VDIG Operators Guide
Video Display Gauge
Many MasterCraft boats will feature a color display for the 2008 Model Year. The Video
Display Gauge is capable of displaying engine, boat, and Perfect Pass speed control
information.
Video Display Gauge
Information is divided into manageable pages or screens and organized into a
straightforward menu structure for presentation to the driver. Display controls,
conveniently located along the bottom of the gauge, allow rapid navigation of the menu
structure to display any desired information.
Display Navigation buttons
Menu Display Screen
Display navigation is intuitive. Pressing the Menu button brings up a display of the
available information organized and illustrated as file tabs with each tab representing a
screen of information. Repeatedly pressing the MENU button shuffles the tabs to bring a
new tab to the top of the stack. Pressing the SELECT button takes you to the screen
represented by the tab on the top of the stack.

The system anticipates the need to display information and automatically brings up
certain screens when they are needed. For example, the system brings up a related screen
when it senses any of the following events:
Adjusting the trim brings up the Trim screen
Adjusting the ballast brings up the Ballast screen
Pushing the Perfect Pass button brings up the Perfect Pass screen
Any alarm condition brings up a warning screen
Selecting the DEPTH tab takes you to the screen illustrated below. This screen digitally
displays depth, water temperature, air temperature, and illustrates the depth trend The
system also has a user adjustable depth alarm that can be adjusted from the SETUP tab.
Menu Display Screen
Selecting the BALLAST tab takes you to the screen illustrated below. It allows the
driver to see the status of all the ballast tanks installed in the boat. This tab is a plug and
play tab so uninstalled ballast tanks do not appear on the screen.

Selecting the TRIM tab takes you to one of the screens illustrated below. These screens
display the position of the installed single trim tab or dual trim tabs. .

Selecting the MAIN tab takes you to the screen illustrated below. Any information
available to the instrumentation system may be selected by the driver to be displayed in
this screen. This screen is organized into four quadrants with the user selected
information digitally displayed in each quadrant.

To change the information displayed simply:
Press the UP or DOWN arrows to highlight the quadrant that you wish to change
Press SELECT to access the pull down menu
Using the UP or DOWN arrows highlight the desired information.

MasterCraft boats equipped with the Video Display Gauge feature integrated Perfect Pass
Wakeboard Pro speed control software.
The Perfect Pass application can be entered by selecting the CRUISE tab on the MENU
screen or pressing the remote Perfect Pass button. Perfect pass is turned on and off by
pressing the remote perfect pass button. Please refer to the Perfect Pass manual for
detailed operating instructions.

The Set Up screen is the gateway to
the Set Up sub-menu from which you
can adjust the displays brightness,
set the depth and fuel alarm levels,
select the desired display units,
Calibrate the Speedometer, and run
diagnostic routines.

From the Set Up screen, push
the Select button to display the
Set Up Sub-Menu which lists
user adjustable features
The very top line of the Set Up
Sub-Menu displays the total boat
hours.
Boat Hours may also be
displayed on the Main Menu
Screen as a user selected option.

Reset VDIG to the Factory Settings
The VDIG may be reset to its original factory settings by performing the following steps:
1. Use the SCROLL UP ARROW or SCROLL DOWN ARROW buttons to display the Set Up
screen.
2. Push SELECT button to display the SET UP SUB-MENU.
3. Push the SCROLL DOWN ARROW button until the RESET FACTORY SETTINGS line is
high-lited.
4. Push the SELECT button to display the RESET FACTORY SETTINGS screen.
5. The screen has a single button labeled RESET. Push the SELECT button to reset the
VDIG to the factory settings.
6. Adjustable display settings will be reset and the display will exit to the SET UP SUBMENU.
7. The factory defaults are:

Display Brightness Control
The display brightness may be manually adjusted by performing the following steps:
1. Use the SCROLL UP ARROW or SCROLL DOWN ARROW buttons to display the Set Up
screen.
2. Push SELECT button to display the SET UP SUB-MENU.
3. Push the SCROLL DOWN ARROW button until the BRIGHTNESS CONTROL line is highlited.
4. Push SELECT button to display the BRIGHTNESS screen.
5. The screen has a slider with the brightness level digitally displayed below the slider. The
level may be adjusted from zero to 100. Lowering this value reduces the display
brightness and raising the value increases the brightness.
6. Use the SCROLL UP ARROW or SCROLL DOWN ARROW buttons to adjust the display
brightness to the desired level.
7. Once the display brightness is acceptable, push the MENU button twice to return to the MENU
DISPLAY screen.
Note: The Factory Preset for this variable is 100 and resetting the VDIG to its factory settings will
return the brightness to 100.

Adjust Fuel A larm
Fuel level is always displayed as a percentage. 100% = Full Tank, 50% = Half Tank, etc. The
threshold at which the Low Fuel Alarm is turned on may be adjusted by performing the following
steps:
1. Use the SCROLL UP ARROW or SCROLL DOWN ARROW buttons to display the Set Up
screen.
2. Push SELECT button to display the SET UP SUB-MENU.
3. Push the SCROLL DOWN ARROW button until the ADJUST FUEL ALARM line is highlited.
4. Push SELECT button to display the ADJUST FUEL ALARM screen.
5. The screen has a slider with the fuel percentage digitally displayed below the slider. The
level may be adjusted from zero to 100%.
6. Use the SCROLL UP ARROW or SCROLL DOWN ARROW buttons to adjust the Low Fuel
Alarm Threshold to the desired level.
7. Once the alarm set point is acceptable, push the MENU button twice to return to the MENU
DISPLAY screen.
8. Note: The Factory Preset for this variable is 12% and resetting the VDIG to its factory
settings will return the Low Fuel Alarm set point to 12%.
Adjust Shallow A larm
The depth at which the Shallow Alarm is activated may be adjusted by performing the following
steps:
1. Use the SCROLL UP ARROW or SCROLL DOWN ARROW buttons to display the Set Up
screen.
2. Push the SELECT button to display the SET UP SUB-MENU.
3. Push the SCROLL DOWN ARROW button until the ADJUST SHALLOW ALARM line is
high-lited.
4. Push SELECT button to display the ADJUST SHALLOW ALARM screen.
5. The screen has a slider with the depth digitally displayed below the slider.
6. Use the SCROLL UP ARROW or SCROLL DOWN ARROW buttons to adjust the Shallow
Alarm Threshold to the desired level.
7. Once the alarm set point is acceptable, push the MENU button twice to return to the MENU
DISPLAY screen.
8. Note: The Factory Preset for this variable is zero feet and resetting the VDIG to its
factory settings will return the Low Shallow Alarm set point to zero.

Resetting the Oil Change Service Reminder
The Oil Change Service Reminder may be reset by the operator by performing the following
steps:
1. Use the SCROLL UP ARROW or SCROLL DOWN ARROW buttons to display the Set Up
screen.
2. Push the SELECT button to display the SET UP SUB-MENU.
3. Push the SCROLL DOWN ARROW button until the OIL CHANGE SERVICE RESET line is
high-lited.
4. Push SELECT button to display the OIL CHANGE SERVICE RESET screen.
5. The screen has a single button labeled RESET. Push the SELECT button to clear the
service reminder.
6. The display will exit to the SET UP SUB-MENU. Push the MENU button once to return to
the MENU DISPLAY screen.
Resetting the
Dealer
Service Reminder
The Dealer Service Reminder should only be reset by authorized MasterCraft Dealers
Reset VDIG
The VDIG can be reset by performing the following procedure:
1. Use the SCROLL UP ARROW or SCROLL DOWN ARROW buttons to display the Set Up
screen.
2. Push the SELECT button to display the SET UP SUB-MENU.
3. Push the SCROLL DOWN ARROW button until the RESET VDIG line is high-lited.
4. Push SELECT button to display the RESET VDIG screen.
5. The screen has a single button labeled RESET. Push the SELECT button to re-initialize
the system.

Speedometer Calibration
1. Use the SCROLL UP ARROW or SCROLL DOWN ARROW buttons to display the Set Up screen.
2. Push SELECT button to display the SET UP SUB-MENU.
3. Repeatedly push the SCROLL DOWN ARROW button until the SPEEDOMETER CALIBRATION line is
high-lited.
4. Push SELECT button to display the SPEED CALIBRATION screen.
5. The current speed is displayed on the left side of the screen and a slider is provided on the right side of
the display. The number below the slider is the XXXX.
6. Use the SCROLL UP ARROW or SCROLL DOWN ARROW buttons to adjust the displayed speed to agree
with your external reference.
7. Once the speeds are in agreement push the MENU button twice to store the calibration and return to the MENU
DISPLAY screen.
Set Units (English or Metric)
1. Use the SCROLL UP ARROW or SCROLL DOWN ARROW buttons to display the Set Up screen.
2. Push SELECT button to display the SET UP SUB-MENU.
3. Push the SCROLL DOWN ARROW button until the SET UNITS line is high-lited.
4. Push SELECT button to display the SET UNITS screen.
5. The screen has two choices with check boxes in front of them.
6. Use the SCROLL UP ARROW or SCROLL DOWN ARROW buttons to high-lite the desired units and press
the SELECT button to check the check box.
7. Push the MENU button twice to return to the MENU DISPLAY screen.
8. The following parameters change in value in response to a change in units:
Depth
Air Temperature
Lake Temperature
Digital Speed
Oil Pressure
Coolant Temperature

Reset Perfect Pass to Factory Settings
The Perfect Pass Speed Control System can be reset to its factory settings by performing the
following procedure:
1. Use the SCROLL UP ARROW or SCROLL DOWN ARROW buttons to display the Set Up
screen.
2. Push the SELECT button to display the SET UP SUB-MENU.
3. Push the SCROLL DOWN ARROW button until the RESET PERFECT PASS TO FACTORY
line is high-lited.
4. Push SELECT button to display the RESET PERFECT PASS TO FACTORY screen.
5. The screen has a single button labeled RESET. Push the SELECT button to reset the
speed control system to its factory presets.
Note: All the stored rider information will be lost and the Perfect Pass background settings
will be reset to:

A nimation Settings
The operator can set the Introductory video to either play or not play when power is applied to the
system.
1. Use the SCROLL UP ARROW or SCROLL DOWN ARROW buttons to display the Set Up
screen.
2. Push the SELECT button to display the SET UP SUB-MENU.
3. Push the SCROLL DOWN ARROW button until the ANIMATION SETTINGS line is highlited.
4. Push SELECT button to display the ANIMATION SETTINGS screen.
5. The screen has a check box to display the video. You can toggle the check box on or off
by pressing the SELECT button
6. Push the MENU button twice to store the setting and return to the MENU DISPLAY screen.

PLAY A nimation
The operator can play the introductory video by
1. Use the SCROLL UP ARROW or SCROLL DOWN ARROW buttons to display the Set Up
screen.
2. Push the SELECT button to display the SET UP SUB-MENU.
3. Push the SCROLL DOWN ARROW button until the PLAY line is high-lited.
4. Push SELECT button to display the PLAY screen.
5. Push SELECT button again to play the video. The video will load and play continuously
until the menu button is pressed.
Utilities and Service Tools
The following items in the SET UP SUB-MENU are primarily for use by dealers:
The Gauge Diagnostics Screen allows the gauges in the system to be exercised
The About VDIG Screen displays the installed software revision levels of the VDIG
& MMDC
The VDIG Diagnostics Screen displays raw data received by the VDIG
The Simulated Data Screen can be used to demo the VDIG
The Screen Adjustment Screen is used by the factory

LOW OIL PRESSURE alarm is sent from the engine

LOSS OF CAN COMMUNICATION alarm is from
the VDIG indicating communication error
between the VDIG and the engine ECM
LOW BATTERY VOLTAGE is sent set by the
VDIG voltage has dropped below 11.0 VDC.
Buzzer Activated
LOW FUEL warning is from the VDIG and can
be adjusted in the SETUP menu
SHALLOW WATER warning is from the VDIG
and can be adjusted in the SETUP menu
VDIG Over Temperature Shut Down.
