Client Markets
Arig was founded over 30 years ago and has since grown to become one of the largest Arab-owned professional reinsurers.
Today the Company is publically traded on the stock exchanges of Bahrain and Dubai and held by nearly 5,000 individual
and institutional shareholders, 55% of which belong to the public sector. In 2012, its reinsurance gross written premiums
reached US$ 238.6 million. Its paid-up capital is US$ 220 million.
Arig is active in the Middle East, Africa and throughout Asia. In addition, Arig has a standing participation in global
reinsurance through it’s sharing in Lloyd’s business. We believe in a free and competitive market environment where we

Medical
Awareness and demand for life insurance and related
benefits is increasing rapidly throughout the region.
Today, Arig is a regional market leader in life reinsurance.
It has an internationally experienced team dedicated
to developing markets in the MENA region. Marketing,
product development, training and technical support is
provided to insurers and Arig will offer terms to lead or
follow on treaty and facultative life business.
The demand for private medical insurance has risen
strongly over the past few years. In partnership with
its clients, Arig offers medical reinsurance including
product development and rating. The highly experienced
team also supports marketing, sales training and
claims management operations for its clients. Medical
reinsurance is written on a selective basis with strong
claims control principles exercised through suitable in
house solutions or external third party administrators.
In addition, Arig can provide or give guidance on software,
actuarial and technical solutions to help maximize the
growth opportunities being experienced by insurers.

Claims & Technical Accounts (CTA)
The Claims and Technical Accounts Department (CTA) is responsible for
processing all client claims and premium closings and treaty accounts,
as well as performing statement reconciliation, prior to the settlement of
balances. Staffed by experienced professionals in all functional areas, its
main objective is to ensure immediate agreement to technical accounts in
order to achieve prompt payment. The department focuses on individual
client service, which is provided by technicians permanently allocated
to each producer, and is divided into regional teams. In addition, CTA
handles outward reinsurance recoveries and commutations.

Hardy Arig Insurance Management (HAIM)
HAIM is registered in Bahrain and regulated by the Central Bank of Bahrain. As a coverholder of Hardy’s syndicate 382 it
is also subject to Lloyd’s regulatory regime for delegated underwriting. The company is equally owned by two partners who
have built an excellent reputation in their own right:
Hardy Underwriting Bermuda Limited, through its U.K. subsidiaries, owns and manages syndicate 382 at Lloyd’s. Its
underwriting-led approach has enabled Hardy to build a strong reputation as a respected leader across its portfolio.
Hardy has developed considerable expertise across a range of classes, including Property, Construction, Energy and
Political Violence. Hardy Underwriting Bermuda was acquired by the CNA Financial Group in July 2012.
