Live Auction Rules
1.To bid on a Live Auction item, attract the attention of the auctioneer by raising your bid paddle high
above your head at the appropriate time. Each bid legally obligates the bidder to pay the bid price
in full if his or her bid is deemed final at the fall of the auctioneer’s hammer. The auction will be fastpaced, and bids must be made quickly. Bidding is closed only by the auctioneer. Decisions of the
auctioneer are final.
2.Certificates for Live Auction items will be taken directly to the highest bidder’s table. Throughout
the evening, the cashier’s table will accumulate copies of your winning certificates. If you have not
previously authorized payments to be charged to your credit card or Whitfield bookstore account
(for Whitfield families only), then at the end of the evening winning bidders should make one
payment at the cashier’s table.
3.Whitfield School has endeavored to catalogue and describe the items and services correctly, but
everything is sold “as is.” Previously unannounced, and/or duplicate Live Auction items, if any, may
or may not be identical to published descriptions. The Auctioneer will make reasonable attempts to
clarify and provide an accurate description of duplicate Live Auction items. By his/her purchase, the
buyer waives any claims for liability against either the School or the donor of goods and services.
These items will be up for bid online April 12-23 at www.biddingforgood/whitfieldevents.com.
If the items do not sell for the buy it now price online, bidding will continue the night
of the auction.

1.To bid on a Super Silent item, enter your bid on the bid sheet located in front of each displayed item.
Please see bid sheet for bidding increments. If you wish, you may enter a blind bid at any time.
2.Fifteen minutes prior to closing, an announcement will be made indicating “All Bids Now Blind” and
only blind bids will be accepted. All bidders will bid against the last highest bid posted by filling out
bid cards with the necessary information and placing them in the designated box in front of each
item. This is your last chance to make the highest bid! At the end of the 15-minute blind bidding
period, the box will be removed, blind bids will be collected and the highest bid will be posted at
each item.
3.The item will be awarded to the person with the highest bid above the reserve. In the event of a tie,
the winner will be decided by a random drawing of tied bidders. To avoid ties in the Super Silent
auction, bid an odd amount, such as $101.59 instead of $100.00.
