But it’s a cinch to improve your outlook.
Our nearly continuous barrier islands do more than offer you a lovely place
to stay. They also provide a beautiful way to play. Ours is an all-season golf
climate, where the conditions for playing 18 — or even 36 — accommodate
you during all four seasons. You can get as choosy as you want to be,
selecting your course by yardage, rating, or even type of greens. For the
avid player or foursome, most of the courses at North Carolina’s Brunswick
Islands offer packages. And, with 120 miles of fairways located within county
lines, it’s easy to schedule a tee time at a course close to where you’re staying.

You might say all the stars aligned right here. Nowhere else has a 45-mile
stretch of barrier islands combined so lavishly with extensive marshes,
quiet creeks, the Intracoastal Waterway and windswept trees rooted to an
ancient sea floor to produce a terrain so attuned to the golf imagination.
The game’s legends responded to the challenge. Palmer, Byrd, Maples, Jones,
Cate, Couples — they came, they saw, they designed hole after stunningly
beautiful hole, with thoughtfully placed bunkers guarding the solace of
bearded oak-shaded greens. All of which makes choosing your course rather
