our new teaching staff. You
will have an excellent opportunity to meet them & to become familiar with what is
planned for classes this year

Information Evening tonight.
All attendees names’ will go
into a lucky draw for a grocery basket kindly donated
by Pak ‘n’ Save, Taupo. This
is a great opportunity to, not
only meet the teachers, but
also to socialise with other
parents. Children can come
along but will remain supervised outdoors.
You will have noticed a
number of quite dramatic
changes to the school & environment. A considerable
number of trees have been
felled for reasons of safety,
interference of power lines &
for extra light provision. The
BOT plans to replant with
foliage options that provide
both aesthetic appeal &
height limitation.
A huge thank you to BOT
member Mark Robertson for
liaising with the tree fellers,
the neighbouring farmer
Barry Grattan, the fencer
Kevin Hallmond, & for the
hours of tractor work he has
been involved in - in clearing
the sites. He also arranged
fire permits & supervised the
burning of masses of tree
debris. Much of this was
undertaken in searing holiday temperatures. Other
BOT members lent a hand &
also dealt with a ripped &
dislocated pool cover. Philip
Haycock kindly donated his
time & expertise, prior to a
wet forecast, mending a
vandalized & open-to-theelements sports shed door.
Sincere thanks to all these
volunteers who so generously give of their time to
ensure the school environment is safe & wellmaintained.
At the end of February the
fuel tank & screen just inside our school entrance
are to be removed & replaced by a new fueling
facility.
Room 6 has been refurbished. Stop by & have a
look - it is an ultra-smart
multi-purpose space with
full kitchen facilities.
The former office block has
been subject to an interior
spruce-up for the first time
in twelve years.
Our Inquiry focus for this
term is entitled enigmatically “Know Your Roots”. See
