowing what to expect was a nervewracking experience. From trying to
find my classes to keeping my grades
up, everything was a hassle. Being in
high school prepares you for college,
right? At the end of my four years, I still
don’t feel ready for college; furthermore,
I’m not quite ready to enter the next
phase of my life.
High school wasn’t that much fun for
me. I goofed off most the time and didn’t
care about the consequences. Now my
dumb actions have come back to haunt
me. After goofing off freshman and
sophomore years, junior and senior
years were a lot of work. I had a 1.5 GPA
at the beginning of my junior year. That’s
what I get for skipping and just not
doing my work.
I may be graduating this year, but I
still don’t feel ready to move on with my
life. I feel like I have a lot more to learn,
not just in my education, but with life
lessons. I’m afraid to go out into the
world and make mistakes. I’ve made
some pretty bad ones along this bumpy
road, and they all came back to bite me
in the butt.
I just never really took high school
seriously. I thought I could breeze my
way through and pass. Boy, was I
wrong. There’s a lot more to it than
passing. I wasn’t thinking about my
future. Even now as I’m finishing up
my senior year, I still don’t care much
for high school.
It’s funny. Growing up, I used to
watch movies about high school. I
thought the movies would portray
high school as it was in real life. Those
movies were DEAD WRONG. I
expected cliques: the populars, the
nerds, jocks, band geeks, outcasts, all
that good stuff. That’s where
Hampshire excels. Hampshire is a place
where it doesn’t matter if you’re
popular. It doesn’t matter if you play
sports or if you’re rich. I had friends
from all the "cliques."
Even though high school is coming to
an end, the memories made will last a
lifetime.
From meeting new friends to finding
the one true love, high school is full of
momentous occasions.
Seniors Hannah Stewart’s and
Amanda Marks’ favorite high school
memories are making new friends and
getting to see them again after summer.
Senior Zak Davis’ favorite memory
involved one of his best friends.
“My favorite memory from high
school was when Antonio and I had
broken board pieces and used them as
swords.
The wood splintered
everywhere. At the end of the day, it was
a day well spent with my best friend,”
stated Davis.
Senior Tre Keiter said he likes every
moment he had the chance to prove that
he is better than everyone else.
“My favorite part of high school was

group, 4H, Modern Woodmen of
America, and Faith in Action. In the
future, Hersey plans on going to college
to earn a Ph.D. in English with a focus in
creative writing and a minor in art and
cultural studies.
As class historian, Ashlyn Ramsay
keeps records of activities that have
happened throughout high school. So far,

having lunch with all of my friends,”
said senior Jordan Ludwick.
Senior Brook Smith is fond of a
memory quite different from the others.
Smith said that her favorite memory was
falling in love with her boyfriend Chris
Digman.
Senior Veronica Simpkins enjoyed an
after school activity.
“I loved dancing with the Trojanettes
in high school,” said Simpkins.
Senior Emilie Embrey said, “ I would
have to say my favorite memory from
my years in high school occurred the last
day of my freshman year. The older girls
I ate lunch with and I had a family style
lunch in Ms. Meadows’ room. We had
the best time!”
Unlike the others, senior Brandon
Turner is fond of a very life changing
memory. Turner’s favorite part of high
school was the Italian Exchange
Program.
Go Trojans!
Ramsay has helped with prom and
graduation.
Ramsay is involved in NHS, NTHS,
HOSA, and Skills USA. In the future,
Ramsay plans to go to Shepherd
University to study nursing.
Treasurer Toby Crawford keeps track
of the class's funds. As a student,
Crawford is a member of the football
team, DECA, and Event Staff.

Principals' Last Words of
Wisdom to the Class of 2015
Dear Seniors,
You are about to embark on a journey
that you could not have imagined several
years ago. As you graduate and head into
this world full of opportunities, I wish
you best of luck in your endeavors. My
advice, take your time as you prepare for
a long, and hopefully, blessed and
prosperous life. Remember, the clock
never runs backward.
At graduation, when you look to your
parents and family, you will see broad
smiles and a feeling of pride because they
know you have completed an initial
phase of your life. Your journey in life
will, sometimes, present challenges. Face
them and head on. Never give up on a
dream.
I wish you much happiness, good
health and God bless.
Best Wishes,
Mr. Scaletta
