What a terrific show this year. The
turnout was fantastic, filling two rings all day.
The weather was fabulous, and the facilities
at Saddlebrook Ridge were gorgeous.
Our thanks to Dr. Gail Pratt for
hosting this year’s Championship Show, and
for providing a lovely decorated awards area.
Thanks also to Kathleen Faltz for managing
the show grounds, recruiting volunteers,
scribing, and attending to a million details.
Our judges, Lisa Cox and Cheryl
Ash, did a great job, as usual. Thanks to our
scribes, Linda Ralls, Debra Moscatiello and
Nicole Rettino; our scorers, Tracy Brennan
and Paula Sagui, our announcer, Nelson
Ralls, and our runners, Marianne Hopko,
Michael Rickabaugh, Nicole Tokarz and

A classic experience in equestrian pursuit
Saddlebrook Ridge Equestrian Center is like no other in the Mid-Atlanc Region. A
combined training environment fulfilling every equestrian need is afforded to those
who seek the highest level of quality in both a facility and the care of their horses.
This prisne farm offers 100 acres of indulgence for every equestrian interest. In
addion to an outdoor dressage arena and full-size indoor arena, the facility offers a
water complex, bank jumps of varying difficulty, and many other compeve
obstacles for training purposes. Clinics, shows, and hunter paces are all ongoing
acvies at the farm.

Hell's Angel Thoroughbred
Rescue Award
Help Support the 2011
Year End Awards
The Hell’s Angel Thoroughbred
Rescue Award honors the accomplishments of
off the track thoroughbreds (OTTBs) and the
people who have taken the time to rehabilitate
and retrain these kind and gifted athletes.
Over the years Lisa has expanded
the Hell’s Angel award to include the USDF
All Breeds Program through the North
American Thoroughbred Society, and the
ESDCTA Memorial Day Weekend and
Garden State Classic shows. She has also
created the Hell’s Angel Grant in Education.
The 9th annual ECRDA Hell’s Angel
Award will be included with the 2011 Year
End Awards. This year a single Champion
will be honored. The criteria are:
The annual Year End Awards dinner
will be held on January 13, 2012. At this event
we recognize the accomplishments of our
members, and encourage their pursuits in the
sport of dressage.
As with any non-profit organization,
ECRDA relies on the support of generous
sponsors to underwrite our awards program.
Division sponsorships are offered for
$50.00 each. You may specify the division
you wish to sponsor (e.g., Training Level SR)
or we will choose one for you. As a sponsor,
you will receive a business-card size ad in the
awards program and in our next newsletter.
The space may be used for advertisements or
congratulatory messages.
1. You must be an ECRDA member.
2. Award is open to Adult Amateurs riding
an OTTB at Starter or Open levels.
3. The TB must have raced, even if just one
race, not necessarily in the US.
4. Submit a copy of your horse’s race track
record. Contact The Jockey Club at (800)
333-1778, (606) 224-2800, or on the web
at www.equineline.com.
5. One Champion streamer will be awarded
to an Adult Amateur riding an OTTB with
the highest year end percentage.
6. Previous champion recipients may not
apply for the award unless they are riding
a different OTTB.
7. All applications must be received by
November 15, 2011. Please include an
email address. No phone calls please.
8. Application materials may be sent to Lisa
Rasmuson, 1277 Smithville Road,
Bordentown, NJ 08505. All applicants
will be contacted by email by November
30, 2011.
At the banquet, your name will be
announced at the time your award is
presented. If you attend the banquet, you may
present the award yourself.
Patrons are also available for $25 for
individuals who may wish to contribute.
Sponsorships and patrons may be
mailed to ECRDA c/o Iris Biely, 5 Stanley
Place, Jackson, NJ 08527. In order to fully
recognize all contributions in the awards
program booklet, we would appreciate
receiving your donations by December 31st.

award: at least 3 scores from 3 different shows
and 3 different judges (2 for FEI), with at least
2 scores of 55% or better at the highest test of
the level. Riders are ranked by the median of
their 3 highest scores, including at least one
score from the highest test of the level.

medians are final.

Getting Ready for the Year End Awards
Banquet and Silent Auction
basket themes have included: coffee lovers,
afternoon tea, kitten comforts, doggy
delights, movie night, Home Depot bucket of
tools, horse grooming supplies, scrapbooking
supplies, and Night at the Spa.
We also welcome donations of gift
certificates or single items. The Committee
may combine some of these items into
additional theme baskets.
If you are interested in having the
Committee create a basket in your name or
want to donate an item or gift certificate,
please call Linda at (609) 680-7074 . We
would appreciate receiving all donations by
December 4th. On behalf of ECRDA thank
you all for your generosity.
If you’ve been to any of our Year End
Awards Banquets in the last few years,
you’ve seen the exciting new look for our
Silent Auction — new items, new business
donors, and those gorgeous theme baskets.
This new look has made our auction more
and more successful each year.
This year Linda Ralls is leading the
auction committee, along with her great team
of volunteers. The Committee has already
started working on this year’s auction, and
they are ready to start accepting donations
from
businesses
and
individuals.
Contributions may be in the form of cash, gift
certificates, or items for the auction table.
Of course, the very popular “theme”
baskets will be back again this year. The
Auction Committee will put together a lovely
themed basket in your name for the auction
table. You decide the theme and the amount
of money you'd like to spend ($25 or $50).
The Committee does all the work -- from
shopping and creating, to placing your basket
on the table.
With the growth of our auction over
the past several years, we’ve gotten a wider
variety of items, truly something for
everyone. To give you some ideas, recent

for all of the great
training and care this year!
