OUTREACH
GREETINGS ALL…
THANK YOU TO ALL THE HELPERS INVOLVED WITH THIS YEAR’S BACKYARD
MISSION TRIP. OVER ONE THOUSAND VOLUNTEERS WORKED ON NEARLY 250
PROJECTS, AND LOTS OF GOOD WILL AND GRATITUDE SHARED WITH PARTICIPANTS.
THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR GOOD WORK AND CARING MINISTRY. WHAT AN
EXCITING EXPERIENCE TO SHARE THE HEART AND HANDS OF JESUS WITH OUR
NEIGHBORS!
WHEN DOING YOUR SPRING CLEANING, REMEMBER THAT ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT
USING OR WEARING WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED AT THE CITY MISSION OR
CHOPIN HALL. BOTH BASKETS AND THE BARREL IN THE HALLWAY BY THE WEST
PARKING LOT DOOR ARE FOR DONATIONS. ALSO, CEREAL IS ALWAYS NEEDED AS WELL
AS CANNED FOODS.
AND AGAIN, THANK YOU. OUTREACH CAN NOT BE ACHIEVED WITHOUT YOUR
GENEROUSITY.
NANCY AND PAUL O'SULLIVAN, TRINITY OUTREACH
TAIZÉ PRAYER
The final Taizé Prayer of the 2015-2016 season was held on April 17th. The season was a success thanks to
all those who worked – in front of and behind the scenes – as a musician, decorating, hosting, cleaning up, or
in any other way. As always, your participation is appreciated.
Watch for the schedule and information on the 2016-2017 season.
You never know when you might meet…
In April, CSG hosted a special coffee hour welcoming Ellie McCurry. She and Lee have
been waiting ever so long to be reunited permanently in the U.S., in Findlay, and at
Trinity! We're so glad they were able to get past all the delays and hurdles!
The Vestry has charged CSG with making plans for a contemplation garden to be located
on Trinity's west side. Karen Eubanks and Kathy Creighton are beginning to work on this
project with hopes to have it completed this summer! Stay tuned for more news.
CSG is busy updating all of our name tags. It is our goal to have them ‘ready to go’ by
mid-May. Look for greeters to give them to you so we can get in the habit of wearing
them prior to the June arrival of Fr. John Drymon and his wife, Annie. There are only two
of them, but lots of us!

Dear fellow Trinitarians,
As I sit here looking out at Spring "in all her glory", I am filled with thanks for all of
God's blessings. Spring has come again and with it will come the arrival of our
new priest, John Drymon and his wife, Annie. It is official; a signed Letter of
Agreement is on file with us, with him, and with the Diocese. His start date is June
1st and his first services will be Sunday, June 5th. Let the countdown begin!!
Vestry will host a VERY special coffee hour on June 5th to welcome Fr. Drymon
and Annie. Given Trinity's past successes with potlucks, it is our plan to have just
such an event that Sunday. Look for details and a sign-up sheet in the near
future. Meanwhile, CSG is updating our name tags so it will be a little easier
for the Drymons to learn who we are!
And yes, the rumors are true. The Drymons are indeed interested in living in our
recently renovated house (aka the Annex). There are some details remaining, and
some further work to be done, but it looks like a reality. AA and Ala-non will
continue to meet in the Parish Hall and yellow room while Parker will have a
music room in one of the class rooms on the second floor above the parish
offices.
Trinity has for many years been host to AA and Ala-non. In keeping with our
position as a ‘downtown’ church, we have been looking at how Trinity's role in the
community can continue to grow. This summer we will again be the designated
bad weather site for the Art’s Partnership’s Tuesday Concerts in the Courtyard.
Zonta Club's singing group and the Millstream Singers have both hold practices at
Trinity; a children's nonprofit, SAFY, used the Parish Hall in April with favorable
results; and the Full Sound Chamber Group offers their concerts in our
sanctuary. Our own parishioner, Debbie Haas, gives piano, guitar, and voice
lessons here every week.
Trinity's lawn on the church's west side will become a contemplation garden for
passers-by and parishioners to enjoy. Vestry has given the planning
responsibility to CSG with hopes to have plans finalized in the near future.
Expect forthcoming details with how you can help.
Alleluia!
Ginny Lee

Music Notes
from Parker Maas
The choir practices in the parish hall at 8:30 on Sunday mornings. We
are hoping to gain new members. If you enjoy singing, we welcome you.
Come join us!
Thank you for all of your continued support in this ministry.
NEW - KROGER REWARDS!!
Kroger shoppers of Trinity earned
$151.02 from the efforts of 16 households
during the past quarter through the
Community Rewards Program!
IT IS TIME TO RE-ENROLL. Each April
participants need to re-enroll in order for
Trinity to continue receiving the benefits
of the Kroger Rewards Program. PLEASE
BE SURE TO UP-DATE YOUR
MEMBERSHIP!
OR…if you have not yet signed-up, please
consider doing so. This program in no way
affects your personal Kroger Rewards –
sales, fuel points, etc. If you would like
assistance, to sign up or renew, please
contact Deborah.
…DO NOT NEGLECT TO SHOW
HOSPITALITY TO STRANGERS,
FOR THEREBY SOME HAVE
ENTERTAINED ANGELS UNAWARE.
Trinity has guest pastors scheduled
to celebrate with us until Rev.
Drymon arrives. We would like to
show our hospitality by inviting them
to a meal following worship each
Sunday morning. If you would like to
host a visiting minister one or more
Sundays, please sign up on the
bulletin board.
This does not have to be an
elaborate event…a meal at home or
at a nearby eatery for the pastor and
possibly a spouse/guest will be fine.
And…you don’t have to do it alone.
One person or several who would
enjoy the guest and each other’s
company might dine together.
If you have any questions, please
speak with Jim or Karen.
THANK YOU!
PLANNING AHEAD…
SUNDAY, JUNE 5, TRINITY WILL HAVE A SPECIAL RECEPTION TO
WELCOME FR. JOHN DRYMON AND HIS WIFE, ANNIE STRICKLIN.
PLEASE PLAN TO ATTEND AND WATCH FOR MORE DETAILS!

We all need a little prayer and Trinity provides a
prayer list each week in the bulletin for those who
could use some extra. Would you please take a
moment to review that prayer list and help us
keep it up-to-date? If there are names which
should be removed, let Deborah know. If there is
someone on your heart, we can add that person.
Thank you!
CHURCH CALENDAR
As a central area of communication, there is a
monthly Trinity scheduling calendar on the bulletin
board in the parish hall. It includes all events,
activities, and facility usage. THIS IS YOUR
CALENDAR…IF SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE ADDED,
DO SO. IF THERE IS AN ERROR, PLEASE CORRECT
IT!
You may submit items to
Deborah anytime for the
upcoming calendar, but
please feel free to make
this an interactive tool
for the parish!
A PRAYER FOR MAY
Though the world is not at peace
today, let us pray for acts of peace.
Though we support the bravery of
our troops, let us pray for
homecomings.
Though we cannot depend on
certainty, let us pray for moments of
clarity and purpose.
Though we do not understand each
other fully, let us pray for patience
and open hearts.
Though we feel acutely the pain of
our broken places, let us pray for
healing.
And though it sometimes stretches us
beyond what we once thought we
could hold, let us pray for the vessel
of community.
Amen
If our country is worth dying for
in time of war let us resolve that
it is truly worth living for in time
of peace.

Trinity Episcopal Church is
. . . a welcoming community that is accepting of others who are different.
…a place to experience genuine relationships that help us grow.
…people who volunteer to reach out into the community.
…people who value tradition, music, and prayer in their worship.
