And to continue into the
Winter months, many members will not come to the
Center due to the weather.
One way to get to the Center in inclement weather is
to use Bucks County Transportation. They will pick
you up at your house and
bring you to the Center, and
of course, return you to
home. There is a nominal
fee, and if you have questions on using this transportation, stop in and I’ll give
you more details.
This
group is wonderful and very
professional.
Special points of interest:
In March we will be starting
our trips again, and we already have a nice line-up of
major trips. Keep checking
the Trip Table in the lobby,
the website, and the newsletter for trip information.
And remember, you need to
reserve your seat early.
Sara can answer all of your
trip questions.

Also in the Spring we hope
to have some new activities
and classes to keep you
coming back. Invite your
friends and neighbors to
come out with you. I’m
sure they’ll enjoy their time
here!

Mission Statement
The Pennridge Community Center
was founded in 1964 as the Upper
Bucks Branch of the Bucks County
Association of Retired and Senior
Citizens. The mission of the
original Center was to provide a
facility for retired and senior
citizens to meet friends and make
new acquaintances.
Over the years, the mission has
changed to provide for the needs
of the senior citizens of the 21st
century. The mission has
expanded to provide relevant
information, services, and
activities necessary to assure
aging with health, independence,
and dignity.
The Pennridge Community
Center is one of the four fullservice senior citizen centers
operated by the BUCKS COUNTY ASSOCIATION FOR RETIRED
AND
SENIOR CITIZENS
(BCARSC), a non-profit corporation. The BCARSC is funded
through the PA Department of
Aging and through selfsupporting projects. BCARSC
is an equal opportunity employer.
All programs and services
provided at the four Centers
are offered without regard to
race, religion, political affilia-
tion, or personal background.
projects.
The Pennridge Community
Center serves all citizens ages
55 and older who reside in the
boroughs of Dublin, Perkasie,
Sellersville, Silverdale, and
Telford and the townships of
Bedminster, East Rockhill,
Hilltown, and West Rockhill.
The BCARSC is responsible for
the salary of the Manager and
Assistant Manager. All other
staff members are volunteers.
All operational expenses are
the responsibility of the Center. The Executive Board,
Advisory Board, Center Manager, and Assistant Manager
are responsible to pursue all
possible sources to generate
income.
The Pennridge Community
Center is partially funded
through the Bucks County
Area Agency on Aging, the
Pennsylvania Department on
Aging, the Federal Food program, and self-supported
From Your President
I hope you and your families have enjoyed a happy holiday season!
As we approach the New Year, we reflect on a very successful 2012.
I would like to thank Debbie, Sara, and Emilio for their leadership
for their time and efforts. We also appreciate the efforts of the
Executive Board and Advisory Board. All of you have contributed to
making 2012 the best year ever!
Executive Board
I look forward to an even better 2013. Our Center has activities for
everyone just waiting for your participation. If you enjoy volunteering, please share your skills with us. Our aim is to provide programs

OUR FUNDRAISING
EFFORTS FOR OUR
OPERATING FUND
We now are doing trips in cooperation with
Hagey Tours. We are doing these trips as a
convenience to our members and friends. This
is the policy when joining a Hagey trip that
they sponsor. We will deposit 10 seats at a
time for a trip. Please book as soon as possible if you are interested, because they can
recall our seats if needed. As soon as we
receive 10 full payments, I will advise them,
although we don’t need 10 for the trip to be a
go. On the Hagey trips, departure will be at
Hagey Tours in Franconia.
CASINO TRIPS - Resuming in the Spring ! ! !
We will have a casino trip to the Showboat Casino on April 25. We need 30 people to make this trip. Please sign-up for this
trip by April 4. If we don’t have 30 people, the trip will be canceled, and most likely we will not have any other casino trips.
Please talk to your friends and relatives to make this trip happen!
The Showboat trip on April 25 will cost $30.00 per person, with $25.00 received for slot play.
SEE THE UPCOMING TRIPS ON THE FOLLOWING PAGE →
NOTICE - Due to uncertain weather conditions, we are
not scheduling trips in January or February.
We resume our trips in March 2013.
For all trips, check the flyers in the lobby or
