PLEASE PRAY!
After 10 years of serving the Wabash community,
we are expressing our deepest heartfelt gratitude
for all the help we received from you in the past
for our HOLIDAY FOOD BASKET PROJECT.
Our prayer is that God will continue to stir your
heart for the less fortunate in our community, and
bless you for your involvement. Your donations
and gifts make a difference in hundreds of homes
across Wabash county. Those in need have come
to count on this blessing, and we would like to
partner with you to help us provide groceries and
meals to those who otherwise may go without. $35
will provide a Holiday Food Basket to a family
who needs support, hope, encouragement and most
importantly, love this Holiday Season. The Lighthouse Mission finds it important to show our faith
by reaching out to those who need help each year.
James 5:14-16 states, “What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but
has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose
a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily
food. If one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace;
keep warm and well fed’, but does nothing about
their physical needs, what good is it? In the same
way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” We as Staff and the Board of the
Lighthouse Mission are honored to be a part of this
exciting blessing. Please join us in any way you
can. If you are not in a position to donate financially, we covet your prayers. Thank you so much
for your prayerful consideration and continued
support, the need is great! Contact Mary or Sherry
@ 563-6979 if you have any questions/concerns.

Breakfast, Devotions & Service Project
Hostesses:
We are thankful for the fellowship we have each
month during our Men’s Ministry’s Saturday Morning Breakfast held the first Saturday of each month here at the church.
Not only do we eat a hearty breakfast and have a time of
devotions, but we also try to be a blessing to someone,
whether inside or outside of our church family, who needs
physical help working on small projects.
Patty Sweet, Cindy Klinger
For those interested in participating in the service project
following the breakfast: This month’s work project will be
helping a family who’s had some tough times. This will be
an outreach effort. The location is near Grissom. The work
will most likely include outside cleanup and perhaps moving/
helping to prepare a new place.

Laser Tag & Christmas Shopping
No meeting—Thanksgiving weekend
Meetings start at 5:30 pm
in the youth room.
I can't believe it's already time for turkey, mashed potatoes and football all
while enjoying time with family. How quickly 2014 is coming to an end.
This month we will be looking forward to laser tag on November 23rd followed by a little shopping so that the youth can have a chance to shop for
parents or siblings. Laser tag cost will be covered but other purchases
such as lunch and shopping will not be so be sure to bring a little money.
In September we had Ruth Ayres in to speak about communicating with our teens and teaching
them how to communicate/discuss, a huge thanks to those who stayed. We have been discussing
some of her thoughts at youth group such as home court advantage. Home court advantage in
youth group is similar to having the advantage when playing a sport on your home court. You
know the crowd, your being cheered on as you play, you know the field so with these things in
mind we created our own home court rules.
1. The bible is true and there is no need to debate its truth.
2. Include everyone.
3. Respect -while one person is talking tune in-don't have lots of separate conversations happening during
discussion.
4. Answer if asked a question-I don't know isn't fair.
Those few rules combined with her other strategies will over time start to shape our time together and bring about
better discussions.
CCBC Children’s Ministries
Christmas program practice has begun during the children’s
worship time. Our program, A Reason to Sing, will feature children
ages 4 through 12th grade after the Holiday Dinner on December
14th at 6:00 PM.
We will have one dress rehearsal on Saturday, December 13, at
8AM. We will also practice during the Sunday School hour on
December 14th.
Mark your calendars now!
Our all church family camp out in October was a great time with about 30 people in
attendance! Thank you to all those who came out to fellowship and brave the
elements—our first frost of the season! Brrrrr!! I hope everyone had a great
time, and want to extend special thanks to Rodney Culver and Debbie Sweet for
preparing devotions, Christine Slingluff and Jesse Lawson for their musical
stylings around the campfire, and to Mike Shoemaker for the AMAZING fire
that kept us warm and the wonderful breakfast to start our day Sunday morning! Thank you
also to everyone who came out to play!
I had the privilege of attending an OrangeTour event in Indianapolis in October
with a great group of ladies—Norene Hesketh, Debbie Reahard, and Nicole Culver.
Between the four of us we were able to attend 14 sessions teaching on the
importance, and how-to, of the family-church relationship. By training up and
putting in place a system of small group leaders, we double our impact on the
children of the next generation by creating long lasting relationships. Orange believes that by
combining the two primary influences that impact a child’s life, the YELLOW light at church and
the RED love at home, we create an ORANGE experience that will connect kids to leaders who
believe in their potential, change how they see the world and their future, and help them
experience something they will never forget.
All four of us were very overwhelmed with the amount of amazing information given to us and are
still processing it all. Soon, we will begin to discuss this program with the leaders and families
here to see how we can best use it at CCBC. I know I walked away from the weekend ready to say
YES to the next generation!!
Our next Family Focused Sunday will be on
November 30—Thanksgiving weekend.
It will be the start of our Advent Season!

The Brethren Relief Box
In the last year church’s contributions to Brethren
Relief have helped us respond when…
-An F5 tornado ripped through Moore, Oklahoma
-A typhoon ravaged parts of the Philippines
-A massive hurricane flooded parts of New York City
We encourage you to deposit into the boxes your loose change, cash, and checks. These contributions will assist us in raising the necessary funds for the Brethren Relief so in turn they may be ready
to assist those in need when disaster strikes.
DON’T FORGET…… The Brethren of Indiana are gathering to CELEBRATE!
November 2nd, 4:30 pm @ Corinth Brethren Church, 3931 N County Road 900 E, Logansport IN
This is a great time to hear what God is doing throughout all the Brethren Churches in Indiana. And, it’s a great time to
share with others what God is doing at CCBC! The meal is provided (donations accepted which will go towards Global
Missions and Missio Church 100k).

F.I.S.H..!! We are serving over 260 families a month, which is over 900
people! Thank you for your help in making that possible! May God
bless you and keep you!! ~ Janet Shoue, F.I.S.H. Director
I went to church...
for the first time this summer with my dad," Allie told us, "That's why I signed up for your thing."
Allie, a freshman at U of I who just joined a sorority, was one of our contacts who was interested
in finding out more about Greek Cru. As she mentioned, she had begun going to church with her dad
this past summer before she began college. She expressed interest in Greek Cru because her dad had
encouraged her to try to find a church amidst the busyness of college.
As we explained that Cru is not a church, but a caring community that's passionate about connecting people to Jesus, it perked her interest. Amelia, one of the Greek Cru student leaders (a senior
engineering major), and I sat down with Allie and asked the question, "Why do you think it's important to
go to church?" Allie explained that going to church makes you a better person and more well-rounded.
Amelia, who is a faith-sharing ROCKSTAR, and I tag-teamed sharing the Gospel with Allie. We explained that even going to church cannot bridge the gap that sin creates between us and God - only
Christ can do that.
After a long conversation, Allie desired to know God personally. So she prayed with us right
there (in a dingy dorm, study room) to receive Christ as her Lord and Savior!
Pray with me that Allie would grow in her knowledge of and love for Jesus! Pray that she would
immerse herself in a community of believers. Pray that God would give her the self-control to say 'no' to
temptations that often come from the college/Greek life!
Allie is one of two Greek girls who prayed to receive Christ as their Lord and Savior so far this
semester!
Meet Our Disciples
Every month we'll be highlighting a few of the students we invest in the most!
Meet Katrina!
Katrina is a senior in the Alpha
Omicron Pi sorority (AOPi)! She
leads a newcomer Bible study in
the dorms, but focuses on reaching the Greek freshmen that live
in the dorms! She is creative and
a natural people-gatherer! You
can pray for Katrina as she seeks
God's will for her life post-graduation in the Spring!
Also pray that God would use her to impact the
Greek community in mighty ways during her last few
semesters at the University of Illinois.
Meet Tommy!
Tommy is a junior and a founding father of the Beta Theta Pi
fraternity! He is eager to reach
the men in his Greek house with
the Gospel. Pray for Tommy and
his 'brothers'. That he would
have great opportunities to sow
seeds of the gospel and as he
considers filling an executive position in his Chapter.
In other
news...
Cru's Annual Barn Dance was last weekend
and the Greek Cru girls had a rootin'-tootin'
good time! Evan and a team of students
planned the dance which was held in a barn
outside of Champaign! Fun socials like this
are a great way for new students to connect
with Cru for the first time! Everything we do (even a dance in a barn) is geared toward winning students to Christ!
Last night Evan gave the talk at large group Cru! He
wrapped up Cru's talk series called "Cru at the Movies". He paralleled some of the themes seen in the
movie Inception to Romans 1:1-7... honing in on
God's Fatherly pursuit of His children. It was powerful and Spirit-led (but I'm a biased wife)! Pray that
God continues to use the message He spoke through
Evan to convict and encourage the hearts of students!
Sadly, I forgot to snap a picture of him during his actual talk, so you're stuck with this poor quality photo
of him practicing in our apartment!
Pray, please?
Pray for our upcoming Fall Getaway. Pray that students
would hear the Gospel from the speakers and seminars we'll
be having... but also pray they would experience the Gospel
through the love and care of new friends who love Jesus
above all else!
Pray that God would show Evan and I (as well as our student
leaders) new, innovative ways to reach the Greek Freshmen class so that they might know the overwhelming love and power of God!
Pray for Evan and I as we continue to grow in marriage. Pray that God would use the Dave Ramsey
class we recently began to make us better stewards of God's money. Pray that we would learn to fall
more and more in love with Jesus!
