COMING EVENTS for our
20 year celebration
What a difference you have made in my life! September 1st, marks the conclusion of 20years of ministry with you. I am grateful for the gift you have given
me by allowing me to share in your life. We have celebrated together many
ceremonies and rituals honoring the Divine Life within and all around us. We
have expanded in our conscious awareness of the ultimate Truth as we see it
today and allow continued awareness to be revealed..
**9/8 Unity of Peoria will have a
table at Worldfest in the Peoria
Civic Center. Emira Akama and
Edie Godby are ordering this and
would appreciate volunteers
Greetings Friends,
Therefore, September is to be a time of celebration. With the first being a
presence at “Worldfest” at the Peoria Civic Center on September 9. Elmira
Akama and Edie Godby are sharing Unity at a table display. You are invited to
attend.
As prayer is the heart of Unity it is appropriate that the Unity World Day of
Prayer comes into this celebration. Come and pray with us. Any form of
prayer is appreciated, silent or audible. We will meditate together and walk
the labyrinth, tune with the crystal singing bowls and whatever else arises to
enhance our prayer vibrations.
The highlight is a concert with not 1, not 2, but 3 nationally known and honored musicians. “CELEBRATION” is the gift they bring. Celebration of Who
and what you are. Celebration of our becoming all that we are created to be.
Jami Lula, Karen Taylor-Good and Stowe Shockey in our house on 9/14 will be
the highlight of our anniversary celebration. Bring your friends and family. I
guarantee no one will be disappointed.
A “Basket Meeting” is the order of the day for our picnic. We will be at the
church, and the morning will begin with Jami Lula offering a sermon in song.
Bring a potluck dish to share with your Unity commUNITY. A grand time will be
had by all as we honor our oneness through spirit, soul and body.
You are in my heart. You are in my prayers (Our Thoughts Are Prayers). It is a
privilege to be within this loving, generous faithful community. You support
the work of this ministry in amazing and powerful ways. Always carry this affirmation in your heart and mind: “Who I Am Makes a difference!”
In the light, oneness and love of the indwelling Christ,
Celebrate your self,
Linda

This is a powerful healing technique which is founded in prayer. Specific

of release of that which is no longer serving the best, is utilized.
Prayer works, and prayer with partners is accelerated
due to the activity of oneness.

From My Perspective
EXPIRATION DATES
I have just returned from Big Lots where I purchased snacks for Coffee Hour and Abundance Sale.
Big Lots has such great prices but when shopping at outlet stores your have to be aware that some of
the foods might be nearing the expiration date manufactures are required to stamp on foods. My
quirky humor takes over and I envision what will happen when the magic date arrives. Will the
molecules break down to atoms, then to electrons and neutrons, then further to become the primordial soup that the Universe was created from. What will happen? Should I be worried about other
things expiring?
This is my birthday month. Do I have and expiration date? Is there a cosmic god sitting up there
(wherever that is) with a huge book containing the bar codes for all of humans scanning away to find
out who has expired. Unity does not think so. Our Tuesday Morning Glories Class is studying Eric
Butterworth’s book, “Unity: A Quest for Truth.” He espouses that “We have been taught to think
that life is ever on the ebb, that time is running out, and though we may work ever so hard to stave it
off, emptiness, sickness, lack, deterioration, and death are ultimates-foredained from the start.”
I can’t seriously think that I have an expiration date that was ‘fore-ordained’ from the start that indicates that I will die in one year, one week or one day. I choose not to focus on ‘the end’ but to focus
on new beginnings.
There are some things that I wish that I could stamp with an expiration date and have them disappear. At the top of the list I would put that old reflex thinking that just seems to happen. The times
that I am too critical or judgmental. I have to stop and rethink those thoughts. There is improvement but there is still work to be done. I am a work in progress. The emphasis on progress.
In my reality I have no expiration date. My world is not limited by an external power that controls
my destiny. I am conscious of my past and learn from it and anticipate a future of abundance. The
most important time is now. There is only the present moment, the NOW. All is new every day, a
new beginning, a new start. Each day is an opportunity for me to be all that I was created to be.
I am sure of that. I AM.
