Boys’ Soccer and Football play on this weekend. Come on out and cheer for the Skippers! Football tonight @ 7 Pm Alumni Field Boys’ Soccer STATE CHAMPIONSHIP 12:30 PM Foley Stadium in Worcester Greetings Families, Students brought report cards home yesterday and hopefully that meant smiles all around the dinner table! If the smiles were mixed with disappointment or concern, please keep in mind that the first report card of the year is as much about adjusting to new things as it is about student performance and effort. Whether your student is a seasoned Skipper or a brandnew middleschooler, new teachers and environments can often cause anxiety in students. If you are concerned about your student’s grades, please have a conversation with him/her to determine the nature of the challenge. If it is an academic concern, please contact the subject teacher directly to find out the best ways for your student to get support at school and at home. If your stu dent reports that (s)he “just can’t keep it all straight,” consider helping him/her to establish a routine of re viewing his/her agenda book with you at home. It helps your student to make sure the assignments are actu ally written down, and will help you discern whether your student understands the assignment and all of its components. I often find that by asking students to explain the project or assignment to me, that they gain a better understanding of it themselves. It’s also a good idea to keep links to teacher website and textbooks bookmarked or in a desktop folder so that they can easily be referenced. Many a disastrous evening can be averted by finding out that an extra copy of something is posted online! I wish you a wonderful weekend and thank you for the privilege of working with your students every day. Carolyn M. Connolly, Principal HOLIDAY BOUTIQUE

Thank you for your generosity. “LOL” by the Cohasset Theatre Company The newly‐named Cohasset Theatre Company, the drama club of CHS, will present "LOL," a collection of five short comedies. Ms. Berkowitz is beginning a project in which students adapt old works or art into new and exciting ones. These paintings will be part of a silent auction at the annual Cabaret night in February! She is looking for old paintings, with or without the frames. She's hoping you can scour your basements and attics, and maybe your local "boutique" for those paintings that were just never hung, or have had their day! Please drop them off at the main office.
