Deno’s Dialogue
Wings Over Port A Pirates in Phlip Phlops is our annual fund raiser. This year the Club
decided, by a vote, that we would give money to the Animal Rehabilitation Keep (ARK) and
The Port Aransas EMS (specifically for a cardiac monitor for the third ambulance).
The money will be divided 50/50.
We also decided we would do a pirate theme. I believe it will be a very fun event.
Everyone should try to come in costume. It is fun and makes for a great evening of
entertainment. We will have a best dressed pirate contest with prizes.
Start thinking about it now.
We do need more volunteers for our various committees. Everyone
who volunteers for a committee and helps will qualify for a $15.00
per person charge to attend the event instead of the $60.00 each
person. So not only do you get to help but you get a great price to
attend the party of the year in Port A! The boat trip still will be
$15.00. but full of surprises and a great event that is well attended
by Parrot Heads.
We currently have 7 committees so the choices of what you like to
do are many. We need some volunteers now and some will be
during the event. Some people like to do their work early and some
volunteer during the event. Everyone is necessary to ensure a
great event for our Parrot Head club. Most of the jobs are not real hard and some are a lot of
fun.
I am listing all 7 committees (see next page) and all members should look them over and
choose one. Some have already met and others will be meeting in the near future. We must
get some things started and set up for the success of the event. Thanks for taking care of this
timely. It will be fun. These are the committees and all who have currently signed up. I hope I
did not leave anyone off. There are many club members names not on the list. Please take a
few minutes and select something you may be interested in and sign up. It is a good way to
make new friends. When you decide please let Maggie know. If a committee gets full and feels
they do not need any more people, then your choices will be more limited.
